Abstract

This study aims to examine and enhance teacher creativity in developing Canva-based language learning media at SMK Negeri 3 ALasa. Specifically, it seeks to understand how such media can be designed to better engage students and improve learning outcomes. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, which includes four stages: Define (identifying needs and goals), Design (planning the media structure and content), Develop (creating and refining the media), and Disseminate (sharing the final product). The learning media were evaluated by a team of media and material experts, focusing on criteria such as visual appeal, multimedia integration, and content customization. The teachers' creativity is evidenced by the attractive visual design, varied multimedia elements, and tailored content that meets students' needs. The media achieved an 88% effectiveness score from user testing and a 92% validation score from material experts. These findings underscore the importance of integrating technology like Canva in creating innovative and engaging learning experiences. This approach not only enhances student understanding but also empowers teachers to explore creative teaching methods. The high validation scores indicate that the Canva-based learning media are effective and well-received, demonstrating significant teacher creativity and potential for broader application in educational settings.

Abstract

Abstract: Skills in planting long beans to obtain results are carried out through community service activities by providing education to them. The aim of this community service research is to provide education to the public so that they are able to understand well how to plant long beans successfully, including: how to choose and prepare the location of the soil and long bean seeds, how to plant the seeds and care for and prune them, how to help eradicate pests and diseases , and how to maintain a sustainable harvest and the benefits of growing string beans. The method used is giving examples directly, the participants are the people of Hiliweto Village, Gido District, Nias Regency, North Sumatra and the education providers are Nias University students who are carrying out community service activities with the guidance of lecturers. The research results concluded that: (1) community service education is very effective in providing knowledge, attitudes and skills in planting long beans successfully; (2) The ways to plant long beans are: selecting and preparing the location of the soil and long bean seeds by digging a hole in the ground with a depth of about 2 to 3 cm, and the distance between the holes is about 20 to 30 cm, and the distance between the rows is about 60 to 80cm; (3) supporting plants by eradicating pests and diseases and maintaining sustainable harvests by selecting superior, large and good seeds and getting the benefits of planting long beans.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk menjelaskan manfaat aplikasi Mendeley dalam mensitasi karya ilmiah secara sistematis dan menulis daftar pustaka secara otomatis. peserta dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Nias, khususnya semester VII (tujuh) yang sedang menyusun proposal penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini melalui workshop, ceramah, dan diskusi dengan pendekatan kolaborasi dengan komunitas ilmiah melalui langkah-langkah dasar penggunaan aplikasi, seperti cara menambahkan referensi, membuat daftar pustaka, dan mengorganisir dokumen. Dengan menggunakan Mendeley, penulis akan lebih mudah untuk mengambil sumber dan isi tulisan dari sumber pustaka, baik secara manual maupun secara otomatis. Aplikasi mendeley dapat menghemat waktu, mengurangi kesalahan kutipan, kolaborasi yang lebih mudah dan akses referensi dan dokumen akademik dari perangkat seluler dengan mengidentifikasikan kualitas dan keaslian setiap referensi disitasi. Hasil pengabdian ini dapat menunjang dan memfasilitasi kolaborasi antarpeneliti atau penulis dalam pengumpulan referensi, catatan, dan dokumen. Melalui workshop tentang menejemen referensi ini diharapkan mahasiswa dapat mengakses dan menyimpan referensi mereka secara online, menyediakan penyimpanan awan (cloud storage) untuk dokumen dan referensi yang dapat diimpor dari berbagai sumber, dan aplikasi secara otomatis membuat entri referensi dengan informasi lengkapmeningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas pekerjaan akademis mahasiswa melalui aplikasi mendeley, zotero dan jenis lannya.

Abstract

Kesalahan berbahasa didefinisikan sebagai bentuk tuturan yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa, yang mencerminkan kurangnya pengetahuan dan penguasaan terhadap kode bahasa. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan berbahasa adalah kurangnya pemahaman tentang tata bahasa yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan afiksasi pada karangan siswa di SMP Negeri 4 Lahewa Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah lembar hasil kerja siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Lahewa Timur. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh sebanyak 59 kesalahan kesalahan afiksasi pada karangan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Lahewa Timur yang meliputi: bentuk kesalahan peletakan afiks sebanyak 17 kesalahan, bentuk kesalahan penggunaan preposisi atau kata depan sebanyak 16 kesalahan, bentuk kesalahan pemilihan afiks sebanyak 4 kesalahan, bentuk kesalahan penghilangan afiks sebanyak 14 kesalahan, dan bentuk kesalahan peluluhan bunyi pada kata berimbuhan sebanyak 8 kesalahan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi untuk mengetahui lebih dalam tentang cara pelaksanaan Famatӧrӧ Tӧi Ono Nihalӧ (pemberian nama pengantin perempuan) dan makna yang terdapat pada nama pengantin baru seperti Balaki, Barasi, dan Za’usӧ yang berada di Kabupaten Nias dan tentang peran serta fungsi Famatӧrӧ Tӧi Ono Nihalӧ (pemberian nama pengantin perempuan) serta dilestarikan dari generasi ke generasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tata acara Famatӧrӧ Tӧi Ono Nihalӧ (pemberian nama pengantin perempuan) dan untuk mendeskripsikan makna yang terkandung dalam 3 nama Famatӧrӧ Tӧi Ono Nihalӧ. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pertama, mengenai tata acara pelaksanaan Famatörö Töi Ono Nihalö di Kabupaten Nias; kedua, mengenai makna dari nama-nama tradisional Famatörö Töi Ono Nihalö seperti Balaki, Barasi, dan Za’usö. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi ini memegang nilai penting dalam menghormati status baru pengantin perempuan dan mewariskan nilai-nilai budaya Nias. Temuan ini didukung oleh analisis data komprehensif yang menggambarkan bagaimana adat, agama, dan pemerintah saling mendukung untuk menjaga dan mengembangkan tradisi ini dalam masyarakat Nias.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakter, motivasi, dan proses terbentuknya wirausaha dengan jenis penelitian kualitataif melalui teknik wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah wirausaha PT. Peternakan Aurifada Ono Niha. Hasil penelitian dideskripsikan dan terdiri dari karakter wirausaha : (1) komitmen yang tinggi, (2) dispiln, (3) pantang menyerah, (4) kreatifitas, (5) berani mengambil resiko, (6) jujur, (7) berfokus kemasa depan, motivasi wirausaha : (1) memiliki pengetahuan dan wawasan, (2) memiliki pengalaman, (3) lingkungan, (4) pemasaran, proses terbentuknya : (1) inovasi, penentuan produk/usaha, (2) pemasaran, (3) lokasi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' ability to review fictional works in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method, with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli, while the research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII-C as the experimental class and class VIII-F as the control class, each totaling 31 students. The research instrument used was a pretest and post-test in the form of essays. The results of the validity test showed that all test items were valid with a calculated r value > r table (example: question number 3 r count = 0.905 > r table = 0.367). The reliability test showed a value of α = 0.78 which means the instrument is reliable. The difficulty level ranged from 69.60% to 77.33% (moderate to easy category), and the discriminating power ranged from 0.20–0.32 (sufficient to moderate category). The average pretest score for the experimental class was 63.58, and the posttest score increased to 80.61. Meanwhile, in the control class, the average pretest score was 62.38, and the posttest score increased to 71.35. Based on the results of the independent t-test, t = 3.82 and t = 2.00 were obtained at a significance level of 5%.

Abstract

Students' ability to write news texts is often hampered by a lack of understanding of the structure and elements of good news texts. This condition causes students' writing results to not meet the criteria for language, completeness of information, and factual accuracy. This study aims to improve students' ability to write news texts through the application of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model in class VII-A students of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliduho. The TSTS model was chosen because it can increase interaction between students, encourage the exchange of information, and foster a deep understanding of the material through structured group discussions. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle includes four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation of actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The research instruments used are news text writing ability tests, observation sheets, and documentation. In cycle I, the analysis results show that the average score of students' writing ability is 45.09%, with the lowest score being 6.25% and the highest score being 93.7%. These results indicate that students' understanding of the structure, elements, and language of news still needs to be improved. After improving the learning strategy in cycle II, there was a significant increase in students' writing skills. The average score increased to 83.19%, with the lowest score being 50% and the highest score being 100%. This improvement indicates that the TSTS learning model is effective in helping students better understand the concept of news writing. Furthermore, the more interactive and collaborative learning atmosphere has been shown to motivate students to actively exchange information and develop ideas. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that Indonesian language teachers utilize the TSTS learning model as an alternative strategy in teaching news writing, so that the learning process becomes more meaningful and student learning outcomes can be optimally improved.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Canva-based Digital Scrapbook as a learning medium for negotiation texts for tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sogae'adu. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Borg and Gall model, which includes ten steps: identifying problems, collecting data, designing products, validating designs, revising, product testing, revising, usage testing, final revisions, and mass production. The product trial was conducted with 6 students from class X MP 2, and the usage trial with 33 students from class X MP 1. The media was validated by three experts: material, language, and design. Material validation reached a score of 60 out of 60 (100%), language validation scored 40 out of 40 (100%), and design validation showed high feasibility. The practicality of the media, based on student questionnaires, was 91%. Effectiveness was shown by increased post-test scores, with 81% of students meeting the learning completeness criteria. The results indicate that Canva-based Digital Scrapbook media is highly feasible, practical, and effective for learning negotiation texts. This media improves student engagement, concept understanding, and interest. It supports student-centered learning and fits the needs of 21st-century students who prefer interactive, and visual, and creative approaches to understand material better.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop flipbook learning media to improve listening skills in news texts of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bawolato. The implementation procedure or research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model, which includes ten stages ranging from potential and problems to mass production. The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bawolato, even semester class VII-A totaling 6 people, 3 boys and 3 girls, class VII-B totaling 31 people, 17 boys and 14 girls. The results of the study showed that the flipbook media had been validated by three experts, namely material, language, and design experts with a percentage level of 100% for each aspect tested so that it was categorized as "very feasible" to use. The practicality test conducted on a small group showed that the flipbook scored 96.21% which means "very practical" in its use. In addition, the results of the effectiveness test conducted on a large group showed an effectiveness level of 83.87% which was categorized as "very effective" in improving students' listening skills. It was concluded that flipbook learning media to improve listening skills in news texts was very feasible, practical, and effective in supporting learning to listen to news texts in class VII. It is hoped that further researchers will use this research as additional insight to carry out research.
