Abstract

Adolescence is a period often marked by a crisis of self-identity. During this time, individuals typically find it challenging to discover their identity based on their talents, interests, and skills. Vocational schools are one option for acquiring specific skills after graduation. However, not everything goes as planned. It is evident that many vocational school graduates, after completing their education, either work in a field unrelated to their vocational training or pursue a different major in higher education. This phenomenon is also observed at Pasundan Rancaekek Vocational School. The method employed to achieve the goals of this community service program involves thorough preparation and coordination with partners during implementation, as well as evaluating the success of the program. The objective of this activity is to enhance students' knowledge about their interests and talents, enabling them to make informed decisions about their majors and careers. The target of this activity is for students to be able to identify their talents and interests.

Abstract

The teachers, particularly among volunteer teachers, faces complex challenges amid the dynamic landscape of education. In addition to teaching, they must adapt to constantly changing environments without material compensation or job security. In this context, career adaptability becomes crucial to help volunteer teachers navigate career transitions and challenges. One factor that supports career adaptability is adversity quotient (AQ). This study aims to analyze the influence of AQ on the career adaptability of volunteer teachers in Bandung. The proposed hypothesis is that adversity quotient significantly influences career adaptability. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey design with questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The research subjects were 67 volunteer teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to examine the influence of AQ on career adaptability. The results indicate that adversity quotient has a significant effect on career adaptability (p < 0.05). These findings highlight the importance of developing adversity quotient to enhance career adaptability. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for designing intervention programs, such as resilience training and mentoring, to support the career sustainability of volunteer teachers in Indonesia.

Abstract

Cikawao Village, located in Pacet District, Bandung Regency, is a rural area characterized by strong social cohesion, communal values, and local wisdom. The elderly population constitutes a significant proportion of the community and requires special attention in efforts to promote sustainable community development. This community service program aimed to support the development of an Age-Friendly Village through a psychosocial approach that emphasizes active participation, intergenerational collaboration, and community empowerment. The program was carried out through three main activities: (1) participatory data collection and health screening for older adults, (2) training of age-friendly cadres focusing on empathic communication and the psychology of aging, and (3) the development of the CIKINI (Carita Jeung Aki Nini) module as a community-based tool for psychosocial education and social engagement. The program involved collaboration among lecturers, students, village officials, community organizations, and local leaders. The results demonstrated improved knowledge and skills of participants, increased community awareness regarding the role of older adults, and a collective commitment through the declaration of Cikawao as an Age-Friendly Village. This initiative is expected to serve as a sustainable model for promoting elderly well-being through psychosocial empowerment and community-based participation.
