Abstract

Technology usage for elevating work productivity still cannot be separated from human control. Therefore, company performance will be affected by the operator’s quality. Computer interaction, as an example of technology used, is dominating the work performed. Continuous and repetitive used will affect the occupational health. Hence, it will increase the risk of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is defined as a collection of symptoms related to eyes caused by computer usage and affected by several factors. Those factors can be divided into individual and external factors. The problem of this research is to determine whether there is a relationship between CVS with the internal and external factors. The type of research is non experimental quantitative with correlational research design and cross sectional approach. While the respondents are twelve operators of Refinery Central Control Room (RCCR). Spearman Rho test is used to find relationship among variables. The results from this research indicate that there is correlation between age and the resulting CVS symptoms with the value of p is 0,04 (p<0 05). But, there are no correlation between CVS and other factors (eye glasses, length of work duration, break time, eye sides distance). Not all internal and external factors have correlation with the accuracy of CVS. This Research shows correlation between internal factors and CVS. It was aging. Aging is degenerative processes which lower the body function periodically. Therefore, there are correlation between age and CVS. But, there are not for other factors.

Abstract

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has occurred throughout the world has hampered the world of education in carrying out the learning process. It requires the world of education to make rapid changes to the concept of learning so that the results of the learning process remain following the curriculum. However, during a pandemic, students are forced to study from home. Of course, this limits the essence of the practicum, which has to be done in the laboratory because students need interaction activities with machines. Augmented reality (A.R.) is a technology that allows users to interact with virtual objects. In this study, the application design is carried out using the rapid prototyping method, which can quickly accommodate the application development process. This study proves that AR-based applications can increase the understanding of 58% of students about the use of lathe, milling and 3D printing machines.

Abstract

Inventory plays an important role in a company's production process, especially in the sustainable manufacturing industry. The inventory of raw materials such as rayon, polyester, and cotton is an essential element that needs to be controlled to maintain a smooth production process. This research aims to plan and control raw materials through the min-max method, with a focus on evaluating inventory control to identify and overcome existing problems in the raw material warehouse at a yarn and textile manufacturing company. The results show that each type of raw material has a different reorder level, which guides the company in avoiding the risk of shortage or excess stock. By applying the right reorder level, the company can improve its production efficiency and inventory management. This research contributes to the practice of inventory control in the sustainable manufacturing industry, which supports operational stability and minimizes resource wastage. The implications of the findings could expand the application of min-max method-based inventory control in other industries to support operational sustainability.

Abstract

Good work environment conditions can affect the increase in worker productivity. One of the work environment factors that needs to be considered is distraction. Noise problems not only interfere with concentration but can also damage workers' hearing and reduce overall work safety. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the noise level in the work area in the production process of a company engaged in the metal casting industry and provide recommendations that can reduce the negative impact on the workforce. This measurement uses Decibel X with a time interval of five seconds, and then data processing is carried out to determine the LTm5 value. The measurement results show that the level of disturbance in some work areas exceeds the recommended threshold, increasing the risk of worker health problems. To reduce this negative impact, the study provides the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as earplugs, as well as the implementation of occupational safety and health (OHS) socialization. This research makes an essential contribution to the management of nuisance risks in industrial environments, especially in improving worker safety and health through effective mitigation strategies.

Abstract

Quality control is an effort to ensure that the products produced meet the specified standards. The regular slotted containers (RSC) produced by PT. XYZ carry a high risk of defects during the production process, which can decrease product quality and company profitability. This study aims to evaluate the conformity of the production process with quality standards and to identify the root causes of defects and their improvement priorities. The methods used are Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to systematically identify the root causes of defects, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to assess risk levels and develop improvement recommendations. The results revealed 38 types of defects, with delamination as the most dominant defect, caused by improper glue gap settings. Contributing factors include a lack of machine automation, fluctuations in raw material humidity, and inadequate glue gap inspections. The FMEA analysis showed that failures due to glue gap issues had the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN), which was 240, making it the top priority for improvement efforts. Recommended corrective actions include the implementation of automatic sensors, operator training, control of raw material humidity, and standardization of production parameters. The combined use of FTA and FMEA has proven to be effective in addressing quality issues in the company.PENGENDALIAN KUALITAS PROSES PRODUKSI REGULAR SLOTTED CONTAINERS MENGGUNAKAN FAILURE MODE AND EFFECT ANALYSIS DAN FAULT TREE ANALYSISPengendalian kualitas merupakan upaya untuk memastikan bahwa produk yang dihasilkan memenuhi spesifikasi yang telah ditetapkan.
