Abstract

The Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model is applied in Indonesian language learning to improve the news text writing skills of grade XI students at MASTAHFIZIL QUR’AN. The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the effectiveness of the TGT model application in improving news text writing skills. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and written tests which were then analyzed descriptively. Based on the research conducted, it was found that the TGT application was able to improve students’ abilities in understanding the structure of news texts, and organizing information systematically. This model also creates an interactive learning atmosphere through competition and group cooperation. In addition, TGT has a positive impact on students’ critical thinking skills, collaboration, communication, and creativity. Researchers also found several obstacles, such as the difficulty of students adapting to the group-based learning system. These obstacles can be overcome through intensive guidance from teachers. Researchers concluded that the TGT model not only improves students’ writing skills, but also strengthens social interaction and a sense of responsibility in group-based learning

Abstract

Pembelajaran membaca di SD terdiri dari dua bagian yaitu membaca permulaan dan membaca lanjutan. Membaca permulaan ini berada dikelas I dan II, untuk itu agar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa digunakannya metode fonik dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat ada tidaknya peningkatan kemampuan membaca anak usia dini melalui metode fonik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Setia Nurul Azmi Kabupaten Kota Medan. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2023 sampai pada bulan November. Adapun objek yang akan menjadi populasi adalah seluruh siswa di tingkat dasar Setia Nurul Azmi Kabupaten Kota yang terdiri dari dua kelas dengan jumlah siswa keseluruhan adalah 24 orang. Untuk itu kelompok yang akan di ambil dalam penelitian ini adalah kelompok B2. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen, Adapun jenis penelitian eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Pre Experimental Design dengan tipe one group pretest-posttest design. Berdasarkan temuan dari hasil penelitian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa metode Fonik memberi pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap kemampuan membaca. Pelaksanaan metode fonik di TK Aisyiyah Tanjung Barulak telah mencapai tujuan dalam hal kemampuan membaca. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari perhitungan yang telah dipaparkan terbukti bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel.
