Abstract

This study examines the integration of Johann Friedrich Herbart's educational methods with Islamic values at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, a prominent Islamic boarding school in Indonesia. Herbart's pedagogical framework, emphasizing structured teaching through five stages. preparation, presentation, association, generalization, and application. aligns with Islamic educational principles that focus on character development and comprehensive personal growth. Research Methods: The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing literature review and case study methods. Data were collected through document analysis of Gontor's educational materials, observations of teaching practices, and interviews with educators and students to understand the implementation of Herbartian methods within an Islamic educational context. Findings: 1) Integration of Teaching Methods. 2) Balanced Curriculum. 3) Foreign Language Proficiency. 4) Comprehensive Evaluation. 5) Holistic Approach. This study highlights the successful integration of Western educational methods with Islamic values, offering a model for other educational institutions aiming to develop holistic and integrative learning systems. However, the research is limited to a single case study at Gontor; further studies could explore similar integrations in different educational settings to validate and expand upon these findings. The research provides a novel insight into how Herbart's educational concepts can be harmonized with Islamic principles, resulting in a comprehensive and effective educational system. This integration equips students with knowledge, skills, and character aligned with religious guidance and the demands of modern society.

Abstract

Micro, small and medium businesses (UMKM) have an important role in the local economy, but often face challenges in marketing aspects, including packaging label design and information. This research aims to optimise packaging labels through a mentoring programme for the Ozen Banana Chips business in Karangnongko Barat Village. The approach used includes needs an analysis, redesign of packaging labels, and evaluation of their effectiveness on consumer appeal. The results of the mentoring programme showed that a more informative, attractive label design that complies with regulatory standards increases buyer interest and strengthens product identity in the market. In addition, packaging label optimisation also contributes to improving business competitiveness and opening wider marketing opportunities. With this assistance, it is hoped that the UMKM can further develop and compete more professionally in the snack food industry.

Abstract

Dalam era digital yang berkembang pesat, tantangan dan peluang baru muncul bagi Muslimah dalam membangun kepribadiannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana iman, islam dan ihsan dapat berperan dalam membentuk kepribadian Muslimah yang kuat dan berkualitas di era digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat diutarakan Pertama, Tekanan sosial dan standar kecantikan yang tidak realistis, dengan demikian tidak sedikit kaum Muslimah yang terpapar pada standar kecantikan dan gaya hidup yang sering kali tidak realistis dan bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai islam. seperti contoh menggunakan hijab tetapi tidak menutup aurat, menggunakan pakaian tertutup tetapi membentuk lekukan tubuh, foto dengan gaya yang berlebihan/tidak sesuai syariat islam dan lain sebagainya. Kedua, Penyebaran konten negative, yang tidak sesuai dengan nilai-nilai islam, seperti konten pornografi, kekerasan, ujaran kebencian dan informasi yang menyesatkan. Ketiga, Kecanduan teknologi dan Media sosial, Dampak dari kecanduan teknologi yakni dapat mempengaruhi Kesehatan mental dan fisik, serta mengganggu kualitas interaksi nyata sehingga membuat Muslimah lebih sulit fokus pada tujuan hidup yang lebih besar.

Abstract

Montessori based learning strategies play a crucial role in fostering independence, creativity, and holistic development in early childhood education. The Montessori approach, introduced by Maria Montessori, emphasizes a specially designed learning environment to support children’s natural abilities and developmental stages. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Montessori-based learning strategies in early childhood education in Indonesia, focusing on practical and theoretical aspects. This qualitative research employed a field research approach conducted at Alfath Daycare, an Islamic childcare center. Data collection techniques included direct observation, in-depth interviews with educators and administrators, and documentation analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the Montessori strategy significantly contributes to the holistic development of children, particularly in aspects of independence, social skills, and cognitive abilities. Each child’s unique developmental pace is accommodated within this method, which prioritizes tailored learning experiences over standardized approaches. The study highlights the importance of the educator’s role and the learning environment in implementing Montessori principles effectively, alongside identifying challenges such as maintaining consistency in method application and addressing individual needs.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the education sector is currently an urgent matter, especially after the changes in learning patterns following the pandemic, which require educational institutions to be more adaptive and responsive to technological developments. The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, through various educational policies, has promoted the implementation of the Digital Madrasah Programme as a strategic innovation to create modern, adaptive madrasahs that are relevant to the needs of the times. MAN 3 Ngawi is one of the schools in Ngawi that has implemented the digital madrasah programme. This study aims to explore the implementation of the Digital Madrasah Programme in supporting digital transformation at MAN 3 Ngawi, as well as to analyse the supporting and inhibiting factors. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach, involving interviews, observations, and documentation as data sources. The results show that the digital madrasah programme increases the effectiveness of learning, facilitates access to materials, and supports digital-based administrative management. The success of the implementation is influenced by the commitment of madrasah leaders, the availability of digital facilities and infrastructure, teacher training, and positive responses from students, despite technical obstacles such as network stability and variations in teacher abilities. [Transformasi digital di sektor pendidikan saat ini merupakan hal yang mendesak, terutama setelah perubahan pola pembelajaran pascapandemi yang menuntut lembaga pendidikan untuk menjadi lebih adaptif dan responsif terhadap perkembangan teknologi. Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia, melalui berbagai kebijakan pendidikan, telah mempromosikan implementasi Program Madrasah Digital sebagai inovasi strategis untuk menciptakan madrasah yang modern, adaptif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman. MAN 3 Ngawi adalah salah satu sekolah di Ngawi yang telah menerapkan program madrasah digital tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi implementasi Program Madrasah Digital dalam mendukung transformasi digital di MAN 3 Ngawi, serta menganalisis faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, yang melibatkan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi sebagai sumber data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program madrasah digital meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran, mempermudah akses ke materi, dan mendukung pengelolaan administrasi berbasis digital. Keberhasilan implementasi dipengaruhi oleh komitmen pimpinan madrasah, ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana digital, pelatihan guru, serta respon positif dari siswa, terlepas dari adanya kendala teknis seperti stabilitas jaringan dan variasi kemampuan guru.]

Abstract

Classical Islamic legal sources — the Qur'an, Hadith, ijma', and qiyas — were codified in historical contexts vastly different from the realities confronting contemporary Muslim societies navigating technological disruption, globalization, and rapid social transformation. While these sources retain their foundational normative authority, their direct application to unprecedented modern challenges remains methodologically constrained, generating a persistent gap between classical legal tradition and contemporary Muslim life. This study aims to analyze the relevance of classical Islamic legal sources in modern Muslim societies and to construct an integrated framework positioning ijtihad and fatwa as complementary adaptive instruments for bridging this gap. Employing systematic library research, data were collected from classical jurisprudential texts and peer-reviewed contemporary scholarship, and analyzed through content analysis, thematic synthesis, and critical interpretation. The findings reveal that Islamic law's adaptive capacity is intrinsic to the tradition itself, and that ijtihad and fatwa function most effectively not as independent mechanisms but as sequential and mutually dependent stages within a coherent process of legal adaptation. The study concludes that strengthening collective ijtihad, enhancing inter-institutional fatwa coordination, and reconceiving Islamic legal education are essential prerequisites for ensuring Islamic law's continued relevance in an increasingly complex contemporary world.

Abstract

Religious traditions in Java are wrapped with interesting Javanese culture without losing the Islamic values, such as Megengan tradition which is carried out at the end of the month of Sya'ban (Ruwah) before the arrival of the month of Ramadhan. This tradition is also carried out by the community of Rt 01 Rw 03 Sendang Village, Donorojo, Pacitan, East Java. Megengan tradition is interesting to study, because in today's modern era when changes and developments in science are increasingly advanced, the Megengan tradition is still firmly held and still on going. The type of research used is a qualitative research approach, the primary data sources used are observations, interviews with religious figures, village heads and local communities. Some documentation in the form of photos as secondary data sources were also obtained to strengthen the research. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation, and documentation. While analyzed by means of Data Reduction, Data Presentation and Drawing Conclusions. The values of Islamic education contained in the Megengan tradition carried out by the people of Rt 01 Rw 03 Sendang as a form of gratitude to Allah Swt for all the blessings that have been given, pray together for the family who has died, and establish ukhuwah Islamiyah between communities. This is done with the foundation of togetherness in social life to strengthen friendship. The Megengan tradition explains how religious traditions are wrapped in traditional Javanese cultural patterns, and do not come out of Islamic law with the Qur'an and Hadith as the foundation.

Abstract

The formation of moral character is a fundamental aspect of Islamic education, which emphasizes the balance between intellectual development and moral development. This research focuses on sustainable and innovative efforts implemented in the Islamic education system at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 2 to form the moral character of prospective students for the 2025–2026 academic year. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field study design. Participants include prospective students, teachers, and staf. Data is collected by observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of the study show that continuous innovation in Islamic education at Gontor Putri Campus 2 is reflected in the integration of intramural, extracurricular, and daily habituation activities rooted in the local wisdom of Islamic boarding schools. Discipline, internalization of values, and exemplary behavior shown by Senior Teachers, Ustadzah and Mudabbirah are key factors in shaping the morals of karimah among prospective students. The study highlights that sustainable, locally-based innovation in Islamic education plays an important role in preparing the youngest generation who are moral, adaptive, and competitive to face the challenges of the times.
