Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of athletes and coaches in managing nutritional strategies based on extra food loading to support the performance and recovery of athletes in leading martial arts in Mataram City. The background of this activity is the low practical understanding of the importance of structured nutritional intake in supporting physical abilities, endurance, and physiological adaptation of athletes, especially female athletes who face hormonal challenges, menstrual cycles, and the risk of Female Athlete Triad (FAT). The implementation of this activity was carried out through an educational approach that included training, nutritional consultations, and demonstrations of post-exercise nutritional interventions. The material presented covered the importance of proper nutritional intake, such as high-quality protein, vitamin D, and iron, as well as the implementation of energy recovery strategies after intensive training. The method used was a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), which involved athletes and coaches to dig deeper into the challenges faced in terms of fulfilling nutritional needs and understanding the influence of physiological cycles on the performance of female athletes, especially female athletes who face the risk of Female Athlete Triad (FAT). The results of this activity showed an increase in the understanding of coaches and athletes regarding specific nutritional needs, as well as the implementation of extra food loading strategies to maximize performance and recovery. This program not only provides short-term benefits in the form of increased knowledge but also builds collective awareness of the importance of nutritional literacy in athlete development.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of utilizing Google Gemini-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology on students' learning independence and motivation in Grade XI basketball learning at SMAN 2 Mataram. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 students, divided equally into an experimental group and a control group, with 30 students in each group. Data were collected using learning independence and learning motivation questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an Independent Samples t-test using IBM SPSS Statistics. The results revealed that the experimental group achieved a higher mean score for learning independence (56.87) than the control group (46.00), with a significance value of 0.004 (p < 0.05). Similarly, the experimental group obtained a higher mean score for learning motivation (63.70) than the control group (52.43), with a significance value of <0.001 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the use of Google Gemini has a significant positive effect on improving students' learning independence and motivation in basketball learning. Therefore, Google Gemini can serve as an innovative learning medium to support more active, independent, and student-centered physical education learning.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the low level of student participation and enthusiasm in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) classes covering volleyball at Mataram State High School 7. Based on initial observations, most students exhibited passive attitudes, a lack of motivation, and a fear of performing basic technical movements. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ interest in learning volleyball. A quantitative approach was used with a one-shot case study design. The study population consisted of all 282 tenth-grade students, with a sample of 35 students from Class XE selected through purposive sampling. The main instrument was a Likert-scale learning interest questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, supplemented by an observation sheet. Data analysis used descriptive statistics based on percentages. The results of the study show that the average percentage of students’ learning interest reached 83.84%, which falls into the “very high” category. All interest indicators namely, curiosity, engagement, understanding, enjoyment, collaboration, and motivation were in the “very high” category. The enjoyment indicator received the highest score at 86.47%, followed by motivation at 84.85%, and collaboration at 84.28%. The conclusion of this study is that the PjBL learning model has been proven effective in increasing students’ interest in learning volleyball-related material.

Abstract

Abstract

Self-control is the ability of students to manage their behavior, speech, and emotions so that they align with existing norms. Meanwhile, aggressive behavior is defined as actions or behaviors intended to hurt others, either physically or verbally. This study aims to find out the relationship between self-control and verbal aggressive attitudes among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Mataram in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection was carried out using two types of questionnaires: a self-control questionnaire and a verbal aggression attitude questionnaire as the main data sources, with documentation as a supporting data source. The research population consisted of 109 students, and using the simple random sampling method, a sample of 52 students was obtained. The data analysis technique used was the Pearson product-moment statistical test. Based on the results of the analysis, the correlation coefficient value is -0.631 with a significance value (sig) of 0.000. Since the significance value is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-control and verbal aggressive behavior in eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Mataram in the 2025/2026 academic year. The level of the relationship is considered strong, with a negative direction, meaning the higher the self-control a student has, the lower the tendency to exhibit verbal aggressive behavior. Keywords: self control, verbal aggression
