Abstract

This study aims to foster the growth of cooperation and responsibility through classroom cleaning activities in maintaining the environment at elementary schools. The method used in this study is a subjective qualitative approach, where data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The participants of the study were fifth-grade students. The results of the study indicate that classroom cleaning activities significantly contribute to the enhancement of students' cooperation and responsibility. During cleaning activities, students learn to work together with classmates in completing cleaning tasks and maintaining school facilities. They also show increased responsibility towards the cleanliness of their classroom and school environment. Teachers reported that students involved in cleaning activities exhibited positive changes in social interactions and increased awareness of school cleanliness. This study concludes that classroom cleaning activities are an effective way to instill cooperation and responsibility among elementary school students. The recommendations are for schools to sustain and develop classroom cleaning programs as part of character education curricula. Additionally, active participation of teachers in supervising and providing feedback during cleaning activities is crucial to maximize the benefits for students

Abstract

This research is motivated by the decline in student character caused by the Distance Learning System (PJJ) during the Covid-19 pandemic. To address this issue, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Mendikbudristek) launched the Merdeka Curriculum along with its innovation, the Project Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5). The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of P5 in shaping student character at MTsN 12 Jakarta. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the implementation of P5 involves three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the planning stage, the formation of the P5 facilitator team, school readiness assessment, design of dimensions, themes, and time allocation, as well as the preparation of modules and reporting strategies, were carried out. The implementation stage includes monitoring, optimization, and project closure activities. Evaluation is conducted through two-way discussions, observation, and the use of rubrics and questionnaires. The P5 activities have successfully shaped various student characters, such as being religious, nationalist, independent, cooperative, and having integrity, which are reflected in their daily activities.

Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of the Frayer Model as an innovative strategy to enhance vocabulary acquisition among eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Tompobulu. Responding to the urgent need for more engaging and concept-driven vocabulary instruction, the study employed a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group and a control group (n = 25 each). Both groups completed pre- and post-tests using multiple-choice questions. Statistical analysis using SPSS 22 revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s mean score (from 36.80 to 76.80), compared to the control group (from 50.88 to 55.52). The t-test results (t = 5.951, p < 0.05) confirmed the effectiveness of the Frayer Model over conventional methods. These findings highlight the model’s potential to stimulate deeper student engagement and vocabulary retention, offering valuable pedagogical contributions for English language teaching in secondary education.

Abstract

Infusion is a medical procedure involving the delivery of fluids, medications, nutrients, or other substances into a patient's circulatory system through intravenous flow. In its implementation, commonly used infusion tools are infusion pumps and syringe pumps, as these devices assist in accurately and precisely controlling the flow rate. However, with continuous usage, there is a potential for inaccuracies in measuring the flow rate of fluids from these devices. Therefore, periodic calibration is necessary. According to Regulation No. 54 of 2015 from the Ministry of Health, calibration of medical devices, including infusion devices, must be conducted at least once a year to ensure their ongoing accuracy. The purpose of this research is to design an Infusion Device Analyzer (IDA) with a flow rate parameter. The contribution of this research is that the tool can accurately calculate the correct value of the flow rate that comes out of the infusion pump and syringe pump. One of the innovations resulting from this study is the Infusion Device Analyzer, equipped with a 7-inch TFT LCD screen that displays graphical parameters of the flow rate. This is achieved through the use of Infrared Photodiode sensors, which measure the rate of fluid flow. The performance graph displayed on the TFT LCD can visualize the stability of fluid flow when using various types of devices like syringe pumps and infusion pumps. The results of this research show a range of error values in the performance of various brands of infusion devices. When using the Terumo Syringe Pump, there is an error value of 0.86% (100 mL/h) for Channel 1 and 0.69% (100 mL/h) for Channel 2. For the B-Braun Syringe Pump, the error value is 1.30% (100 mL/h) for Channel 1 and 0.85% (10 mL/h) for Channel 2.

Abstract

Islamic Microfinance Institutions play a strategic role in providing financial services that comply with Sharia principles, including through innovative savings products that benefit members. One of the products offered by KSPPS Artha Yasmin Az Zahra Jepara is the Simpanan Sembako (Simko) savings program. Compliance with fatwas and Sharia principles is a crucial factor in maintaining member trust and ensuring the legality of transactions. This study aims to analyze Sharia compliance in the Simko savings product at KSPPS Artha Yasmin Az Zahra, focusing on the issue of implementing Sharia compliance in the practice of Simko. Using a qualitative case study approach, primary data were obtained through direct field research, including interviews with the Manager, members, and the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) of KSPPS Artha Yasmin Az Zahra, Jepara Regency. Secondary data were obtained from various sources such as reports, documents, and other materials relevant to the discussion of compliance with Sharia contracts. The results of the study indicate that KSPPS Artha Yasmin Az Zahra has implemented the Simko product in accordance with Sharia principles. The product is free from elements of riba, gharar, and maisir, and is in line with DSN-MUI fatwas regarding Wadiah and savings contracts. Nevertheless, challenges remain in its implementation, particularly regarding members’ understanding of the contract used. This is mainly due to the low level of Sharia literacy among members and the suboptimal socialization efforts from the KSPPS management.

Abstract

The risk of hypertension increases progressively with age. The urgency to prevent further complications by providing appropriate information and management will improve the quality of life of patients with hypertension. The goal of this community service activity is to improve management and adherence to therapy, as well as changes to a healthy lifestyle to control blood pressure. This activity method involves counseling and education on hypertension management in the community. This can be implemented by providing education and distributing leaflets or brochures, making it easier for patients to recognize their disease and lifestyle control to improve their quality of life. Counseling can be done through presentations, while we carried out education and information by distributing leaflets to the Dadung hamlet community through the PKK women's group. The results of this activity, which implemented a community-based hypertension education program, have been proven to lower blood pressure and improve medication adherence. Promotional and preventive efforts for non-communicable diseases need to be continuously developed and supported by adequate policies. Counseling and education on hypertension aim to increase public knowledge about this disease, including risk factors, prevention, and the importance of regular treatment. Previous research has shown that providing health information directly by pharmacists can improve patient compliance in taking medication and maintaining blood pressure control. The conclusion of this community service activity is that a community-based hypertension education program has been proven to lower blood pressure and improve medication adherence. The education and counseling on hypertension aims to increase public knowledge about the disease, including risk factors, prevention, and the importance of regular medication.
