Abstract

This study aims to determine the discourse of memory contestation in the novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat by Faisal Oddang. This cannot be separated from the relationship between memory and the formation of a person's identity. By using qualitative research methods, this study is divided into three stages, namely data collection, data analysis, and presentation of research results. Data collection is carried out by repeated reading of various data related to formal objects and material objects. Meanwhile, data analysis is carried out by looking for relationships between data to achieve a unity. The theory used is the social theory of remembering developed by Barbara Misztal. The results of the study are the existence of collective memory contestation that causes the identity of a person or group of people to experience a crisis. As a result, the individual commits various sexual deviations as a projection of the crisis.

Data collection techniques used were interviews, expert questionnaires, educator response questionnaires, and tests to understand abstract concepts of material changes in the form of objects. The data analysis used was qualitative and descriptive, presented in the form of graphs. The effectiveness test was carried out by comparing the scores of the pretest and posttest before and after using the e-module of abstract concepts of material changes in the form of objects. The results of research and development include: (1) the e-module of abstract concepts of material changes in the form of objects is declared to be very feasible in supporting the learning of autistic children with an average score of 48.5 from 47 material experts and 50 media experts, (2) the results of the practicality of the e-module abstract concepts of material changes in the form of objects from the questionnaire of educators responses with an average score of 4.85 in the very practical category, and (3) the e-module of abstract concepts of material changes in the form of objects can improve the ability of critical thinking of autistic children, as indicated by the average score of the Normalized Gain Test of 0.66 (moderate).

Abstract

Slawatan, a hybrid culture rooted in Arab culture, developed in Java by adapting to the local culture. This study presents a case study Javanese slawatan tradition in the Langen Ambiya Group, Sleman Regency. Its existence is closely related to oral traditions and religious rituals expressed as distinctive Javanese performances and related to local knowledge. This study uses a structural method to examine the correlation between variations in form and meaning in slawatan lyrics. The results show that structurally, Javanese slawatan songs are developed through variations in the use of Arabic, Javanese, and a mixture of both languages. The performances also show similarities with Javanese palantun langgam, which reinforces the local aesthetic character of this tradition. These findings confirm that Javanese slawatan not only functions as a medium for religious preaching and entertainment, but also as a means of negotiating a dynamic cultural identity amid social change in society.
