Abstract

Maintenance of the ship is a task aimed at ensuring that the ship continues to operate in a normal and seaworthy condition. This work is related to the ship's machinery system and other equipment on board. If the ship does not receive regular maintenance, it can impact the condition and performance of the ship. By implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), information about the steps needed to ensure optimal operation of the engine or equipment can be obtained. RCM is a method used to develop Preventive Maintenance. In Time Directed (TD), there are two components, namely the schottel Asd component and the valve on the cylinder head. In Condition Directed (CD), there are three components found in the three pipe components: fuel pipe, oil, and engine coolant. In Failure Finding (FF), there are four components found in the seachast component, injector pump, fuel filter, and air. Based on the application of the RCM method used, the recommended maintenance actions for the Finding Failure (FF) category include daily, weekly, and monthly inspection activities. Meanwhile, for the Time Directed (TD) category, maintenance actions involve scheduling component replacements based on predetermined intervals. Keywords: FMEA, LTA, Maintenance, RCM

Abstract

Efficient inventory management is essential for facilitating seamless manufacturing at PT ZYX, especially in managing child part stocks from several vendors. Suboptimal inventory management may result in stock deficits or surpluses, affecting production continuity and operational expenses. This study seeks to evaluate kid part inventory according to its strategic significance and establish safety stock levels for category A goods. The ABC classification approach was utilized to categorize inventory according to significance, and safety stock analysis was performed to determine ideal stock levels for essential items. The findings reveal that among 35 child components, 8 things are classified as category A, 4 items as category B, and 23 items as category C. The maximum safety stock value was identified in child component ID 70025 at 2,891 pieces, whilst the minimum was recorded for ID 70002 at 248 pieces. These findings offer a systematic inventory management strategy that enables the organization to enhance stock control, reduce expenses, and increase operational efficiency. The adoption of ABC categorization and safety stock analysis is anticipated to improve inventory management, facilitating a more efficient supply chain and superior resource allocation.

Abstract

The community of Rangdumulya Village faces challenges in processing agricultural and household waste. Sustainable waste management can overcome these issues using biopore tubes, organic fertilizers, and plastic recycling. The purpose of this community service activity is to achieve zero waste in Rangdumulya Village in the form of a clean, healthy environment and a community that is independent in managing waste. The method used consisted of three stages: preparation, socialization, and training. The biopore tube activity on January 11, 2024, with 46 participants, increased knowledge by 39.13%, and eight out of nine groups successfully created biopores tubes. The activity of making liquid organic fertilizer on January 16, 2024, with 34 participants, increased knowledge by 33.33%, and four out of five groups successfully created liquid organic fertilizer. Plastic recycling activity on January 20, 2024, with 73 participants, increased knowledge by 34.22%, and 16 out of 18 groups successfully processed plastic recycling. This indicates that the people of Rangdumulya Village understood the activities that were taught. The Rangdumulya community has successfully carried out this environmental conservation activity independently through two monitoring sessions over two months post-activity.

Abstract

Background: Peningkatan lesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir pantai di Desa Sungai Buntu dapat dilakukan beriringan dengan program pengelolaan limbah cangkang kerang di sekitar. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, limbah cangkang kerang diolah menjadi produk baru, seperti paving block, dan dijual untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Metode: Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan dengan mitraa Masyarakat nelayan desa Sungai Buntu dengan jumlah 50 orang. Hasil: Berdasarkan nilai pre-test dan post-test diketahui adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap potensi limbah cangkang kerang. Sedangkan keterampilan peserta dalam membuat paving block berbahan cangkang kerang masih kurang, terlihat dari hasil cetakan berongga dan tidak rata. Pendampingan oleh tim dosen terus dilakukan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan program akan memberikan peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat desa Sungai Buntu bahkan setelah kegiatan PKM berakhir. Kesimpulan: Program Pengabdian ini berpotensi membuka peluang usaha baru bagi masyarakat desa Sungai Buntu melalui pengembangan usaha paving block berbahan limbah cangkang kerang.

Abstract

 The need for clean and safe drinking water is increasing, so innovative disinfection methods are needed. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Polysilicone coated with Chitosan-Nanosilver (PCAg) as a disinfectant for drinking water treatment. The synthesis process involves the reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) with sodium citrate, which is then combined with chitosan in an acetic acid solution to produce a stable mixture of nanoparticles. This solution was then impregnated into polysilicone foam to create a functional filter media. The experimental results showed that the PCAg were able to effectively remove bacterial contaminants, including Escherichia coli and Total Coliform, from the distilled drinking water samples from 4 CFU/100mL to 0 CFU/100 mL, as per the quality standard of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia number 2 of 2023. Analysis of the SEM-EDX characterization method showed an evenly distributed Chitosan-Nanosilver coating on the polysilicone surface, evidenced by the detection of 1.31% Nanosilver and an increase in carbon percentage from 40.16% to 44.98%. In addition, analysis of the FTIR characterization method showed the presence of peaks indicating alkane vibrations, aromatic rings, ester groups, and amine groups typical of chitosan. This indicates that chitosan has been coated on polysilicone. This study concludes that the coating process enables optimal interaction between chitosan, silver nanoparticles, and polysilicone, thus enhancing the antibacterial properties of the material. Thus having a significant ability to eliminate bacteria.

Abstract

Human life is inseparable from the use of plastic in everyday life. LDPE plastic significantly impacts the environment as it is difficult to decompose naturally. On the other hand, natural waste such as seashells and coconut fiber are often found without further processing needs to recycle. To overcome this issue, there must be an effort to recycle these wastes. This research aims to determine the substitution effects of recycled products (LDPE plastic, seashells, coconut fiber) in producing paving blocks. The paving block is made with 2 main variations: a mixture of LDPE plastic and seashells (X1 and X2) and a mixture of LDPE plastic and coconut fiber (Y1 and Y2). The results show that paving block X has a higher compressive strength than paving block Y. The best paving block mixture is variation X2, which has a maximum load of 11 kN, a compressive strength of 46.797 kgf/cm2, and a maximum water absorption capacity of 4,8 %. The compressive strength values from the variations of the produced paving blocks are below the quality requirements set by SNI03-060292-1996. However, producing paving blocks with LDPE plastic, seashells, and coconut fiber can positively address waste issues in the Karawang Regency community through recycling practices.

Abstract

Based on historical data on the number of product requests and products produced in the January 2021-December 2022 period, there is a considerable discrepancy. Therefore to be able to predict demand in one or several subsequent periods based on past product demand data, the researcher conducts a forecasting analysis using the double exponential smoothing, moving average, and linear regression methods to find out the most accurate forecasting method to use. Based on the calculation results, it can be concluded that the most appropriate Forecasting method is the linear regression method because it has the lowest MSE value of 1,346,936,387. It is hoped that it will be able to assist PT Seiwa Indonesia in providing future stocks of RBL products in more accurate manner so as to reduce losses due to excessive production.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company operating in the food industry. The company produces various kinds of food, such as biscuits, wafers, vermicelli and noodles. Noodle products are the most popular products, and there are often significant changes in each period. This causes fluctuations and results in uncontrolled inventory. PT XYZ can avoid this problem if it has a way to estimate noodle demand. Forecasting is a planning method for estimating products in the future. The moving average and linear regression methods are the methods used in this research. Based on the results of the calculations carried out, the method chosen is the linear regression method because the smallest Mean Squared Error (MSE) value is 620370900 and the tracking signal results from the linear regression method are close to zero. The results of forecasting the need for noodle products for the next period were 169,524 pcs. It is hoped that the results of this forecasting can help PT XYZ in carrying out production planning.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKrisis pasokan air bersih menjadi permasalahan serius yang berdampak langsung pada kesejahteraan masyarakat. Untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut dilakukan sosialisasi dan pelatihan dalam memperkenalkan teknologi filter air membran keramik sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi masalah pasokan air bersih. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMK Hidayatul Muhibbin yang merupakan sekolah menengah atas di desa Waluya. Dalam tahap sosialisasi dilakukan pembahasan mengenai pentingnya penggunaan air bersih dan manfaat filter keramik. Sementara itu, tahap pelatihan berfokus pada praktik yang dilakukan secara langsung agar siswa dapat memahami megenai cara untuk membuat serta merawat filter air membran keramik. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukan bahwa sebanyak 94,16% siswa memahami pentingnya air bersih dan tata cara pembuatan filter air. Pelatihan pembuatan filter air juga telah berhasil dilakukan dengan tingkat keberhasilan 94%. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat dan mendorong masyarakat untuk mengadopsi teknologi filter air membran keramik sebagai solusi yang efektif dalam memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih. Kata kunci: filter air; membran keramik; air bersih ABSTRACTThe crisis of clean water supply is a serious problem that directly affects people's welfare. To address this issue, an activity was conducted to investigate the important role of outreach and training in introducing ceramic membrane water filter technology as a solution. This activity takes place at SMK Hidayatul Muhibbin, which is a high school in the village of Waluya. During the socialization stage, discussions emphasized the significance of using clean water and the benefits of ceramic filters. Meanwhile, the training stage focused on direct practice to help the students understand how to make and maintain ceramic membrane water filters. The service activity results revealed that 94.16% of the students understood the importance of clean water and the procedures for making water filters. The training program was also successful, with a 94% success rate. This demonstrates the effectiveness of this service activity in increasing public awareness and encouraging people to adopt ceramic membrane water filter technology as an effective solution to meet clean water needs. Keywords: water filter; ceramic membrane; clean water

Abstract

Ketersediaan air bersih menjadi permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat di wilayah pedesaan, salah satunya Desa Anjun, Kabupaten Purwakarta, khususnya para perajin keramik yang menjadi mata pencarian utama dari warga Desa Anjun. Permasalahan tersebut berdampak pada aspek kesehatan masyarakat dan kebutuhan sanitasi desa, maka perlu dilakukan upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Kegiatan ini menawarkan cara untuk menggunakan limbah pertanian sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan karbon aktif dalam pembuatan membran filter air berbasis keramik, serta peningkatan kapasitas perajin melalui pelatihan workshop pemasaran digital. Pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari empat tahapan utama, yaitu persiapan untuk mencari dan mengobservasi kebutuhan dan permasalahan mitra, kemudian sosialisasi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat, pelatihan untuk memberikan keterampilan kepada warga desa, dan yang terakhir yaitu mengadakan workshop guna memperkuat keberlanjutan program inovasi keramik filter air. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat pada kegiatan sosialisasi membran keramik dari 65,55% menjadi 94,56%, serta peningkatan pengetahuan pada workshop pemasaran digital dari 52% menjadi 93%, dan dengan tingkat keberhasilan pelatihan pembuatan membran filter air sebesar 91,6%. Percobaan terhadap prototipe filter keramik yang telah dibuat terbukti efektif menjernihkan air. Sehingga secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat Desa Anjun dalam pemanfaatan limbah pertanian secara berkelanjutan, sekaligus memperkuat potensi pengembangan ekonomi kreatif berbasis keramik lokal.
