Abstract

This research aims to enhance students' learning motivation through a self-efficacy approach. The study is conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which comprises four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. In this model, Kemmis and McTaggart integrate action and observation as a single unit, where observational outcomes serve as a basis for subsequent reflection. Reflections lead to modifications, actualized through further actions and observations in a continuous cycle. This research utilizes both primary and secondary data sources, with secondary data including school documents and archives. Results from the action evaluation in Cycle II indicate that 10 students (30.3%) demonstrated very high self-efficacy, while 24 students (69.7%) exhibited high self-efficacy, and no students were in the very low category. The average self-efficacy score rose from 92.29 in Cycle I to 94.91 in Cycle II, indicating a 2.62-point increase. These findings demonstrate a significant improvement in students' self-efficacy scores, reflecting enhanced learning motivation through this approach.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the development of e-comic learning media to improve the mathematics problem solving abilities of 4th grade elementary school students. The type of research carried out uses descriptive qualitative with field research methods. The type of research used is Research and Development with a 4-D design which includes a modification of the Thiagarajan model (1974:36). The stages carried out in 4-D design are the definition stage, design stage, development stage by carrying out validation tests on material, media and learning experts. After the results of the e-comics media development material test, media expert test and learning expert test were categorized as valid and feasible. Then the final stage is carried out, namely the distribution stage which aims to promote e-comic media to teachers and students. So it can be concluded that the development of e-comics media is suitable for application in mathematics learning to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Citizenship learning at the RK Makmur Elementary School level is an important part in forming students' social and political awareness to become active and responsible citizens. In the current digital era, learning innovation by utilizing technology is becoming increasingly relevant and important for improving the quality of civic learning. This research aims to explore the implementation of civic learning innovations that utilize technology at the RK Makmur Elementary School level and its impact on increasing students' social and political awareness. Through literature analysis and related research results, we develop effective citizenship learning strategies by utilizing technology, such as interactive e-learning platforms, social media, online games, and educational applications. We also discuss important components in implementing civic learning innovations with technology, including selecting appropriate technology, goal-oriented learning design, using engaging media, effective classroom management, technology-based evaluation, and project-based collaborative learning. The research results show that civic learning innovations with technology have great potential to increase student involvement, their understanding of socio-political issues, and their awareness of their rights and obligations as citizens. However, challenges such as equitable access to technology and required teacher training also need to be addressed to maximize the potential of civic learning with technology. This research provides an important contribution to the understanding of the potential of technology in improving citizenship education at the RK Makmur elementary school level and offers an in-depth view of how learning innovations with technology can form citizens who are active, critical and participate in democratic life.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether the use of mobile phones can interfere with learning activities for students and to find out the treatment that is usually given by guidance and counseling teachers. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method using data collection techniques, namely interview and observation techniques. The research subjects in this study were guidance and counseling teachers at MAN 2 Medan and 21 students at MAN 2 Medan. The results of the study show that the use of mobile phones can interfere with student learning activities, but on the other hand the teaching and learning process of MAN 2 Model is also somewhat assisted by technology in the form of mobile phones such as in providing material, google forms, and learning videos on certain subjects. The handling provided by the guidance and counseling teacher is to provide information services for mild cases and for severe cases the guidance and counseling teacher will call the parents of the students. Abstract

The role of education in shaping a qualified and productive generation is of paramount importance. One of the key determinants of educational quality is the leadership style of the principal. This article seeks to examine the impact of the principal's authoritarian and democratic leadership styles on the organizational climate within the educational environment. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research approach utilising a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The research population consisted of students enrolled at ABC School. The survey instrument was employed to assess the principal's leadership style and students' learning motivation. The findings of this study suggest that a principal's democratic leadership style exerts a positive and statistically significant influence on the organizational climate in the educational environment. In an educational setting under the guidance of a principal with a democratic leadership style, all members perceive themselves to be valued and engaged in an active role in the learning process. Conversely, a principal's authoritarian leadership style was found to have a negative impact on the school environment. This may result in a hindrance of roles and activities within the organizational environment.
