Abstract

Improving livestock health is an important aspect of conserving and fulfillment the nutritional needs of animal sources. Healthy livestock are able to achieve maximum productivity. The purpose of this service was to provide education to farmer and animal health services in local villages. This activity was carried out on January 28-30, 2022 in Linamnutu Village, South Amanuban District, South Central Timor Regency. The method of implementing this service activity includes: (1) counseling on livestock maintenance management to farmers, (2) livestock health services such as physical examination, administered vitamins and medication, (3) distributed chicken eggs to students at SD Negeri Linamnutu. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in knowledge and awareness of farmers in implementing good management of livestock maintenance, so that livestock become healthy and productive, as well as fulfill of nutrition for the community, especially for children in their growing period.

Abstract

This article reports on community service activities aimed at raising awareness among 6th-grade students of Tes Catholic Elementary School about the negative impacts of hunting and consuming wildlife. In this activity, we carry out a series of educational programs that include counseling, interactive discussions, and the use of visual media to convey information. The material presented covered the role of wildlife in the ecosystem, the risk of extinction, and the importance of conservation. Evaluations were conducted before and after the program, demonstrating a significant improvement in students' understanding of conservation and the impact of hunting. This activity is expected to form a positive attitude and encourage students to become agents of change in their communities.

Abstract

Animal coloring and role-playing activities carried out at PAUD Tunas Harapan, Napan Village, aim to stimulate the cognitive, social emotional, and motor development of early childhood. Through this activity, children are invited to get to know various types of animals, develop their imagination, and train their motor skills. The results of implementing the activity show that it can improve children's ability to recognize colors, shapes, and the names of animals. In addition, children become more active and creative. Thus, it can be concluded that coloring and role-playing activities are effective learning methods for developing various aspects of early childhood development.

Abstract

Program ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pemanfaatan antihelmintik, khususnya Nemasol (Levamisole), dalam mengatasi infestasi cacing pada ternakkambing di Desa Napan. Kambing merupakan sumber protein hewani yang penting bagi masyarakat, namun sering mengalami masalah kesehatan akibat helminthiasis, yang dapat mengganggu kemampuan pencernaan dan pertumbuhan mereka. Infestasi cacing parasit, seperti Oesophagostomum, Trichuris, dan Haemonchus, dapat berdampak signifikan pada kesehatan kambing, mengakibatkan kehilangan nutrisi dan produktivitas. Program pembagian obat cacing dilakukan secara door to door dan mendapatkan respons antusias dari warga, banyak di antaranya yang belum pernah memberikan obat cacing sebelumnya. Hasil monitoring satu minggu setelah pemberian obat menunjukkan bahwa banyak kambing mengalami peningkatan kesehatan dan nafsu makan. Beberapa kambing juga berhasil mengeluarkan cacing melalui feses. Meskipun sebagian besar responden melaporkan hasil positif, terdapatbeberapa peternak yang belum memberikan obat cacing karena kesibukan. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar program pelayanan kesehatan hewan dilaksanakan secara rutin dengan pendekatan yang lebih sistematis, sehingga peternak lebih sadarakan pentingnya pemberian obat cacing secara berkala untuk meningkatkankesehatan dan produktivitas kambing secara berkelanjutan.
