Abstract

This paper is a review of the book "Limadza Taakhkharal Muslimun wa Limadza Taqaddama Ghairuhum" by Al-Amir Syakib Arslan. This book succinctly presents the reasons for the decline of Islam, providing an initial introduction for those studying the history of the decline of Islam. The study of this subject is all the more interesting because despite the passage of more than half a century, Muslims have still not achieved their former glory. This study needs to be reexamined in light of the current context. The importance of this study is further reinforced by the fact that understanding the causes of the past decline can provide valuable insights for designing strategies for the future revival of Muslims.

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of servant leadership as a strategy to overcome the problem of unconstructive classroom culture in the university environment. In the context of Islamic education, the importance of creating a learning culture that is balanced between intellectual, spiritual, and moral aspects is the main foundation. Support from the literature on constructivism and previous research shows that a constructive classroom culture has a positive impact on academic achievement, critical thinking skills, and the development of ethical values in Islamic education. Servant leadership, as a proposed solution, emphasizes service as the main approach, with leaders focusing on listening and responding to the needs of their class members. This research will explain in depth how the application of servant leadership by the Class Leader can form constructive classroom conditions at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang. Through qualitative methods with observation and in-depth interviews. The findings are expected to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between servant leadership and constructive classroom culture, with the potential to provide a basis for policy development or decisions related to leadership principles in creating positive and inclusive classroom conditions

Abstract

This study aims to trace the historical development of theology in Islam and identify the factors that influence the emergence of various theological schools in Islam. This research also aims to understand how different theological views affect the way of thinking and lifestyle of Muslims. The research method used is the historical method which includes four stages: heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results show that the development of Islamic theology can be divided into three main periods: classical, medieval, and modern. In the classical period, the rational and scientific Sunnatullah theology flourished, resulting in high productivity in various fields. However, in the medieval period, the fatalistic theology of Jabariyah dominated, causing a decline in theological thought. In the modern period, Islamic thinkers such as Sayyid Ahmad Khan, Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi, Muhammad Abduh, and Hasan Hanafi tried to adapt Islamic teachings to the changing times through a rational and contextual approach. They emphasized the importance of ijtihad and reassessment of the language and historical context of classical theology to answer the challenges of modernity. This research contributes to enriching contemporary Islamic studies with in-depth insights into the evolution of theological thought in Islam.

Abstract

The profession of a prosecutor carries significant responsibilities in upholding the law, maintaining justice, and protecting public interests. The professional code of ethics for prosecutors serves as a crucial guideline to ensure these duties are carried out with integrity, honesty, and professionalism. However, challenges often arise in the form of moral and ethical dilemmas during the execution of their duties. This journal examines the professional code of ethics for prosecutors from the perspective of Islamic law and its application in courts. The research method employed is a normative approach with a comparative analysis between the principles of Islamic law and the guidelines of the professional code of ethics for prosecutors in Indonesia. In Islamic law, the concepts of justice (al-‘adl), trustworthiness (amanah), and integrity are fundamental principles that must be upheld by prosecutors as legal enforcers. These values align with the principles of professionalism in the prosecutor's code of ethics, such as independence, responsibility, and honesty. This study concludes that integrating Islamic ethical values into the application of the professional code of ethics for prosecutors can enhance the quality of law enforcement, making it more just, dignified, and morally grounded. Recommendations include implementing Sharia-based ethical training for prosecutors, stricter periodic oversight, and the establishment of an ethics committee grounded in Islamic values to support the implementation of the code of ethics. Through this approach, it is hoped that prosecutors' professionalism will be maintained, and public trust in the judicial system will increase.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic education is changing the landscape of religious learning, in line with the broader trends of the 5.0 Industrial Revolution. The application of AI in Islamic education offers innovative ways to enhance the learning experience, expand access to religious knowledge, and provide a comprehensive educational pathway. However, it is clear that there is a lack of systematic literature that explicitly addresses the application of AI in Islamic education. This study aims to investigate the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic education, examining its potential to enhance personalized learning and educational accessibility. To answer the research questions, the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines were used to systematically identify 18 of the 379 articles, covering the period 2022 to 2024, and retrieved from three databases, namely Scopus, Google Scholar, and ERIC, according to the established exclusion and inclusion criteria. The results show that (1) AI effectively improves students’ understanding, motivation, critical thinking skills, creativity, and efficiency in Islamic education. (2) Challenges include ethical issues, privacy concerns, and changing teacher roles. (3) Ethical considerations ensure that AI applications are aligned with Islamic principles and promote responsible use. It is recommended that stakeholders develop guidelines to balance technological advancement with the maintenance of ethical and spiritual principles.
