Abstract

Introduction to The Problem: The government has announced that there will be an increase in the cost of Hajj for departure in 2024 or 1445 H. Meanwhile, going on Hajj is the dream of every Muslim in the world. The cost of performing Hajj can be an economic burden for many people who wish to fulfill this last pillar of Islam. So the phenomenon of rising Hajj costs has become an increasingly fundamental and urgent issue as it creates significant challenges in Islamic economics.Purpose/Objective Study: The purpose of this study is to analyze the domino effect of the increase in the cost of the Hajj pilgrimage from an Islamic economic perspective.Design/Methodology/Approach: This research uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are sourced from online news such as information from the Ministry of Religion to get the latest news related to the increase in BPIH fees and using secondary data obtained from websites, scientific articles, books and other reliable sources. Then the data is analyzed in accordance with the discussion related to the impact of the increase in the cost of Hajj using the theory of Islamic economic principles.Findings: The results of the study found several impacts due to the increase in the cost of Hajj, both direct and indirect impacts, namely: it can cause financial difficulties for prospective pilgrims, dissatisfaction among the public that can trigger negative reactions against the government or institutions responsible for the policy, will experience a reduction in the social and economic funds they have accumulated, raising questions about the government's responsibility in ensuring the accessibility of Hajj for all citizens. The hike in Hajj fees also highlights the importance of Islamic economic education and public awareness of Islamic economic principles involving justice, brotherhood, and solidarity.

Abstract

The problems that arise in the implementation of Islamic economic thought from historical times, including the contributions of figures such as Nizam al-Mulk, with modern times today, include Islamic economic concepts proposed by Nizam al-Mulk that are relevant in their historical context, but not always directly applicable in modern times. The research approach in this article uses a literature study with qualitative research methods, which focuses on analyzing the literature related to Nizam al-Mulk and Islamic economics. The research on the study of Nizam al-Mulk's thought in Islamic economics aims to explore, interpret and examine his thoughts in the field of Islamic economics and their relevance to contemporary economic issues. The findings of this study indicate that there are several contributions of thought and relevance to contemporary economic issues from Nizam al-Mulk, namely: economic regulation based on Islamic principles, infrastructure and economic development, fiscal and monetary policy, state financial management, economic empowerment of the people. Thus, Nizam al-Mulk's contributions in the field of Islamic economics not only have historical value, but are also relevant to the economic challenges and issues faced by Muslim societies and the world today. Permasalahan yang muncul dalam implementasi pemikiran ekonomi Islam dari masa sejarah, termasuk kontribusi dari tokoh seperti Nizam al-Mulk, dengan zaman modern saat ini, meliputi konsep-konsep ekonomi Islam yang diusulkan oleh Nizam al-Mulk yang relevan dalam konteks sejarah mereka, tetapi tidak selalu langsung dapat diterapkan di zaman modern. Pendekatan penelitian dalam artikel ini menggunakan studi kepustakaan dengan metode penelitian kualitatif, yang berfokus pada analisis literatur-literatur yang berkaitan dengan Nizam al-Mulk dan ekonomi Islam. Penelitian mengenai studi pemikiran Nizam al-Mulk dalam ekonomi Islam bertujuan untuk menggali, menafsirkan, dan menelaah pemikirannya dalam bidang ekonomi Islam serta relevansinya dengan isu-isu ekonomi kontemporer. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa sumbangan pemikiran dan relevansi dengan isu-isu ekonomi kontemporer dari Nizam al-Mulk, yaitu: pengaturan ekonomi berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip Islam, pembangunan infrastruktur dan ekonomi, kebijakan fiskal dan moneter, pengelolaan keuangan negara, pemberdayaan ekonomi umat. Sehingga, kontribusi Nizam al-Mulk dalam bidang ekonomi Islam tidak hanya memiliki nilai sejarah, tetapi juga relevan dengan tantangan dan isu-isu ekonomi yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat Muslim dan dunia pada masa kini.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and existence of cheap markets in controlling inflation and its impact on people's purchasing power. Uncontrolled inflation can reduce purchasing power, especially for low-income groups, so government intervention through effective policies is needed. One policy that is often applied is the organization of cheap markets as an effort to provide basic needs at more affordable prices. This research uses a qualitative approach, focusing on case studies of cheap markets in various regions in Indonesia. The results show that cheap markets have a significant role in helping to stabilize the price of basic necessities and increase people's purchasing power, especially during periods of high inflation. This research suggests that cheap market programs should be expanded and tailored to local needs, as one of the strategies in controlling inflation and improving people's welfare

Abstract

Introduction to The Problem: Economic independence is an important aspect in achieving welfare and social stability in society. However, in the realities of modern life, many Muslim individuals and communities still face challenges in achieving economic independence. Unemployment, poverty, and dependence on external aid are still significant problems in many Muslim-majority countries. Based on data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics in February 2024, the open unemployment rate reached 4.82%.Purpose/Objective Study: This study aims to explore and analyze the role of Islamic values in building economic independence through entrepreneurship.Design/Methodology/Approach: This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method and incorporates literature study, as well as analysis of relevant data.Findings: The results show that the application of Islamic values not only enhances the reputation and credibility of entrepreneurs, but also promotes sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Moreover, these values assist entrepreneurs in overcoming business challenges with high integrity and ethics. The study concludes that the integration of Islamic values in entrepreneurship has great potential to build economic independence, strengthen local communities, reduce economic dependency, and achieve social welfare. Practical implications of the findings include the need for Islamic values-based entrepreneurship education and training in the modern economy as well as the development of sharia-compliant business models.Paper Type: Research Article

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) adalah bentuk pengabdian mahasiswa kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan serta mendorong kemandirian komunitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pelaksanaan program KKN mahasiswa UINSU di Desa Nagori Birong Ulu Manriah dalam memberdayakan masyarakat melalui kegiatan keagamaan, pendidikan, lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dan arsip. Temuan yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa program-program kerja, seperti pelatihan fardhu kifayah, seminar moderasi beragama, pendidikan budidaya lebah, revitalisasi taman PKK, edukasi pengelolaan sampah, seminar tentang bahaya bullying, bazar UMKM, seminar tentang budaya menabung, serta bioskop mini pendidikan, mendapatkan sambutan hangat dari masyarakat dan memberikan efek positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan. Kesimpulannya, pelaksanaan program KKN mahasiswa UINSU di Desa Nagori Birong Ulu Manriah berhasil mencapai sasaran pemberdayaan dengan melibatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat serta memberikan kontribusi yang berkelanjutan dalam aspek sosial-ekonomi desa.

Abstract

Introduction to The Problem: The Islamic insurance industry in Indonesia has great potential to grow, especially considering the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim. However, in reality, the market share of Islamic insurance in Indonesia is still lagging behind compared to other financial institutions and when compared to conventional insurance. Based on data as of December 31, 2022, it shows that conventional insurance premiums have a market share of 50.32%, social and compulsory insurance premiums are 45%, while Islamic insurance premiums only reach 4.76%.Purpose/Objective Study: This study aims to analyze strategies to optimize the development and increase market share of Islamic insurance in the modern era.Design/Methodology/Approach: This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to review literature related to marketing strategies, technological innovation, consumer behavior, and regulations in Islamic insurance.Findings: The research findings show that optimization of development can be achieved through product innovation in accordance with modern market needs, the application of digital technology, and increased Islamic financial literacy.In addition, strong regulatory support from the government, both from DSN-MUI and OJK, is essential in creating a conducive environment for the growth of Islamic insurance.The conclusion of this study states that collaborative strategies between Islamic insurance companies and related industries, as well as the utilization of digital technology, can increase the market share and competitiveness of Islamic insurance in the modern era.This optimization can expand product range and increase consumer confidence, as well as strengthen the position of Islamic insurance in the global financial market.Paper Type: Research Article
