Abstract

The high national demand for sugar makes Indonesia very dependent on imports of cane sugar. Alternative products are urgently needed to reduce dependence on imported cane sugar, and one product that has potential is sago sugar. Currently, sago sugar is starting to be developed, one of which is in Sungai Tohor Village, Tebing Tinggi Timur District, Meranti Islands Regency. The aim of the service is to identify the process of processing sago into sago sugar, provide knowledge about the enzymes ?-amylase and ?-glucoamylase and their applications, provide enzyme packages that act as a binder as one of the factors in making sugar, reactivate production, teach e-commerce promotion, and recommend suggestions regarding the development of sago sugar products. The method or approach used in this activity is a participatory approach. This approach is a practice of communicative, transactive, advocative and collaborative planning theories. In carrying out this service, it was carried out well, from the delivery of materials, procurement of enzyme packages, manufacturing processes, and making attractive sago sugar packaging. Delivery of service material is done online with several constraints of funds, time, distance, energy, and conditions that do not allow service members to go back and forth in one day or stay overnight in the area, and considering that the process of making sago sugar will also take a long time. The enzyme package is the biggest expense in this service, considering that the price of this enzyme is very expensive. Meanwhile, the process of making sago sugar takes a relatively long time, around 3 or 4 days. The use of the enzymes ?-amylase and ?-glucoamylase in the process of making sago starch into sago sugar among sago farmers in Meranti Islands Regency got good results in the form of understanding the manufacture and use of enzymes, providing enzyme packages to sago processing entrepreneurs, good sago sugar production results, and produce attractive packaging that can be profitable.

Abstract

Sektor perikanan budidaya memainkan peran penting dalam ketahanan pangan dan ekonomi nasional Indonesia. Peningkatan produksi ikan menuntut ketersediaan pakan yang efisien, namun biaya pakan komersial yang tinggi menjadi kendala besar, terutama bagi pembudidaya kecil dan menengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang mesin pelet pakan ikan yang harganya terjangkau, bertenaga bensin, dengan kapasitas produksi 20-50 kg/jam, untuk mendukung produksi pakan mandiri. Metode yang digunakan meliputi perancangan dan perakitan mesin dengan komponen utama berupa screw extruder, roda penggerak, dan cetakan (die). Prototipe mesin memiliki dimensi 60 x 40 x 70 cm, menggunakan motor penggerak 4 tak (3600 rpm, 196 cc, bensin), tipe pencetakan screw extruder dengan diameter die 3 mm, tabung penggiling berukuran panjang 23 cm dan diameter 7 cm. Prototipe mesin diuji dengan bahan baku seberat 10 kg sebanyak lima kali. Hasil menunjukkan mesin dapat menghasilkan daya maksimum 3,46 kW, dengan putaran 720 rpm (maksimum) dan 200 rpm (minimum). Rata-rata kapasitas produksi mencapai 49,49 kg/jam, lebih tinggi dibandingkan mesin motor listrik 1 Hp pada penelitian sebelumnya yang menghasilkan 39,83 kg/jam. Selain itu, analisis scatterplot menunjukkan bahwa semakin banyak pelet yang dihasilkan, semakin lama waktu yang diperlukan, menandakan hubungan linier antara jumlah dan waktu produksi. Beberapa perbaikan diperlukan, seperti penambahan pengunci roda untuk kestabilan. Penelitian lanjutan perlu dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan konsumsi bahan bakar dan mengevaluasi interval pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan alternatif solusi mesin pelet yang efisien bagi pembudidaya skala kecil dan menengah.

Abstract

Arang batok kelapa merupakan bahan bakar yang sering digunakan untuk pembakaran makanan atau dapat digunakan sebagai pemanas ruangan. Pemanfaat arang batok kelapa biasanya digunakan secara konvensinal sebagai alat pembakaran makanan seperti sate, jagung, dan lainnya. Sedangkan diluar negeri arang batok kelapa digunakan sebagai pemanas ruangan selain alat untuk pembakaran. Namun, arang yang digunakan telah diolah sebelumnya menjadi briket yang memiliki nilai ekonomi dan keunggulan dalam menghasilkan kalor panas. Oleh sebab itu, Tim pengabdi bertujuan memperkenalkan dan mendampingi masyarakat untuk mengubah arang batok kelapa menjadi arang briket. Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara eksperimen atau praktek langsung dalam pembuatan arang beriket. Peserta dalam kegiatan ini terdiri dari masyarakat yang bekerja sebagai pengumpul atau pendistribusi arang batok kelapa di daerah Batipuh Panjang, Koto Tangah, Kota padang. Tim pelaksana berhasil membuat briket dari sampah biomassa. Briket ini dapat dijual kepada konsumen dalam skala rumah tangga, industri, dan sesuai dengan tujuan awal mereka, yaitu PLTU, untuk pemasaran skala besar.

Abstract

The background of this research is based on the growing growth of business competition in the electronic sector that requires quality control to be able to survive in competition, encouraging researchers to examine whether PT Sat Nusapersada Tbk has carried out the quality control process well. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of quality control, types of damage, and factors that cause damage in the process of handphone assembly at PT Sat Nusapersada, Tbk. Data collection techniques carried out by interview, observation and documentation. In processing the data this research uses Statistical Quality Control (SQC) methods, namely checking sheets, histograms, control charts p, pareto diagrams, and causal diagrams. The results of data analysis and discussion show that the process of assembling mobile phones in a state of uncontrolled or still experiencing irregularities. Based on the histogram diagram, it can be concluded that the type of damage that occurred at PT Sat Nusapersada, Tbk in Batam City was damage to the camera with 992 pcs or 40.46%, damage to the microphone with 847 pcs or 34.54% and damage to the battery with 613 pcs or 25% . Factors that cause damage to the mobile assembly are workers who are less focused and inaccurate, wrong assembly methods, raw materials that are easily dirty and equipment settings that do not fit properly.

Abstract

The research inted to analyze whether the implementation of a quality control system in this company has been controlled based on determined quality targets or not. As well as looking for factors that cause product defects in the production process of RV frames in PT X. This research uses statistical process control method. The results showed that the quality control of the Rv frame production process at PT X had not been controlled as evidenced in the control chart with 6 out of 51 data outside the control limit and in the Pareto diagram table, the percentage of defects was flahes/extra material 32.25%. , product defects due to short mold amounting to 29.64% and product defects due to discoloration of 27.67% then product defects due to overcut 8.92% and product defects due to bending at 1.45% and because it was broken by 0.08%. The factors that cause this damage are machine, human, material, and method factors, but of these four factors there are two factors that cause the most dominant damage affecting quality, namely machine factors and human factors.

Abstract

The joining of ASTM A36 carbon steel plates using the Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) technique is influenced by the tensile strength and hardness of the joint. To improve the quality of ASTM A36 carbon steel plate joints in the future, prediction methods are used. The prediction results play a significant role in determining the quality of the material connection.The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative, by predicting linear regression and non-linear (quadratic) regression models. The purpose of the discussion in this article was to determine the best prediction model for current variations on the tensile strength of future material connections. The analysis of the correlation coefficient showed a strong relationship in both models discussed. This indicates that the current strength variable had a strong relationship with tensile strength. Meanwhile, the highest R-square score was obtained in the non-linear regression model. The determination of the best prediction method was found in the non-linear regression model on tensile strength, with a MAPE value of 3.57%. These results indicate that the non-linear regression model better describes the relationship between current strength and tensile strength in ASTM A 36 carbon steel plate joining.

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem plays a vital role in maintaining environmental balance, making it one of the most productive ecosystems. In addition to functioning as a natural barrier against coastal abrasion, mangroves also serve as habitats for marine organisms and provide economic resources for local communities. Batam City, as an archipelagic region with approximately 13,000 hectares of mangrove potential, is facing a significant reduction in mangrove forest areas due to development and land-use conversion. In response to this condition, a community service activity was carried out in the form of mangrove tree planting as part of efforts to conserve the mangrove ecosystem. The activity took place in Kampung Terih, Batam, involving students and lecturers, and was supported by the local community. The implementation method consisted of three stages: pre-activity (location survey, stakeholder coordination, and logistical preparation), core activity (environmental education and seedling planting), and post-activity (monitoring and scientific publication). The activity resulted in the planting of approximately 200 mangrove seedlings of the Rhizophora stylosa and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza species. In addition to contributing to environmental rehabilitation, this activity had a positive impact in raising participants’ environmental awareness and providing experiential learning for students. Evaluation indicated challenges in reaching the target number of seedlings and limited information on alternative planting locations. This activity is expected to serve as a sustainable initiative for mangrove conservation in Batam’s coastal areas and to strengthen the role of educational institutions in environmental preservation through community collaboration.

Abstract

Scientific writing can be in the form of scientific articles, final reports, publication manuscripts, research reports such as theses, theses or dissertations. In writing scientific papers, modern reference management, such as Mendeley, Vos Viewer, and Connected Paper, has become a tool for scientific work writers to import, organize, search for references and research gaps quickly, it also makes it possible to organize and store all documents related to the project research in one place. Of the 35 participants who took part in the workshop, participants assessed that the material was delivered well by 3 resource persons, with evidence of an average rating for each resource of 4.5 on a scale of 1-5 (very bad to very good) and a standard deviation of 0.4 to 0.61. The distribution of results for the advanced themes that participants are interested in implementing in the future is optimization towards the industrial era 5.0 with an answer percentage of 54.29%; Publication of accredited scientific papers with a percentage of 25.71%; Industrial Sustainability was 11.43% and Industrial Innovation Technology was 8.57%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to modify the design of a cooling product and combine it with a new, environmentally friendly insulation that does not harm the ozone layer. In this study, data collection techniques include a literature review from various books and journals. The cooling box in this design uses hydrocarbon refrigerant, namely musicool-22, with polyurethane insulation of 1.75 m thickness and a capacity of 95 kg, resulting in a cooling load of 8768.951 W. A 3HP compressor is used, generating a refrigeration impact of 370 kJ/kg, a refrigerant flow rate of 0.018 kg/s, compressor power of 1080 watts, COP of 6.24, and an estimated cooling time of approximately 1.108 hours.
