Abstract

One indicator of success in maintaining stable blood sugar levels in diabetics is dietary adherence. Dietary adherence is essential to successfully control blood sugar levels. Patient non-compliance with diet can have a negative impact on the severity of diabetes experienced, thus requiring a longer treatment process. Based on an initial survey of around 210 patients recorded as participating in PROLANIS throughout 2022, only 30 people have routinely participated since the pandemic began in December 2021 at Puskesmas Simpang Tiga.  This study aims to determine the relationship between prolanis activities and dietary compliance of patients with diabetes mellitus. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in 2023 at the Simpang Tiga Health Center. The research sample amounted to 138 respondents. Data collection tools using a research questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. The results showed that there was a relationship between medical consultation (p value 0.000) and group education (p value 0.000) with dietary compliance in the prolanis program. This study recommends that Puskesmas Simpang Tiga, especially Puskesmas officers, organize the PROLANIS program in improving health monitoring for diabetes mellitus respondents and encourage respondents to attend PROLANIS activities via SMS gateway or Whatsapp group in order to help improve compliance.Keywords: Education, Prolanis, Health Center.

Abstract

Inadequate knowledge of husbands about exclusive breastfeeding will lead to low husband support, thus reducing the success of the exclusive breastfeeding process. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and husband support in exclusive breastfeeding at Eria Bunda Hospital. This study used a quantitative analytic research design with a cross sectional study design. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, so that the sample in this study was 70 respondents. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire and data analysis using the chi square test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p value, 0.048) and husband support (p value 0.000) in exclusive breastfeeding at Eria Bunda Hospital. This study provides advice that health workers make efforts to improve the health services of medical personnel and nurses in health education through socialization and counseling on the importance of the breastfeeding process in order to increase husband's knowledge as an effort to increase husband's support in the breastfeeding process.Keywords: Knowledge, Husband Support, Exclusive Breastfeeding

Abstract

Overnutrition is more common among adolescents. In Indonesia, lack of physical activity, poor quality of sleep due to daily schedules, and the consumption of sweet, fatty, and fast foods are the main contributing factors. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the frequency of consumption of sweet caffeinated beverages and sleep quality with nutritional status in adolescents in high school 5 Tambun Selatan. This study used quantitative research with observational analysis using a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 101 individuals randomly chosen by a simple random sampling method. Data were collected using the Food Frequency Questionnaire and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index with the determination of the nutritional status of adolescents obtained from Z-score BMI/U. The Chi-Square test results indicated significant correlations exist between the frequency of sweet caffeinated beverages consumption and nutritional status (p=0.045) but no significant correlations were found between sleep quality and nutritional status (p=0.797) in adolescents in high school 5 Tambun Selatan.

Abstract

Breakfast contributes energy by 25% of the level of total daily energy needs. One third of the students of SMP IT Nurul Fajar Cikarawang Village have poor breakfast habits and quality. Adolescence is the most important phase in the formation of an individual's eating habits. A teenager's eating habits consist of knowledge related to breakfast, one's attitudes and practices towards breakfast. Knowledge-based practices will last a long time, therefore it is important for adolescents to obtain nutrition education from various sources, one of which is school. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of nutrition education interventions on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of adolescents regarding breakfast. The design of this study was a quasi experimental and purposive sampling method with a sample size of 57 7th and 8th grade students aged 12-15 years at SMP IT Nurul Fajar, Cikarawang Village. The healthy breakfast nutrition education intervention was given in 2 sessions with a duration of 50 minutes for each session. The media used in this research include leaflets, posters, videos, and materials in the form of power points. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the knowledge and attitude scores of adolescents regarding healthy breakfast (p≤0.05), while the practice of breakfast in adolescents experienced an insignificant increase (p0.05). Nutrition education interventions have an impact on increasing adolescent knowledge and attitudes regarding healthy breakfast, but the impact is not seen on adolescent breakfast practices. This is because the duration and frequency of nutrition education are too short, so nutrition education interventions are needed with a longer frequency and duration.

Abstract

One of the signs of puberty experienced by young women is menstruation, some young women experience pain known as dysmenorrhea during menstruation. Iron is one of the essential nutrients for adolescent reproduction, and its deficiency can increase the risk of dysmenorrhea. Stress can also affect Dysmenorrhea, as stress can lead to hormonal imbalances and the secretion of prostaglandin hormones produced by stress. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between iron intake and stress levels with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls at PB Soedirman Islamic High School Bekasi. This study uses an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design, and data collection using consecutive sampling techniques with 100 respondents. Data were collected through semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaires (SQ-FFQ) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and determining the incidence of dysmenorrhea using dysmenorrhea questionnaires. The results measured by Chi-square test, showed p-values for iron intake (0.010) and stress levels (0.002). This study found a significant correlation between stress levels and iron intake in adolescent girls in PB Soedirman Islamic High School Bekasi.

Abstract

Malnutrition is an important prognostic factor in elderly patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Puddings can support nutritional intake in elderly patients with CHD. This study aims to develop a special dietary food product Firin Sutlac Pumpkin, a low-fat pudding. This study uses a complete random design with three formulas that combine yellow pumpkin and rice with different ratios, namely S1 (60:40), S2 (50:50), and S3 (40:60). The samples obtained were analyzed by organoleptic tests (hedonic test and hedonic quality). This study showed that increasing yellow pumpkin puree affected panelists’ preference for color, aroma, texture, and taste attributes. The estimated nutritional content of fiber also increased according to the increment of yellow pumpkin puree usage. The most optimal formula is 60% yellow pumpkin puree pudding (S3). S3 Firin Sutlac pudding contains 99.08 kcal of energy, 4.5 g of protein, 2.89 g of fat, 17.17 g of carbohydrates, and 0.89 g of fiber. A 100 g serving of S3 pudding contributes to 5.21-6.39% of the energy requirement for elderly aged 65-80 years and is eligible to be claimed as a low-fat food product.

Abstract

Abstrak Olahraga panahan memerlukan akurasi dan kondisi fisik optimal, sehingga asupan gizi menjadi faktor penting. Status gizi yang baik mendukung performa atlet, namun pengetahuan gizi, pola makan, dan aktivitas fisik dapat menjadi faktor risiko. Penelitian bertujuan untuk hubungan ketiga faktor tersebut dengan status gizi atlet panahan PERPANI Kota Bandar Lampung. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain analitik kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional pada 30 atlet berusia 13-18 tahun. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan pengukuran antropometri (IMT/U), dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat (chi-square). Hasil menunjukkan 50% atlet berstatus gizi baik, 30% gizi lebih, dan 16,67% obesitas. Sebanyak 90% memiliki pengetahuan gizi rendah, dengan pola makan cukup (53,33%) atau berlebih (46,67%). Aktivitas fisik didominasi tingkat cukup tinggi (36,67%). Analisis statistik menunjukkan hubungan signifikan antara pola makan dan status gizi (p=0,000), tetapi tidak dengan pengetahuan gizi (p=0,785) atau aktivitas fisik (p=0,725). Simpulan: intervensi gizi perlu fokus pada perbaikan pola makan untuk optimalkan status gizi atlet panahan. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan Gizi, Pola Makan, Aktivitas Fisik, Status Gizi

Abstract

Kualitas sumber daya manusia sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas dan sistem pendidikan. Tidak hanya pengelola sekolah dan tim pendidik, namun pemerintah sebagai regulator juga memainkan peran penting dalam menciptakan dan membentuk sistem dan aturan yang pro terhadap pembangunan dan menjaga keberlanjutan kualitas setiap anak didik, sehingga kelak mereka dapat lulus dengan kualitas mumpuni dan siap berkompetisi baik secara nasional atau global. Sesi FGD ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan mengidentifikasi berbagai topik atau fenomena yang hangat untuk dibahas dan memiliki nilai urgensi bagi pendidik dan pengelola institusi pendidikan, karena dosen pengabdi menilai institusi pendidikan dewasa ini dihadapkan pada berbagai tantangan untuk berubah dan berbenah menuju kearah yang lebih baik. Hasil dari tahapan FGD kemudian disimpulkan bahwa dosen pengabdi bersepakat untuk membahas tentang bagaimana kepemimpinan pada suatu institusi pendidikan mampu meningkatkan kinerja segenap sumber daya manusianya dan juga kinerja institusi. Simpulan dari sesi sharing dengan topik peran kepemimpinan yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja institusi pendidikan menyimpulkan bahwa institusi pendidikan memegang peran yang penting dan krusial bagi peningkatan daya saing dan kompetensi sumber daya manusia di Indonesia. Kualitas pendidikan dipengaruhi oleh kinerja dan kualitas dari sumber daya manusia yang jadi pendidik di institusi pendidikan.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is experiencing a triple burden of malnutrition, defined as the coexistence of undernutrition, overnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies. The majority of previous research has focused on the first 1000 days of life, while studies on school-age children remain limited, despite this developmental period being crucial for determining future health and well-being. Objectives: The objective of this study is to analyze the prevalence of undernutrition, overnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies among primary school children in Bogor, Indonesia. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 915 fourth- and fifth-grade students who were selected for inclusion. The collected data encompassed individual characteristics, family socioeconomic status, anthropometric measurements (actual body weight, height, and skinfold thickness), and blood biomarkers. Nutritional status was assessed using BMI-for-age (BMI/A), body fat percentage (Slaughter equation), hemoglobin levels (non-cyanide method), and serum concentrations of vitamin A and B12 (Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry, LCMS). Results: The prevalence of chronic energy deficiency was 2.4%, overnutrition (overweight and obesity) was 12.4%, and high body fat was 12.8%. Micronutrient deficiencies were prevalent, with 40.1% of subjects experiencing anemia, 18.6% exhibiting vitamin A deficiency, and 52.2% demonstrating vitamin B12 deficiency. No statistically significant differences were found in nutritional status between boys and girls, as measured by BMI/A and blood biomarkers. However, girls had significantly higher body fat percentages (p-value<0.001). Conclusions: The prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies was found to exceed that of both undernutrition and overnutrition. Further research is needed to explore the underlying factors contributing to these nutritional issues, considering various covariates. Targeted and specific interventions are critical in order to prevent and address the triple burden of malnutrition among primary school children in Bogor, Indonesia.

Abstract

Masih tingginya angka kematian pada ibu dan bayi disebabkan  status gizi yang buruk pada ibu hamil. Adapun akibat dari status gizi yang buruk pada ibu hamil adalah KEK (Kurang Energi Kronis). Prevalensi KEK pada ibu hamil di Kabupaten Pringsewu berdasarkan Laporan Gizkia Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pringsewu pada tahun 2023 mencapai 11.9%. Berdasarkan laporan Puskesmas Pringsewu  angka KEK ibu hamil pada tahun 2023 mencapai 9% dan bedasarkan laporan Puskesmas Pringsewu, angka KEK pada ibu hamil pada semester satu (Januari-Juni 2024) sebesar 8.5%. Tujuan penelitain ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi status gizi ibu hamil berdasarkan lingkar lengan atas di Puskesmas Pringsewu. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan observasional analitik dengan desain Cross Sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu hamil yang berjumlah 118 orang, sedangkan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 52 orang dengan teknik pengambilan accidental sampling. Analisis bivariat dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada 11 (21,2%) ibu hamil dengan status gizi KEK dan 41 (78,8%) ibu hamil dengan status gizi normal. Hasil uji statistik diperoleh ada hubungan antara tingkat pendapatan keluarga (p=0,023) dan frekuensi konsumsi makanan (p=0,01) dengan status gizi ibu hamil berdasarkan lingkar lengan atas. Tidak ada hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan (p=0,461) dengan status gizi ibu hamil berdasarkan lingkar lengan atas.
