Abstract

This article will examine the efforts of a group of middle-class urban Muslims in cultivating the piety. It will trace the working logic of the formation of pious subject, as a point of departure to comprehend the increasing of religious zeal of the middle-class urban Moslem. By exploration on the activity of the employee and leaders of a number of companies in the Santri Eksekutif program, we argue that the effort to be a pious subject is often related to and interplay with the aspirations of Islamization of public institutions and with neoliberal ethics. Furthermore, we argue that more than a quest for identity, religious expressions that are public are a form of requirement to be ethical and pious subjet. Through this article we aim to (1) describe a form of ethical and pious subject, (2) explore the formation process of the ethical and pious subject, and (3) accentuate the interplay and complex relationship between the process of cultivating piety, aspirations of Islamization of public institutions, and with neoliberal ethics. This article is based on ethnographic fieldwork in Jakarta and Bogor.

Abstract

The accountability system for elected officials in Indonesia is inherently linked with the electoral system that is applied to unravel the problem in the context of a symmetrical system of people's sovereignty. This article analyzes the dynamics of the current regulations on the accountability system of elected officials. However, this article would only focus on the accountability system for regional leaders (governor, mayor and regent), regional legislators (DPRD) and the senatorial regional delegates (DPD) in Indonesia and the participation of constituencies in proposing a recall system. The purpose of this research is to construct an accountability mechanism for regional heads, DPRD and DPD to their constituents that are appropriate and in line with the electoral system applied in Indonesia. This research is expected to be a material for consideration for policy makers and the Indonesian people in general in designing an accountability system for elected officials that is appropriate and in line with the applied electoral system. Abstract

This article aims to introduce Roy Bhaskar's philosophical system known as critical realism. The focus will be directed to the three phases of development in the Roy Bhaskar philosophical system, by putting each phase as response to the problems in the philosophy of science and the mainstream Western philosophical tradition as well as social and humanitarian problems in general. This article was compiled using a literature-based analysis, by examining the Bhaskar’s works as well as its proponents and critics. Based on the analysis, I argue that Roy Bhaskar's philosophy provides a solid foundation of thinking for the social and human sciences, especially for emancipatory social sciences. Bhaskar’s critical realism restores the ontological dimension of science and subsequently the deep ontology dimension of our world, which is removed and ignored by mainstream Western philosophical traditions, both modern and contemporary. The commitment to the ontology of science and the deep ontology of the world produces a more adequate foundation for social and human sciences and the possibility for the realization of human self-emancipation projects.

Abstract

The objectives of this service are, 1) to improve the understanding and competence of lecturers in writing and publishing scientific articles of international repute; 2) provide assistance to lecturers in writing scientific articles; 3) improve lecturers' understanding regarding how to publish scientific articles in international reputable journals. As a result of this activity, lecturers are able to understand and start writing scientific articles in accordance with the standards of international reputable journals and are able to select and sort out journals of international repute that are detected as 'discontinued'. This can be proven by their enthusiasm in participating in workshop activities and the mentoring process.

Abstract

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kompetensi dosen serta mahasiswa prodi keagamaan dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah. Metode dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan metode pendampingan yang terbagi menjadi tiga tahapan diantaranya yaitu tahapan pembukaan, tahapan inti, dan tahapan penutup. Hasil dari kegiatan ini dosen dan mahasiswa mampu memahami penulisan artikel ilmiah dengan baik sesuai dengan komponen-komponen dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil pendampingan yang dilakukan selama kegiatan pendampingan bahwa dosen dan mahasiswa sudah mampu memahami penulisan artikel ilmiah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi yang diterapkan oleh guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam mengatasi perilaku bullying di lingkungan sekolah, dengan fokus pada studi kasus di beberapa SMP dan MTs di Jakarta. Perilaku bullying di kalangan siswa menjadi isu yang semakin mengkhawatirkan, mengingat dampaknya yang negatif terhadap perkembangan psikologis dan akademis siswa. Guru PAI, sebagai pendidik yang berperan dalam pembentukan karakter dan moral siswa, diharapkan dapat memainkan peran kunci dalam mengatasi masalah ini melalui pendekatan berbasis nilai-nilai agama.Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru PAI, observasi partisipatif di kelas, dan analisis dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI di SMP dan MTs di Jakarta menerapkan berbagai strategi untuk mengatasi bullying, termasuk pendekatan preventif melalui pengajaran nilai-nilai Islam, intervensi langsung terhadap pelaku dan korban bullying, serta kolaborasi dengan guru bimbingan konseling dan orang tua. Strategi ini juga didukung oleh pembelajaran kontekstual yang mengaitkan ajaran agama dengan situasi kehidupan nyata yang dihadapi siswa. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini juga menemukan sejumlah tantangan yang dihadapi guru PAI, seperti keterbatasan waktu dalam kurikulum, kurangnya pelatihan khusus terkait penanganan bullying, serta resistensi dari siswa dan orang tua. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya penguatan peran guru PAI melalui pelatihan yang lebih intensif, serta peningkatan kerjasama antara pihak sekolah, orang tua, dan komunitas untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih kondusif bagi pencegahan bullying.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools often faces challenges in delivering abstract materials such as the solar system, especially due to the limited availability of interactive and interesting media. To overcome this, this study developed Prezi-based learning media assisted by virtual reality and songs as learning aids that are expected to improve students' understanding and learning experience. This study uses a development research method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The research stages include needs analysis, media design, product development, implementation in learning, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the media developed. Prezi media assisted by Virtual Reality and songs were tested through a series of validity and effectiveness tests to assess their quality in supporting learning. The results of expert validation showed that the media developed was categorized as very feasible, with a feasibility percentage reaching 92.85% from media experts and 93.75% from material experts. The validated media was then implemented in class 6 of SDN 6 Wulung with a population of 24 students. The results of the normality test showed a significance value above 0.05, which indicates that the data on all test results that had been carried out were normally distributed. There was an increase in learning scores as evidenced by the paired t-test value, which showed a value of 0.014 in small-scale classes and 0.000 in large-scale classes. In the N-Gain test conducted, the figure was 0.72, which is considered high in small-scale classes, and 0.69, which is considered moderate in large-scale classes. The use of Prezi and virtual reality technology combined with songs has been proven to be able to increase students' grades, interests, and involvement in learning. Thus, this media has the potential to be an innovative alternative in teaching science at the elementary school level. This study recommends further testing with a wider scope to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of media use in various learning conditions.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangat krusial dalam mempersiapkan generasi muda agar mampu bersaing di era global yang sarat dengan perkembangan teknologi. Dalam konteks ini, kemajuan teknologi, terutama di bidang Internet of Things (IoT), membawa dampak signifikan terhadap proses pembelajaran, baik dari segi metode maupun media yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa Kit Mikrokontroler ESP32 berbasis IoT sebagai alat bantu pengajaran pada elemen Pemrograman dan Aplikasi Mikrokontroler di SMKN 7 Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D), dengan mengadopsi model pengembangan yang dikemukakan oleh Borg dan Gall. Prosedur penelitian meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan dan permasalahan, pengumpulan data, perancangan media, validasi desain, uji coba terbatas, revisi produk, hingga evaluasi akhir. Pendekatan ini dipilih untuk menghasilkan produk pembelajaran yang memenuhi kriteria validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas. Berdasarkan hasil validasi, kit yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor validitas sebesar 89,44%, menunjukkan kategori sangat valid. Hasil evaluasi belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata mencapai 82,37, melampaui ambang batas Kriteria Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP). Selain itu, aspek kepraktisan media menunjukkan persentase sebesar 82,33%, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kit ESP32 berbasis IoT ini efektif dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif.
