Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the characteristics and motivations of foreign tourists with their decisions in choosing a hotel as a place to stay. The characteristics analyzed include age, gender, income, and cultural origin, while tourist motivations include recreational, business, health, and cultural purposes. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data is collected from a number of foreign tourists who stay in various types of hotels. The interaction between tourist characteristics and motivations reveals that these factors do not work separately, but influence each other in the decision-making process. Hotels with relevant facilities and good reputations are more likely to be chosen by foreign tourists, especially if they have positive experiences or receive recommendations from third parties. This study concludes that a deep understanding of tourist characteristics and motivations is key for hotels to develop effective marketing strategies and more personalized services.

Abstract

Through social media, sponsored advertising, graphic content, and search engine optimization (SEO), tourist destinations are able to reach a wider and more targeted audience. In addition, digital marketing has also been proven to be able to improve the positive image of destinations through user reviews, influencer involvement, and interesting content. The application of technological tools like augmented reality and virtual tours provides a more interactive experience for potential tourists, thereby increasing the attractiveness of the destination. This study's conclusion is that digital marketing is a very effective tool in promoting tourist destinations, both in terms of costs and results obtained. The implementation of the right digital marketing strategy can help tourist destinations increase the number of visits, strengthen their image, and maintain competitiveness in the global tourism market.

Abstract

The phenomenon of panic buying has become a global concern with the increasing frequency of crises, ranging from pandemics and geopolitical instability to natural disasters. This study aims to analyze panic buying behavior in an era of uncertainty by focusing on the role of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and social influence as mediating variables. Using a quantitative approach with a survey of consumers who have made emergency purchases, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that the perception of uncertainty significantly triggers psychological anxiety, which then manifests in the form of FOMO and susceptibility to social pressure. Both variables are proven to mediate the relationship between environmental uncertainty and consumers' decisions to hoard goods. These findings confirm that panic buying is not simply a logistical response to scarcity, but rather a manifestation of emotional contagion and maladaptive coping strategies. The practical implications of this study urge governments and retailers to manage information narratives to minimize the effects of FOMO during periods of crisis.
