Abstract

Despite the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program for over two years, the critical thinking skills and independence of students in the learning process have not yet reached optimal levels. This study aims to investigate the impact of project-based learning (PjBL) student worksheets on critical thinking skills and student independence in social studies courses. The research employed a quasi-experimental design. The population comprised all fourth-semester elementary education students, totaling 256 students distributed evenly across nine classes. The sample consisted of fourth-semester PGSD students. Data collected included scores from critical thinking skills tests. Data analysis methods included descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis, specifically using MANOVA tests. The results indicated a significant difference between the group of students who engaged in learning with PjBL-based worksheets and the group that did not, in terms of critical thinking skills. The group using PjBL-based worksheets had a higher average critical thinking score, with a difference of 9.76 points. This finding suggests that PjBL approaches significantly encourage and enhance students' critical thinking skills. Additionally, the results showed that student independence was also higher in the group using PjBL-based worksheets, with a noted difference of 7.47 points. It is recommended to strengthen the implementation of PjBL worksheets in the curriculum or teaching strategies and provide training for educators to effectively integrate PjBL worksheets into their teaching.

Abstract

Abstract

The issue of religious tolerance is currently being hotly discussed. Even the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology has listed it as one of the three major sins of education. The problem of religious tolerance is also felt at the PAUD level, including at RA Ath-Thooriq Singaraja. So far, teachers have had difficulty choosing the right way to teach religious tolerance to early childhood there. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge and skills to RA Ath-Thooriq Singaraja teachers in making religious finger puppets as an effort to instill a character of religious tolerance in early childhood. The method used in this community service activity is to hold training activities for 12 RA Ath-Thooriq Singaraja teachers. Data from the results of the activity were collected using interviews, observations and documentation in the form of photos of the activity. The results obtained were increased knowledge and skills of teachers in making religious finger puppets after this community service activity was carried out.

Abstract

The provision of optimal feedback to elementary school students often lacks effectiveness due to the absence of structured assessment instruments. This study aims to develop a SMART-based (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) non-test assessment instrument that is valid, practical, and effective in supporting feedback optimization. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a Research and Development (R&D) approach. The trial subjects included fourth-grade homeroom teachers and fourth-grade elementary students. Instrument validity was assessed using Gregory's calculation theory, while practicality was evaluated based on field implementation. The instrument integrates SMART principles to ensure its measurability in providing feedback that is specific, relevant, and aligned with students' needs. The findings indicate that the instrument has linguistic, content, and design validity, categorized as "Highly Valid." It was also deemed practical by teachers in its application, proving effective for use in the learning process. In conclusion, the SMART-based non-test assessment instrument can assist teachers in delivering optimal feedback, supporting the achievement of learning objectives, and is suitable for sustainable implementation.

Abstract

This study investigates verbal bullying in elementary schools, which commonly occurs in the form of mockery, name-calling, and verbal abuse. This study aims to identify the causes and impacts of verbal bullying and offer a strategy for its prevention through the integration of mutual respect social skills in the learning process. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with interviews and observations at SDN 3 Kebon Padangan, the findings indicate that verbal bullying is mainly caused by students’ lack of empathy and social awareness. The school’s current efforts, such as involving teachers and parents in problem-solving, are still insufficient. Therefore, this study proposes the integration of mutual respect skills in classroom activities as a strategic solution to foster empathy, reduce bullying, and create a more harmonious school environment.
