Abstract

Thinking skills are very important in learning mathematics because, with the help of mathematical reasoning, students can develop their thinking skills in mathematics. This research aims to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities by using a project-based learning model (PjBL). This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, designed in a one-group pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were all students of SMP AW 8 (UNIVA) Medan which consisted of five classes. The research sample consisted of one class, namely class fourth with a total of 12 students selected by simple random sampling. Data collection techniques use students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the form of descriptive questions. The instrument used is a mathematical reasoning test consisting of pretest and posttest questions which will be used after testing the validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discriminating power. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is a paired sample t-test to find differences in students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the research class and get points to determine the increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The results of the analysis using the sample t-test were obtained with a value of t_count = -27.735 <t_table = -2.20 indicating that students' mathematical reasoning abilities increased by using the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model. Students' mathematical reasoning ability increased in high class with an average score of 0.71

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital dan kreativitas siswa sekolah dasar melalui pelatihan pembuatan animasi pembelajaran dengan Microsoft PowerPoint. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama dua hari di SDIT AL-Habib dengan melibatkan 20 siswa kelas 5B. Metode yang digunakan adalah edukatif-partisipatif dengan pendekatan project-based learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan teknis siswa menggunakan fitur PowerPoint, peningkatan kreativitas dalam menyusun media pembelajaran, serta peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam mempresentasikan karya. Sebanyak 80% siswa berhasil menguasai materi dengan baik, sementara 20% memerlukan pendampingan intensif. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi partisipasi, penilaian karya, dan presentasi hasil. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis multimedia dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dan mendukung pengembangan keterampilan abad 21. Disarankan untuk mengadakan pelatihan serupa secara berkelanjutan dengan dukungan fasilitas yang memadai.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a valid, practical, and effective Minangkabau local culture-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) to improve students' mathematical communication skills at SMA Negeri 3 Padang. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this study were 32 grade X students of SMA Negeri 3 Padang. Observation sheets, practicality questionnaires, mathematical communication ability tests, and validation sheets were the research instruments. The results showed that the developed LKPD met the valid criteria with an average validation score of 3.65 which is a very valid category, practical with an average practicality score of 3.72 which is a very practical category, and effective with an average N-gain score of 0.74 which is a high category. This LKPD integrates the context of Minangkabau local culture such as the traditional house, songket weaving, and rendang in mathematical materials, especially geometry and linear equation systems. This study concludes that local culture-based LKPD can be an effective alternative teaching material to improve students' mathematical communication skills.
