Abstract

Currently, there are many illegal activities happening in several beauty clinics. Therefore, this study discusses legal protection for consumers who experience facial damage after receiving treatments at Sams Aesthetic Beauty in Medan, as well as the forms of compensation obtained by consumers who suffer such damage. This research uses an empirical juridical method with a literature review and field research approach, focusing on descriptive analysis. Based on the research findings, Sams Aesthetic Beauty Clinic provides informed consent forms or agreements as legal protection for consumers before undergoing treatments. The compensation received by consumers includes continuous consultations with doctors, and the clinic takes responsibility to provide appropriate treatments to address facial issues until the consumer's face returns to its original condition at no additional cost.

Abstract

The testing of starch and protein in glucose and starch solutions was conducted using the Molisch test and other methods. Glucose, as a monosaccharide, serves as the main energy source, while starch, being a polysaccharide, must first be broken down into monosaccharides before it can be utilized. Carbohydrates, such as glucose and starch, provide energy and support food metabolism and characteristics such as taste, color, and texture. The methods applied in this review include literature studies on the chemical testing of starch and protein, focusing on the Molisch test for detecting carbohydrates in biological samples. Various approaches, including color-change-based methods and other analytical techniques, were used to measure starch and protein in glucose and starch solutions. The review findings highlight the importance of a thorough understanding of starch characteristics and its modification to enhance its utility in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. These findings support the use of pregelatinized starch and the exploration of alternative carbohydrates sources to improve food quality and variety. Qualitative tests, such as Benedict's, detect reducing sugars in foods, while temperature increases affect the moisture content and compaction of starch, especially in pregelatinized cassava starch. In conclusion, starch testing methods like iodine and Molisch tests are effective for analyzing starch and carbohydrates, while the ratio of starch to water and temperature play key roles in influencing the physical properties of starch.

Abstract

Character education, especially in understanding and applying Pancasila values, is an important aspect in forming the character of elementary school students in Indonesia. However, conventional learning approaches are often ineffective in attracting students' interest and understanding of these values. Therefore, developing the Monopoly game as a differentiated learning medium to implement the Pancasila Student Profile is important to increase the effectiveness of learning Pancasila values in elementary schools. The aim of this research is to develop a monopoly game that can be used in differentiation learning to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile of elementary school students. Specifically, the objectives of this research are (1) identifying students' learning needs in understanding and applying Pancasila values in differentiated classes (2) designing a monopoly game that suits the learning needs and profile of Pancasila students (3) testing the effectiveness of the monopoly game in improving understanding and application of Pancasila values to elementary school students. This research method uses the ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) approach in developing the monopoly game as a learning medium. Research steps include analysis of student needs and characteristics, monopoly game design, development of game prototypes, implementation in learning, evaluation of effectiveness. The research method involves collecting qualitative and quantitative data with tests, questionnaires, observations, and interviews with students and teachers.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to examine the influence of leverage, liquidity, profitability, and institutional ownership on firm value with environmental performance as a moderating variable. The population in this study consists of coal sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2019 – 2023. The data analysis technique used in this study is panel data regression. The analysis results show that leverage does not affect firm value, liquidity negatively affects firm value, profitability positively affects firm value, institutional ownership does not affect firm value, environmental performance does not affect firm value, environmental performance cannot moderate the effect of leverage on firm value; environmental performance can moderate the effect of liquidity on firm value; environmental performance can moderate the effect of profitability on firm value. This study implies that companies need to focus on improving profitability and effective liquidity management while paying attention to environmental practices because environmental performance can strengthen the positive impact of profitability and reduce the negative impact of liquidity. For investors, environmental performance is an important consideration in assessing a company's ability to manage risk and create value.

Abstract

Household waste management is a crucial issue that impacts health, the environment, and sustainability. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, facilities, and policies with household waste management behavior in Karang Intan Subdistrict, Banjar Regency. A cross-sectional design was applied involving 130 respondents selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0.009) and attitudes (p = 0.028) with household waste management behavior. Facilities showed a positive but non-significant relationship (p = 0.082), while policies indicated a significant negative relationship (p = 0.026). In conclusion, increasing knowledge and fostering positive attitudes are key factors in improving household waste management behavior, while the effectiveness of policies requires reinforcement through proper socialization and targeted implementation. Practical implications highlight the need for continuous community education and stronger enforcement of local policies to achieve sustainable household waste management.
