Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is an abnormal condition of lipid metabolism which is characterized by an increase in lipid levels in the blood. Hyperlipidemia is often accompanied by other diseases. So the treatment of hyperlipidemia is often combined with other drugs and has the potential to increase the occurrence of drug interactions. Drug interaction is a condition in which a substance or drug activity can produce an increased or decreased effect or produce a new effect. This study aims to determine the presence of hyperlipidemic drug interactions in patients with diabetes mellitus Pertamina in one of the chemical pharmacies in Bandung based on the number of patients, number of cases, interaction mechanism and severity. This study uses a non-experimental research method with a descriptive approach and data collection is taken retrospectively based on prescription sheet data for the March 2021 period. The number of samples taken is 87 prescription sheets that meet the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed descriptively usingliterature Stockley's Drug Interaction Handbook. Abstract

Carrageenan as one of marine biota products is widely used in various industries such as food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, printing, and textile. Application and use of carrageenan in the manufacture of gels and other gel products is still very limited especially for cosmeceutical products. Caraageenan has the ability to form gels in a thermo-reversible waymaking it widely used as a gelling agent, thickener, stabilizer and additional permeation enhancement. Thereby this study aims to conduct how permeation study of Vitamin E an anti-oxidant in emulgels preparations using Carrageenan as gelling agents compare to another gelling agents (HPMC). In vitro permeation tests by Franz Diffusion Cell showed better result for emulgels Carrageenan than HPMC. The cumulative penetrated amounts of Vitamin E emulgels with Carrageenan was 5262.64±49.37 µg/cm2 while HPMC 4453.90±49.37, Fluks values for emulgels Carrageenan and HPMC was 29.24±0.27 and 24.75±0.27 respectively.

Abstract

Bulungan Regency, East Tanjung Palas District, especially in Tanjung Agung Village, there were recorded 24 children suffering from stunting, the majority of which were caused by factors including an unclean environment and lack of knowledge about nutrition that supports children's growth. One solution that can be implemented is the Positive Daviance Program in Providing Supplementary Feeding (PMT). The method used in this program is through the planning stage, implementation stage and program evaluation stage as well as assistance in making PMT and providing a little education to parents of toddlers. Where service members provide monitoring assistance to Mempesona Cadres and Toddler Mothers in the PMT making activity and also provide a little education to parents of toddlers regarding stunting management through Providing Supplementary Food (PMT). This activity aims to help improve the growth and development of children who are already experiencing stunting. The results of the Positive Daviance PMT activity which was carried out for 28 days with 2 weighing evaluations during the gradual increase in body weight. The results of the activity also show that there has been an increase in parents' awareness of children's nutrition, which must be met, namely almost 100%, through activities to educate parents of toddlers so that the handling of stunting, especially in the Tanjung Palas Timus subdistrict in Tanjung Agung Village, can be resolved immediately

Abstract

Liposomal vesicle formulations can be classified into two categories, namely rigid hard vesicles such as liposomes and elastic vesicles such as transferosome. One of the shortcomings of conventional liposomes is their permeation strength in the stratum corneum, so that in later generations liposomes are designed to be able to better overcome these obstacles. Deformable liposomes, also known as transfersomes, are liposomes that contain edge activators/surfactants. The combination of phospolipids with membrane softening agents allow the transfersome to penetrate pores that are five times smaller than their own diameter, even after it passes through small pores. Ethosomes are liposomes with modified ethanol that act as reservoir systems and offer the continuous delivery of drugs to the desired site. The high concentration of ethanol content in the manufacture of ethosome systems makes this system different from other vesicle systems, because the ethanol content will interfere with the double layer of skin lipids and thus increase the ability of vesicles to penetrate into the stratum corneum. Phospholipids in ethosomes serve as vesicular-forming components. Phospholipids are also reported to act synergistically with ethanol to improve drug permeation in ethosome formulations. Transethosomes are ethanol-based lipid vesicular systems resulting from modifications of ethosome and transfersome systems that can increase penetration in the skin. It is a new generation of the ethosome system which developed by increasing the flexibility of vesicles by redistributing edge activators and lipids on the skin. The mechanism of action of transethosomes is a combination of advantages of both transferosome systems and ethosomes.

Abstract

Increased pollution contributes to cases of atopic dermatitis, which is often treated with topical corticosteroid creams. This study assessed the preference for three creams from two generic industries and one patented product using an affinity test, namely the Hedonic Test and the Hedonic Quality Test. A total of 20 untrained panelists assessed aspects of odor, color, and texture using a 5-point hedonic scale. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan test. The results showed that texture had significant differences between Samples, with Sample B being rated the lowest. Aroma showed a tendency to differ, but not significantly, while colors were rated similar across all Samples. These findings indicate that product quality improvement should be focused on improving texture and aroma stability to increase consumer acceptance.

Abstract

Gastritis is a common gastrointestinal disorder that can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. Self-medication is a widely practiced method for relieving gastritis symptoms, but improper use of medications without adequate knowledge may result in adverse effects. This study aims to assess the public’s knowledge and behavior regarding self-medication for gastritis and examine its association with educational background, with a specific focus on the setting of a Sharia-based pharmacy. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used, involving 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected via online questionnaires and analyzed using chi-square tests. The findings show that the majority of respondents were aged 16–24 years and primarily obtained self-medication information from the internet (33%), followed by pharmacists (31%) and family or friends (26%). Despite the expectation that higher education correlates with better knowledge, the analysis showed no statistically significant relationship between education level and knowledge (p = 0.430), nor between education and self-medication behavior (p = 0.085). Furthermore, 94% of respondents reported never having practiced self-medication for gastritis. These results suggest a disconnect between access to information and actual health behavior. The study highlights the growing reliance on digital health sources and the persistent gap in health literacy, emphasizing the need for more structured and accessible health education to promote safe and responsible self-medication practices in the community, particularly among youth
