Abstract

Background: Based on 2021 Ministry of Home Affairs data, there are 418.156 elderly people in Aceh Province. BPS data for Kota Banda Aceh  in2021 shows that there are 55.504 elderly people, and 1,041 elderly people are in Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Kota Banda Aceh. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Social Group Activity Therapy (TAKS) on depression in the elderly in Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Kota Banda Aceh. Method: This research is a Pre-Experimental Design. The population in this study were all elderly people who lived in Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Kota Banda Aceh, totaling 1,041 people. The research sample was taken using the Accidental Sampling Technique. Data analysis used the statistical test of the Paired One Sample t-Test and the Chi-square test. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a difference between before and after carrying out Social Group Activity Therapy (TAKS) on depression in the elderly with a value of sig. (2-tailed)=0.000. The results of statistical tests using Chi-square also show that there is a relationship between the history of chronic disease (p-value:0.010) and family income (p-value:0.048) with depression in the elderly in Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Kota Banda Aceh. Recommendation: It is recommended that health workers can further increase the role of Posyandu for the elderly, and also cross-sectoral cooperation, especially cooperation in improving the health status of the elderly, and minimizing diseases that occur in the elderly, as well as being more active in inviting the elderly to utilize the health facilities to maintain the health of the elderly.

Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the decline in human quality of life across various aspects. The direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is evident in the health aspect, such as the high number of positive cases and deaths due to COVID-19. One of the groups considered vulnerable to Coronavirus infection is smokers.  This research aims to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on smoking habits and changes in smoking patterns, as well as smoking behavior (cigarette consumption, smoking areas, access, and ease of purchasing cigarettes) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Aceh. Method: This research employs descriptive analytics using a Cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used in this study is Convenience/Accidental sampling with a sample of 255 respondents. The instrument used was an online survey in Google Form format distributed through WhatsApp, and the data were analyzed using Univariate analysis. Results: The survey indicates that concerning the intention to quit smoking, 22% of respondents stated that during the COVID-19 period, they had already tried to quit smoking, and another 48% of respondents intended to quit, although they had not succeeded yet. Based on the  number of cigarettes consumed, 54% of respondents had reduced smoking, and 26% of respondents intended to reduce but found it challenging. Regarding respondents' knowledge about cigarettes and COVID-19, 90% of respondents had good to fairly good knowledge about preventing the spread of COVID-19, 69% of respondents had received information from various media, with the majority receiving information from social media and print media. Concerning access to purchasing cigarettes, 77% of respondents directly purchased from stalls, shops, or local stores, and the majority bought cigarettes every day or every 2-3 days. In terms of respondents' perceptions of cigarettes and COVID-19, 22% of respondents stated that cigarettes were a risk factor for COVID-19, 1% considered cigarettes to be a protective factor, and 77% were undecided. Conclusion: The survey indicates a change in the  number of cigarettes consumed by respondents before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, there is a need to  maximize of health promotion related to cigarettes and COVID-19, as well as strengthened the implementation of smoke-free areas (KTR - Kawasan Tanpa Rokok) and smoke-free homes. Consistent implementation of smoke-free areas is expected to improve public health, especially in controlling the risk factors for diseases and deaths caused by smoking and enhancing a healthy and clean living culture within society.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is a condition in which the heart stops pumping blood effectively, resulting in loss of consciousness and potentially causing death if not treated quickly and appropriately. Knowledge about cardiac arrest and proper first aid measures is very important for the general public, because this incident can happen anytime and anywhere. Cardiac arrest can be caused by coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, or other medical conditions. When cardiac arrest occurs, blood flow to the brain and other vital organs stops, requiring immediate treatment to provide a chance of survival. Basic Life Support (BLS) is a series of actions taken to maintain the function of vital organs of cardiac arrest victims until professional medical assistance arrives. BLS training is very important for the general public so that they can provide first aid in emergency situations. With the right knowledge of how to do BLS and recognize the signs of cardiac arrest, they can contribute to saving lives. Training methods include lectures, interactive discussions, and practicing BLS techniques correctly. The conclusion is that increasing awareness and knowledge about cardiac arrest and Basic Life Support among the general public is a crucial step in saving lives. With the right training, every individual has the potential to be an effective first responder in an emergency situation. Keywords: Cardiac arrest, BHD, lay public

Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization (2017), the prevalence of depression in the elderly in the world ranges from 10-15% of the elderly population, while the prevalence of depression in Indonesia is 11.6% of the elderly. In Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh City, the elderly population is 1,041 people, but there are still many who do not know about the benefits of Group Activity Therapy (GAT) to reduce depression levels in the elderly. GAT is a series of activities that help facilitate the socialization skills of several elderly people with social relationship problems. This therapy is widely used to reduce anxiety or depression in the elderly. On this basis, the D3 Physiotherapy Study Program of the Vocational Faculty of the University of Muhammadiyah Aceh held a GAT activity in Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh City. This activity is one of Community Service which is part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of holding this activity is as follows: 1) To help the elderly in socializing and reduce the level of depression in the elderly; 2) To increase the sense of community in the elderly; 3) To improve physical and spiritual health in the elderly. It is hoped that this activity will not only be carried out in Keuramat Village, but will be carried out in all villages in Banda Aceh City, so that the creation of a healthy elderly, prosperous elderly, and happy society.Keywords: GAT, Depression, Healthy Elderly, Gampong Keuramat Banda Aceh City.

Abstract

huruf C yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan postur, nyeri, dan keterbatasan fungsi. Intervensi fisioterapi diperlukan untuk mengurangi keluhan dan memperbaiki keseimbangan tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efek intervensi fisioterapi berupa Bugnet Exercise dan penggunaan korset lumbal pada pasien dengan skoliosis tipe C. Desain penelitian adalah studi kasus deskriptif pada seorang pasien yang menjalani fisioterapi di Praktik Fisioterapi Zahara Takengon. Intervensi dilakukan sebanyak delapan sesi dengan kombinasi latihan Bugnet yang menekankan pada penguatan otot, peregangan, serta perbaikan kontrol postural, disertai penggunaan korset lumbal sebagai alat bantu stabilisasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya penurunan intensitas nyeri dari VAS 6 menjadi 2, peningkatan kekuatan otot postural dan ekstremitas bawah dari MMT grade 3 menjadi 4–5, peningkatan lingkup gerak sendi sebesar 10°–15°, serta perbaikan kemampuan fungsional pasien dalam aktivitas sehari-hari. Kombinasi antara Bugnet Exercise dan korset lumbal terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi nyeri, meningkatkan stabilitas postur, dan memperbaiki fungsi gerak pasien dengan skoliosis tipe C. Intervensi ini direkomendasikan sebagai bagian dari fisioterapi konservatif, khususnya untuk pasien usia lanjut.

Abstract

Penyakit kardiovaskular (PKV) merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian secara global di seluruh dunia termasuk di Indonesia. Prevalensinya semakin hari semakin meningkat. Pasien dengan penyakit kardiovaskular rata rata mengalami penurunan kualitas hidup (QoL). Program rehabilitasi jantung (PRJ) terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan QoL pasien PKV, namun keberhasilannya sangat bergantung pada kepatuhan pasien dan dukungan dari caregiver. Tujuan :Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara perilaku caregiver dengan kualitas hidup pasien penyakit kardiovaskular yang menjalani program rehabilitasi jantung di RSUDZA Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional, melibatkan 110 orang responden pasien PKV dan caregivernya. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner perilaku caregiver dan kuisioner kualitas hidup SF-36 (Short Form health -36). Analisis korelasi dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antara kedua variabel. Hasil penelitian Berdasarkan uji korelasi spearman diperoleh koefisien korelasi 0,600 dan p value 0,000 yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara perilaku caregiver dengan peningkatan kualitas hidup pasien PKV. Kesimpulan: penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya peran aktif dan dukungan caregiver dalam program rehabilitasi jantung untuk mendukung proses pemulihan. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar program rehabilitasi jantung tidak hanya fokus pada pasien tetapi juga melibatkan edukasi dan dukungan untuk caregiver
