Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find learning model steps that are able to develop critical thinking skills, as well as to analyze students' learning outcomes. The combination of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) model steps is a learning strategy that is expected to be implemented effectively. The method used in this research is Research and Development. The research stages can be broken down as follows: (1) the preparation stage, (2) the Problem Based Learning and HOTS Model Development stage, (3) the model effectiveness analysis stage. The results of the research on the development of the Problem Based Learning and HOTS Model obtained an increase in students' critical thinking skills of 42.50, and learning outcomes with an average score of 86.14. Students' critical thinking gain of 0.75 is included in the high category. The conclusion from the research results is that the Problem Based Learning and HOTS models are effectively implemented in learning at SDN Kertak Hanyar, in other words can improve critical thinking skills, and student learning outcomes. As a follow-up to the results of this study, a wider dissemination of the steps of the Problem Based Learning and HOTS model will be carried out to teachers at Banjar Regency elementary schools

Abstract

21st century learning requires students to have 4C skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving and creativity and innovation). These skills are high-level thinking abilities or what we usually call HOTS. Critical thinking skills are very important in learning at school so learning and assessment must be designed to develop critical thinking skills. The evaluation tool used must take into account students' higher-order thinking abilities which encourage students to use HOTS abilities. The evaluation tools used in elementary schools are still not HOTS based, so they do not measure critical thinking abilities. Innovation to develop critical thinking evaluation tools in elementary school aims to: (1) produce an assessment instrument that can measure high-level thinking abilities (HOTS), (2) produce an assessment instrument that can measure critical thinking abilities. This research uses a type of development research (Research and Development). The results of the research state that the evaluation tool can be used as an assessment instrument capable of measuring higher order thinking abilities (HOTS) such as critical thinking skills

Abstract

The background of this study is the implementation of inclusive education in early childhood education (PAUD) in Banjarmasin, Indonesia. This research aims to assess the understanding and commitment of educators and parents towards inclusive education, as well as the strategies and challenges faced in accommodating various learning needs. The methodology used is a qualitative case study approach involving in-depth interviews with educators, parents and children with special needs, as well as participant observation in 3 inclusive PAUDs in Banjarmasin. The research results show that there is a strong commitment and understanding of the principles of inclusive education among educators and parents in Banjarmasin. Key findings include acceptance of children with diverse abilities and backgrounds, adapting curricula to meet individual needs, and developing collaboration between educators, parents, and the community. However, challenges such as lack of human resources, infrastructure, and societal stigma towards children with special needs have been identified. The implications show the need for increased budget allocations, comprehensive training for educators, infrastructure improvements, and community education to support inclusive education.

Abstract

Developing a reading habit from an early age is very beneficial for increasing children's insight and knowledge. This habit can be fostered through books, including textbooks. Textbooks can be used to introduce about wetland to early childhood. This introduction to the environment Introduction to the environment, especially wetland environments, fosters a sense of environmental concern in children, and also fosters awareness of love for the environment. The development of a wetland introduction textbook is well-designed, using language that is easy for children to understand and including images to facilitate children's understanding of the information. The type of research used in this study is research and development (R&D). The development model that will be used in the textbook is ADDIE development, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluate. The experiment was conducted several times, involving 15 children of A Kindergarten in the South Kalimantan area. In addition to A Kindergarten children, this study also involved 2 teachers and even involved a materials expert and a media expert to get a good textbook that is appropriate to the development of early childhood. Based on the results of the textbook trial, the increase in children who know the means of transportation and types of work in the wetland environment reached 40%, from initially only 5 children to 11 children who know about the means of transportation and types of work in the wetland environment. The results of the study show that the textbook is effective in introducing the wetland environment to early childhood. The textbook also got a positive response from teachers and parents.
