Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the Sustainable Governance in determining the Future of Pesantren using Various Strategies for Strengthening Human Resources at Mamba'ul Hikam Islamic Boarding School using qualitative and case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that Mambaul Hikam implemented a multifaceted strategy to improve the quality of human resources in religious beliefs. This strategy comprised various activities, such as congregational obligatory prayers, the performance of sunnah night prayers, which included Tahajjud and Witr, the observance of the Duha prayer, the conduction of 'istighosah' sessions every evening, as well as the recitation of the Tahlil and Burdah every Friday night. The recitation of the entire Qur’an (Khotmil Qur'an) took place every Friday, and was complemented by a 'madrasah diniah' (Islamic-focused subject) in the daytime. Students also attended formal school in the morning, the recitation of Surah Yasin before entering classes, followed by book study sessions after the Isya'. Furthermore, students actively participated in school activities such as 'PI' (Practice of Worship), which included book discussions and khutbah by room representatives on Tuesday nights, as well as direct advice from their mentors.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi khususnya di era Generasi Z menjadi problem dan lebih pada pemanfaatan yang harus terlfilter dengan baik, jika pengaruh kemajuan teknologi tersebut tidak berdampak positif, maka akan mempengaruhi kebiasaan dan karakter di segala usia utamanya anak-anak. Perilaku kehidupan di kota mengalami perbedaan dengan desa yang kental dengan kearifan lokal, hegemony masyarakat yang tradisional dan komunal sehingga memiliki ciri religius. Pembentukan karakter yang harus ditanamkan sejak dini didasari nilai-nilai agama menjadi pijakan dan pondasi. Untuk itulah perlunya pemberdayaan masyarakat mengarah pada penanaman nilai keagamaan melalui pembentukan Madrasah Qur’an di Perumahan Pondok Abadi Jogoyudan Lumajang. Adapun hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan Madrasah Qur’an yang ditempatkan di Masjid Lailatul Qomariyah Perumahan Pondok Abadi Jogoyudan Lumajang sejak 5 November 2023 sebagai sarana dakwah serta menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan hingga mencapai 20 anak yang istiqomah mengaji dan memberi perubahan lebih baik  pada santri tentang pengetahuan membaca al-qur’an.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini  mengenai optimalisasi pelayanan publik melalui pemberdayaan karyawan di Madin As-Sakinah Lumajang menunjukkan bahwa kinerja karyawan dapat ditingkatkan melalui pemberdayaan yang melibatkan masukan dari karyawan dan penerapan prinsip efektivitas, efisiensi, inovasi, serta komitmen mutu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Daftar deskriptif kualitatif, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Metode ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan fenomena tanpa melakukan manipulasi variabel. Wawancara memungkinkan untuk mendapatkan wawasan langsung dari responden, observasi membantu dalam pengamatan langsung, dan studi dokumentasi memanfaatkan dokumen ↓ yang relevan. Indikator kualitas pelayanan publik mencakup fungsi, confirmance (kepuasan penerima layanan), reliability (keandalan), serviceability (sikap dan perilaku dalam melayani), dan assurance (pengetahuan dan kemampuan staf). Hambatan dalam pelayanan publik di Madin As-Sakinah termasuk motivasi karyawan yang mempengaruhi kinerja. Solusi yang diusulkan meliputi pembinaan rutin, pemberian insentif, dan evaluasi berkala untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kinerja karyawan. Pelayanan publik yang optimal dalam hal efisiensi dan efektivitas. memerlukan penerapan standar pelayanan yang baik, pemberdayaan karyawan, serta pengawasan dan evaluasi yang berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, diharapkan tercapai kepuasan masyarakat sebagai penerima layanan.

Abstract

In facing education challenges in the modern era, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at MA Nahdlotut Tholibin seeks to integrate religious values relevant to the times' needs. The PAI curriculum, which still uses many traditional methods, is considered less effective in attracting the interest of students who grow up in the era of globalization, which further erodes moral and ethical values. Surveys conducted in several educational institutions found that although students understand religious concepts, they often have difficulty implementing them in real life. This research aims to develop a more relevant and applicable learning methodology which is theoretical and supports the practice of students' daily lives. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis to evaluate the application and suitability of 21st-century learning methods. Participants in this study include PAI teachers, students, and administrators from MA Nahdlotut Tholibin. The data was analyzed using content analysis techniques. The study results show that learning methods with 21st-century skills such as Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, and Creativity and Innovation can increase students' understanding and motivation to learn. This approach helps students become critical thinkers and practitioners of good religious values in modern society. This research provides insight into the importance of designing a curriculum responsive to changing times. It supports the development of students' interpersonal skills and strengthens their ability to integrate religious teachings into daily decision-making.

Abstract

This research aims to explore more deeply the strategy of strengthening the religiosity of the Wonocepokoayu Village community through the one house one student system initiated by Islamic Boarding House Mambaul Hikam Lumajang. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. This research involved 7 (seven) participants consisting of Foundation administrators, managers, and public relations of the Mambaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School, as well as devices and alumni of the Islamic boarding school in Wonocepokoayu village who potentially know the one house one student system. The results show that the one house one student strategy is not only a solution to improve religion through education but also creates synergy between various elements of society in supporting the formation of religious characters at the local level. With this program, Wonocepokoayu Village is expected to achieve positive changes in its religious dimension for the better.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the innovative strategies of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Lumajang district in making Lumajang a model of religious moderation, with Senduro village as the main focus. Using a qualitative approach through a case study, data was collected through in-depth interviews with Ministry of Religious Affairs officials, religious leaders, and local communities. In addition, participatory observation of moderation activities and analysis of relevant policy documents were conducted. The results show that the Ministry of Religious Affairs' programs, such as strengthening interfaith dialogue and inclusive religious education, have successfully improved harmony and tolerance in the community. However, there are challenges such as local cultural resistance and lack of resource support. Nonetheless, the implementation of these strategies has had a positive impact in strengthening interfaith relations in Senduro Village, creating a more harmonious and tolerant environment. This research is expected to contribute to the development of religious moderation policies at the local level and enrich the discourse on religious moderation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze Islamic values and Da’wah-based human resource development strategies implemented by Syarifuddin Outbound and Leadership Development (SOLID) in Lumajang district. SOLID, as a human resource development organization, focuses on improving individual capacity through outbound activities, skills training, and leadership seminars, with an approach that instills Islamic moral and spiritual values. Most importantly, the existence of SOLID is also a form of Islamic propagation or preaching, which shows that Muslims are also capable of innovating in the field of human resource development. This research uses a case study method with a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data from in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation analysis to understand the pattern of character and skills development applied. The findings show that SOLID successfully integrates values such as honesty, responsibility, and fairness in each of its activities, which not only improves participants' technical competencies, but also shapes the character of ethical and Islamic leadership. This strategy contributes to the development of human resources who not only excel professionally but also have a solid moral foundation. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for HR development institutions that want to integrate Islamic values in their training programs.

Abstract

This research explores the scientific tradition built at Pondok Pesantren Putri Syarifuddin, Wonorejo Lumajang, focusing on the core values instilled and efforts to strengthen the scientific tradition in the pesantren. Based on a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation study techniques, the results showed that this pesantren succeeded in instilling values such as curiosity, analytical skills, openness to other people's opinions, and independence in thinking. The pesantren's efforts in the recitation of the yellowIslamic classic book, the translation movement, scientific works, and other scientific programs contribute to increasing scientific awareness, teaching quality, and understanding of santri. The implication of these efforts is the development of a scientific tradition in pesantren, increasing santri confidence in discussion, and strengthening the role of alumni in the world of education. This research shows that the scientific tradition in pesantren can go hand in hand and strengthen each other with the scientific tradition in higher education. The implication of this research is that the scientific tradition in pesantren is growing with the increasing participation of santri in scientific activities. This research contributes to improving the quality of teaching in and strengthening the role of alumni in the world of community education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Bahtsul Masail management in improving the critical reasoning of santri at the Assuniyah Islamic Boarding School in Kencong, Jember. Bahtsul Masail is a discussion forum that emphasizes in-depth analysis of fiqh issues, expected to develop critical thinking of santri. As a traditional Islamic educational institution, pesantren has a significant role in shaping the character and intellectual abilities of santri. This research uses a qualitative approach with an in-depth case study method, examining the implementation and effectiveness of Bahtsul Masail in santri education. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with pesantren managers, teachers, and santri, as well as participatory observation and documentation analysis related to Bahtsul Masail practices. The results showed that effective Bahtsul Masail management can facilitate the development of santri's critical thinking skills through debate and discussion, allowing them to question, criticize, and evaluate various perspectives of Islamic law. The findings highlight the importance of structural and pedagogical arrangements in the implementation of Bahtsul Masail, as well as how good management can integrate the development of intellectual skills in the pesantren curriculum. This research provides insights for pesantren managers in designing educational strategies that support the development of critical thinking skills, which are relevant in today's global era.
