Abstract

A dictionary is more than a collection of words; it is a realm of knowledge and power where language, history, and ideology meet. This research aims to explore the representation and absence of etymological traces of socio-religious terms, particularly those of Arabic origin, in the online edition of the Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI). A critical analysis of several entries shows that although since 2018 the KBBI has started to include etymological notes for some Arabic-derived words, this move remains partial, inconsistent and problematic. Terms such as modin and muslihat appear with superficial or distorted etymological explanations, while important terms in Islamic discourse such as istirjāʻ, tayamum, and barakah are missing. On the other hand, the inclusion of sectarian terms-such as Ahlussunnah, Khawarij, and Wahabi-indicates an epistemological bias as well as a reflection of the particular ideological framework at work in the compilation of the dictionary. These findings show that the KBBI is not entirely neutral as a linguistic archive, but rather a discursive arena that produces and reproduces meanings in Indonesia's socio-political landscape. Thus, the dictionary does not only function as a linguistic tool, but also a field of cultural and ideological attraction, where the authority to define language becomes a contested political issue.

Abstract

Kampung Jati merupakan salah satu kampung yang berada di kecamatan Benda, Kota Tangerang. Problematika yang ada di kampung Jati salah satunya mengenai sarana dan prasarana umum. Minimnya fasilitas umum seperti toilet umum di kampung Jati membuat mahasiswa KKN atau pengunjung taman baca kesulitan mengakses toilet umum. Sehingga perlu pembangunan WC umum untuk memudahkan para pengunjung taman baca atau mahasiswa KKN melaksanakan program di kampung tersebut. Metode dalam pengabdian menggunakan metode sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Hasil dari program penyediaan fasilitas toilet umum, mahasiswa KKN berhasil membangun toilet umum dan dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat di kampung Jati, pengunjung Taman Baca, serta mahasiswa KKN selanjutnya yang akan melanjutkan pengabdian di kampung tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to increase interest in reading for early childhood children in Cibeteung Udik Village, Kp. Mosque Block. As a result of this activity, KKN students were able to complete the program, namely by establishing a 'Saung Baca' and increasing children's interest in reading.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted on Friday, 28 November 2025, at SMK Humanika, Ciherang, Bogor, with the aim of improving students’ digital and financial literacy as a preventive effort against adolescent involvement in online gambling and illegal online lending practices. The activity employed classroom-based education, case study–based material delivery, interactive simulations, and focused group discussions to encourage active student participation. The evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments as well as observations of student engagement. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of the legal, social, and psychological risks associated with online gambling and online lending, as reflected in increased post-test scores and students’ ability to identify and formulate school-based prevention strategies. The participatory and contextual approach proved effective in enhancing students’ critical awareness and decision-making skills. This community service initiative underscores the importance of integrating digital and financial literacy as well as anti–online gambling and online lending education into school programs as a sustainable effort to develop resilient youth who are protected from the risks of illegal digital practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of podcasts as an alternative medium in Islamic Education (PAI) learning and its impact on students’ understanding and learning outcomes at MTs Daarul Ihya Ciseeng. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with students of grades VII and VIII in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 21 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The CAR procedure consisted of action planning, implementation, observation and interpretation, as well as analysis and reflection carried out in two cycles. The findings show that the use of podcast media in PAI learning can increase students’ interest and learning outcomes. This is indicated by a significant increase in test scores. In cycle I, 14 students (66%) achieved the minimum mastery criterion (KKM) of 65, with an average score of 69.6. In cycle II, 18 students (85%) reached the KKM, with an average score of 75.7, indicating an increase of 6.1 points from cycle I. Thus, podcasts are effective as an alternative medium to improve students’ understanding and learning outcomes in PAI learning at MTs Daarul Ihya Ciseeng.
