Abstract

This research aims to utilize computers as a tool for implementing information technology to enhance an individual's role as an information intermediary in tasks and processes, including the collection, transmission, processing, interpretation, storage, organization, and utilization of correspondence data to obtain high-quality information. The initial implementation of letter archive management involved manual recording of letters each day using a book, leading to insufficient detailed records of both incoming and outgoing letters, often resulting in difficulties in retrieving correspondence and impeding operational efficiency. The system development method employed is the waterfall method, characterized by the requirement to complete each step before advancing to the next, ensuring a systematic approach. The stages include software requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance. This study addresses the challenges associated with manual recording of correspondence data using books, overcoming issues of inaccuracy and lack of precision in recording both incoming and outgoing letters through the implementation of an archive management application. With the integration of this application, the letter data processing becomes more accurate, detailed, efficient, and prompt, especially with the structured storage of data in a database.

Abstract

Abstract

Bitung ferry port is a port that connects Lembeh Island, Talaud Island, Ternate Island and North Halmahera Island. The dock facilities at Bitung Ferry Port are in poor condition and have not met the standards in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 52 of 2004. To realize the implementation and appropriate operations, an evaluation of the dock facilities at the ferry port is needed. This research uses descriptive quantitative research. The author analyzes fenders and fender spacing analyzes the number of bolder and bolder spacing and analyzes efforts to maintain fenders, bolder and trestle. The results of this study, the type of fender that is in accordance with the impact strength of the ship is type V 600H with the number of fenders 7 and each fender is given a distance of 10.65 meters. In the bolder, the number of bolder that is in accordance with the characteristics of the operating ship is 4 bolder with a distance between bolder is 23.67 meters. The condition of the existing trestle at the Bitung Ferry Port, it is known that the condition of the asphalt section has cracked. The conclusion of this research is that the condition of the fenders, bolder and trestle at the Bitung Ferry Port is not in accordance with the needs. PT ASDP Bitung Branch does not have a routine schedule and appropriate Standard Operating Procedure stages in carrying out regular maintenance. There needs to be a routine schedule for fender, bolder and trestle maintenance.

Abstract

River and lake traffic signs play an important role in maintaining the safety of water navigation, but there is still a lack of understanding and supporting technology to recognize them automatically. This study aims to compare the performance of two popular object detection methods, namely YOLOv7 and Single Shot Multibox Detector (SSD), in identifying river and lake signs based on digital images. The dataset used consists of 6,650 images, including original data and data that has been augmented with visual degradation such as low resolution, noise, blur, lighting artifacts, occlusion, and cluttered background. This study evaluates the models based on accuracy, precision, and recall metrics. The test results show that YOLOv7 excels in all metrics, with the highest accuracy of 78%, compared to SSD which only reaches 70%. Both models experience a significant decrease in performance under occlusion and cluttered background conditions, but YOLOv7 still shows better resilience. Meanwhile, the blur condition is the degradation that least affects the performance of both models. These findings confirm that YOLOv7 is more robust to visual disturbances and can be a more effective alternative in automatic river and lake traffic sign recognition systems.
