Abstract

Human rights education is a course that seeks to teach about how ideally every human being treats other humans (Sitou Timou Tumou Tou). This study aims to understand the perspectives of students (especially Orang Asli Papua (OAP) students) towards human rights education lectures. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with informants as many as 30 students. The results showed that OAP students felt that human rights education was not in accordance with what they saw and felt in real life. Violence, injustice that exists in the end makes their interest in participating in learning reduced. However, as responsible educators, we must be creative educators who are able to attract their interest in learning for the development of civilization in the land of Papua.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian yakni untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya partisipasi belajar mahasiswa asli Papua program studi PPKn pada proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif lewat desain deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yakni para mahasiswa asli Papua merasa malu dan takut kepada teman-teman ketika ingin menyampaikan pendapat, serta mereka juga takut dibully teman-teman mereka ketika ikut berpartisipasi pada proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Civics is a subject related to recitations of the 1945 Constitution, Pancasila, and ceremonies. In fact, Civics is an educational program in which the core is political democracy, and the output is a good and intelligent citizen living according to the goals of the state, becoming a citizen who is aware of his rights and obligations, as well as a nationalist citizen or love for the country. The results of the study aim to describe the analysis of the implementation of Civics teacher learning in the formation of the nationalist character of Adventist Abepura Junior High School students. The method in this research is qualitative, combined with a descriptive approach. The data collection process was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the formation of the character of nationalism at Adventist Junior High School Abepura is not simple, especially since the majority of students are native Papuans. Various obstacles, namely a very different history, significantly in relation to the Netherlands compared to other regions in Indonesia. Second, there have been ongoing political tensions since integration into the Republic of Indonesia. Third, there are problems with the implementation of special autonomy policies and the use of special autonomy funds. The approach to conflict must be improved, even if it does not instantly solve the problem. At least, the pattern of violence should be reduced slowly in order to meet the same intersection for an act of peace.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan Universitas Cenderawasih masih menjadi isu krusial yang berdampak langsung terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran di kelas. Tujuan pada penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui serta memahami berbagai permasalahan pembelajaran mahasiswa PPKn UNCEN di kelas. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pendekatan yang digunakan yakni purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian dilakukan melalui wawancara yang kemudian dikelompokkan dalam empat tema utama: kesatu, permasalahan strategi pembelajaran. Kedua, kendala pada akses teknologi. Ketiga, motivasi belajar yang kurang. Keempat, kondisi lingkungan belajar yang tidak kondusif.

Abstract

Teachers' personal-social competence is often undervalued compared to pedagogical and professional skills, yet it critically impacts student engagement and character development. This qualitative study examines how Civic Education (PPKn) teachers' personal-social competence influences nationalist character formation among junior high school students in Papua's multicultural context. Six PPKn teachers from Abepura District participated as key informants through in-depth interviews. Four key findings emerged: teachers face challenges integrating Papuan cultural narratives with national identity; multiple factors influence nationalism development; personal-social competence varies significantly among teachers; and teacher-student relationships are crucial for character building. Results demonstrate that teachers with strong cultural knowledge, engaging pedagogical approaches, positive interpersonal skills, and authentic role modeling significantly enhance students' nationalist character development. This study contributes to understanding how teacher competencies can bridge local cultural identity with national citizenship in diverse educational contexts

Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut mahasiswa untuk memiliki keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan sistem pembelajaran daring guna mendukung efektivitas proses akademik. Namun, masih banyak mahasiswa yang belum familiar dengan penggunaan sistem pembelajaran berbasis digital, terutama Learning Management System (LMS) yang dapat membantu dalam pengelolaan kelas virtual, distribusi materi, serta interaksi akademik secara daring. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Cenderawasih dalam mengoperasikan LMS secara efektif. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 100 mahasiswa yang sebelumnya memiliki tingkat pemahaman yang terbatas dalam penggunaan LMS. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini mencakup pelatihan, tutorial, pendampingan, serta praktik langsung yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu pengenalan LMS, penerapan dalam pembelajaran, dan evaluasi serta refleksi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya signifikan dalam pemahaman mahasiswa, dimana kategori sangat baik meningkat dari 5% menjadi 45% serta lebih dari 90% peserta menyatakan kepuasan terhadap materi dan metode pelatihan. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif dalam mendukung kesiapan mahasiswa menghadapi era digital di dunia pendidikan. Diperlukan pelatihan lanjutan serta penguatan infrastruktur digital guna memastikan keberlanjutan penggunaan LMS Kata kunci: learning management system; pelatihan digital; literasi digital; pembelajaran daring Abstract The development of technology requires students to acquire skills in utilizing online learning system to support the effectiveness of academic processes. However, many students are still unfamiliar with the use of digital learning systems, particularly Learning Management System (LMS), which facilitate virtual classroom management, material distribution, and academic interaction. This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding and skills of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Cenderawasih, in effectively operating LMS. This training program was attended by 100 students who previously had limited knowledge of LMS usage. The methods employed included training, tutorials, mentoring, and hands-on practice, structured into three main stages: LMS introduction, implementation in learning, and evaluation with reflection. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in students understanding, with the excellent category increasing from 5% to 45% and more than 90% of participants expressing satisfaction with the training content and delivery. This program has had a positive impact on preparing students for the digital era in education. Further training and the strengthening of digital infrastructure are necessary to ensure the sustainability of LMS as an integral part of modern teaching strategies. Keywords: learning management system; digital training; digital literacy; online learning
