Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to increase the knowledge of members of the Branch Leadership (PC) organization of the Rancaekek Islamic Association of Bandung Regency, especially in terms of strengthening communication for the organization. The program implementation method uses a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, involving four stages: To Know, To Understand, To Plan and To Act, with a focus on improving members' skills and communication. The program results showed an increase in participants' knowledge of communication skills in organizations. Before education, their average knowledge score was 55.60 with a total score of 278 points. After education, the average score increased to 78.40 with a total score of 392 points. This increase shows that this program makes a positive contribution in increasing the understanding, skills and commitment of organizational members, as well as creating a more dynamic and productive organizational atmosphere. The evaluation results also become the basis for further program improvements. This article can be a reference for researchers, practitioners and related parties in efforts to empower women in missionary organizations.

Abstract

Introduction: Challenges in education and family dynamisc often hinder optimal learning and development among students. They face difficulties in focusing during lessons and comprehending instructions, resulting in suboptimal academic performance. Objective: The purpose of this service was to enhance student;s cognitive abilities, focus, and emotional well being while also empowering parents to adopt effective communication strategies to foster a supportive learning environment. Method: This public service was conducted by through several stages, including administering the Faxtor Cognitive Ability Test (FCAT) to assess student’s cognitive skills. Workshop for innovative learning and entrepreneurship were organized for student and teacher. For parents, a psychoeducation sessions were conducted to enhance their communication strategies with their children. Result: The activities showed a positive impact, with students demonstrating increased focus and engagement during learning sessions. The workshops provided a platform for students to improve their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills Conclusion: This community service initiative successfully addressed critical issues at SMA Al Hadi by enhancing students’ cognitive and social skills while equipping parents with effective communication tools. These results underscore the potential for replicating similar programs in other schools facing comparable challenges.

Abstract

Backgroun: Doctors, nurses or health care providers are of course closely related to words or language. both simple and complex words sometimes become obstacles in therapeutic communication. Mulyana pointed out how simple words can be interpreted differently, that the meaning of the words conveyed is often ambiguous. Meanings or words are culturally bound. Situational factors, such as the context of place and time and the mood of the communicator, also influence how others interpret the message. Purpose: To explain the communication activities of nurses and patients in drug abuse with outpatient rehabilitation services. Methods: This study uses a constructivist paradigm, data obtained from participant observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. This study uses qualitative research methods, because what will be studied is a central symptom. Furthermore, this study uses the ethnographic method of communication. Data were obtained from participant observation results, in-depth interview results, and literature study. Results: The results of the study show that the communicative situation that occurs between nurses and drug patients at the Antapani Medika Clinic is normal. In an informal setting, crowded at certain hours. Nurses and patients both carry out their roles. The communicative events that occurred between nurses and drug patients at the Antapani Medika Clinic ran smoothly, between nurses and patients being open to each other, honestly interacting with each other and providing responses. Communicative action between nurses and drug patients takes place using verbal and non-verbal communication. Conclusion: The form of verbal communication from nurses is with requests, statements, warnings to open questions before the patient enters the room for examination by the doctor. The language used tends to be a mixture of Indonesian and Sundanese.   Pendahuluan: Dokter, perawat atau penyedia layanan kesehatan tentunya erat kaitan dengan kata-kata atau bahasa. baik kata-kata yang sederhana maupun yang rumit kadang menjadi kendala dalam komunikasi terapeutik. Mulyana mengemukakan betapa kata-kata sederhana bisa diartikan berbeda, bahwa arti kata-kata yang disampaikan, seringkali ambigu. Makna atau kata-kata itu terikat budaya. Factor situasional seperti konteks tempat dan waktu serta suasana hati komunikator, juga memengaruhi cara orang lain menafsirkan pesannya. Tujuan: Untuk menjelaskan aktivitas komunikasi perawat dan pasien dalam penyalahgunaan narkoba dengan layanan rehabilitasi rawat jalan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis, data diperoleh dari hasil observasi partisipan, hasil wawancara  mendalam, dan studi pustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, sebab yang akan dikaji, merupakan gejala sentral. Selanjutnya penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi komunikasi. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi partisipan, hasil wawancara  mendalam, dan studi pustaka. Hasil: Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa situasi komunikatif yang terjadi antara perawat dan pasien napza di Klinik Medika Antapani normal. Dalam suasana informal, ramai di jam-jam tertentu. Perawat dan pasien sama-sama menjalanakan perannya. Peristiwa komunikatif yang terjadi antara perawat dan pasien napza di Klinik Medika Antapani berjalan secara lancar, antara perawat dan pasien saling terbuka, Jujur saling berinterkasi dan memberikan respon. Tindak komunikatif anatar perawat dan pasien napza berlangsung menggunakan komunikasi verbal dan non-verbal. Simpulan: Bentuk komunikasi verbal dari perawat adalah dengan permintaan, pernyataan, peringatan hingga pertanyaan terbuka sebelum pasien memasuki ruangan pemeriksaan oleh dokter.  Bahasa yang digunakan cenderung campuran bahasa Indonesia dengan Sunda.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the public speaking skills of PC Pemudi Persatuan Islam Rancaekek members. The training is designed to build confidence in public speaking, deliver messages clearly, and enhance communication skills within the organization. With strong speaking abilities, members are expected to be more confident in delivering dakwah and actively participating in organizational activities. The program uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, which actively involves participants in the learning process. They are introduced to public speaking techniques, trained in effective speech delivery, and given opportunities to practice their skills in various situations. The training is conducted interactively to ensure participants can develop their abilities directly. The results show an improvement in participants' public speaking skills, both in message delivery and audience interaction. Additionally, the training helps create a more communicative organizational environment. Evaluations are conducted to ensure the program continues to develop and provide lasting benefits for members of women's dakwah organizations.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang serius di Indonesia, terutama di daerah pedesaan. Kondisi ini dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan fisik dan kognitif anak-anak, yang berdampak pada kualitas sumber daya manusia di masa depan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi efektivitas program edukasi pranikah yang diselenggarakan di SMPN 2 Pacet dalam membangun kesadaran dan pengetahuan siswa tentang pentingnya pencegahan stunting. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan participatory rural appraisal (PRA). Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa edukasi pranikah yang diberikan berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai stunting. Penyuluhan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan, tetapi juga mempengaruhi sikap remaja terhadap pernikahan dini. Meskipun seminar penyuluhan ini belum sepenuhnya efektif dalam mengubah perilaku, setidaknya terjadi peningkatan dalam pengetahuan peserta. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peran pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi sejak usia remaja untuk menciptakan generasi bebas stunting di masa depan. Program ini juga direkomendasikan untuk diimplementasikan secara luas di sekolah-sekolah lain sebagai upaya pencegahan dini. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan kerjasama multi sektoral antara pemerintah desa, petugas kesehatan, dan masyarakat dalam mencegah meningkatnya prevalensi stunting.
