Abstract

Good quality education can be seen from several factors, one of which is teacher motivation in carrying out teaching at school. With good motivation, a teacher can do his job well too. The way to increase a teacher's motivation is good payroll management. Effective payroll management is critical to maintaining teacher satisfaction and motivation. This article aims to find out how SMAN12 Surabaya manages salaries for civil servant and non civil servant teachers, where these salaries can influence teacher motivation in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Using qualitative methods and collecting data using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The research results show that at SMAN 12 Surabaya there are differences in salary management for PNS and non-PNS teaching staff, but salary management at SMAN 12 Surabaya can also influence teacher motivation to carry out their duties and responsibilities as a teacher to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pemanfaatan Sarana dan Prasarana dalam Meningkatkan Pendidikan Karakter Siswa di SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah : 1) Memahami serta menganalisis sarana dan prasarana apa saja yang ada di SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya; 2) Mengetahui program apa saja yang diterapkan di SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya yang dapat membentuk karakter siswa;3) Untuk mengetahui peran guru dalam mewu-judkan pendidikan karakter dengan memanfaatkan sarana dan prasarana yang ada di SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya 4) Untuk mengetahui kendala apa saja dalam mengem-bangankan sarana dan prasarana yang ada di SMP negeri 21 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua pendekatan metode yaitu metode wawancara dan metode observasi. Kata Kunci: Pemanfaatan, Pendidikan Karakter, Sarana Prasarana

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the Matheor application as an innovative tool in increasing students' interest in learning mathematics, particularly geometry, at the junior high school level. This study was conducted using a mixed-method approach, which combines qualitative and quantitative data collection to provide a comprehensive understanding of students' learning experiences and their engagement. Quantitative data were obtained through a structured survey using a 5-point Likert scale, while qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 15 selected students from three junior high schools in Surabaya, Indonesia. The results showed that the Matheor application significantly increased students' interest and motivation in learning to understand two-dimensional and three-dimensional geometry concepts. Most students reported increased engagement and satisfaction with mathematics learning after using the application. Qualitative data analysis revealed that Matheor's interactive and visual features helped students better understand abstract concepts. Although some students experienced challenges in the initial use of the application, they generally felt more confident and motivated to learn. The discussion of the results shows that educational technology, when well designed, can change the way students interact with difficult subject matter, such as geometry. This study concludes that Matheor has great potential to be integrated into the mathematics curriculum, supporting national education goals in strengthening STEM education. However, further research with larger and more diverse samples is needed to test the effectiveness of this application in various educational contexts.
