Abstract

The adoption of emerging technologies, namely Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), has far-reaching implications for mobile user experience (UX) and this study enhances current research by evaluating the effectiveness of adopting user-centered design (UCD) methodologies to address emerging technologies for mobile experiences. The mixed-methods framework involves both quantitative survey and qualitative interviews to deliver a holistic perspective. The survey focuses on industry professionals and mobile app users to assess how they view AI's role in making personalization part and parcel of the experience, AR/VR role in enabling immersion and engagement, and any challenges presented by device screen size and varied user needs. In addition, semi-structured interviews provide qualitative data that reveal human insight into how practical work is influenced and the practices of design. The study shows AI makes an application much more personalized compared to AR & VR which provide an immersive rich experience but can have technical difficulty with implementation. The research underscores the importance of UCD in enhancing mobile applications and emphasizes the need for iterative design processes along with continual feedback from users to overcome developmental challenges. Moreover, there is a consensus that UX success and ongoing upgrades can be measured via qualitative metrics like user retention rates and satisfaction surveys. This study highlights the growing importance of combining advanced technology with effective design methodology to keep up with shifting user expectations and to improve the competitiveness of mobile apps

Abstract

E-learning is an approach that delivers education using digital means, wherein students access classes and resources over web-enabled devices. The study examines the integration of e-learning within Afghanistan's higher education system through a subjective research study by reviewing available literature published between 2019 and 2024 and extracted from databases such as IEEE, Springer, Science Direct, Research Gate, and Scopus. The results highlight several infrastructure barriers considered critical, which include a lack of ICT skills among both teachers and students, unstable internet access, unstable power supply situations, and a dependence on the traditional model of teaching. In addition, socio-political instability and inconsistent policies have further acted as impediments to the mass-level acceptance of e-learning.  Despite these challenges, e-learning offers opportunities for flexibility, access to different resources, and the integration of innovative teaching techniques. Cloud-based tools have proven beneficial during interruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped in continuing education with minor interruptions. E-learning encourages independent learning and improves digital literacy, but at the same time, teachers face challenges in engaging students and supporting skill development. The disparity in internet access between the urban and rural areas aggravates the problem even further, whereby cities have more access as compared to the countryside. The study further notes that the present-day government strategies are limited in addressing e-learning, as they do not have a coherent policy framework and suffer from lack of infrastructural support. Investments in technology and teacher training are an urgent need to improve e-learning in Afghanistan.

Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative innovation in information systems, offering enhanced security, efficiency, and transparency. However, its adoption faces multiple barriers, including technical, organizational, and regulatory challenges. This study aims to systematically review the integration of blockchain technology in information systems, analyzing its security enhancements, adoption barriers, and efficiency improvements. A systematic literature review was conducted using scholarly databases, including IEEE Xplore, Scopus, Web of Science, and Springer, covering studies published between 2019 and 2024. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology was applied to screen and select relevant studies. The findings indicate that blockchain significantly improves security features in information systems. For example, one study showed that blockchain’s cryptographic mechanisms reduced fraud rates by 30% in healthcare transactions (Aboagye et al., 2023). Additionally, blockchain’s decentralization decreased system vulnerabilities by 25% in financial applications. However, key barriers such as high implementation costs, regulatory uncertainties, and scalability issues hinder widespread adoption. Moreover, blockchain enhances efficiency by reducing transaction times by up to 40% and improving data integrity. Blockchain technology holds immense potential for securing and optimizing information systems. Overcoming adoption barriers through standardized regulations, technological advancements, and organizational readiness is crucial for its widespread implementation. Future research should explore scalability solutions and real-world applications to enhance blockchain integration in various sectors.
