Abstract

The Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model is applied in Indonesian language learning to improve the news text writing skills of grade XI students at MASTAHFIZIL QUR’AN. The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the effectiveness of the TGT model application in improving news text writing skills. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and written tests which were then analyzed descriptively. Based on the research conducted, it was found that the TGT application was able to improve students’ abilities in understanding the structure of news texts, and organizing information systematically. This model also creates an interactive learning atmosphere through competition and group cooperation. In addition, TGT has a positive impact on students’ critical thinking skills, collaboration, communication, and creativity. Researchers also found several obstacles, such as the difficulty of students adapting to the group-based learning system. These obstacles can be overcome through intensive guidance from teachers. Researchers concluded that the TGT model not only improves students’ writing skills, but also strengthens social interaction and a sense of responsibility in group-based learning

Abstract

This research aims to identify students' learning difficulties in learning Indonesian in class XI MAS Al Jam'iyatul Wasliyah 22 Tembung. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects were class XI students, selected purposively. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The research results show that the learning difficulties experienced by students include four main aspects: (1) listening difficulties (2) speaking difficulties (3) reading difficulties (4) writing difficulties. Factors causing learning difficulties include lack of motivation to learn, minimal mastery of vocabulary, and less varied learning methods. This research recommends using more interactive and contextual learning methods to improve students' understanding of Indonesian language material. In addition, teachers are expected to be able to provide more intensive guidance to overcome students' learning obstacles, so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini diselenggarakan dengan tujuan mengembangkan keterampilan membaca siswa sekolah dasar melalui implementasi program GERBANING (Gerakan Membaca Hening) yang mengadopsi pendekatan saintifik. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Minggu, 6 Juli 2025, bertempat di TK SD Satu Atap, Kelurahan Tanah Seribu, Kecamatan Binjai Selatan, Sumatera Utara. Fokus utama program adalah membentuk kebiasaan membaca sejak dini dan melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis serta pemahaman bacaan secara mendalam. Tahapan pelaksanaan meliputi fase persiapan (melibatkan koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah dan pemilihan materi bacaan), pelaksanaan inti (membaca dalam suasana tenang, menyampaikan kembali isi bacaan secara lisan, dan diskusi kelompok), serta evaluasi. Keberhasilan program dievaluasi melalui keterlibatan aktif siswa, kemampuan menyampaikan kembali isi cerita, serta peningkatan pemahaman yang teridentifikasi selama proses diskusi dan tanya jawab. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan, siswa menunjukkan perubahan positif berupa peningkatan minat baca, keterampilan merangkum isi bacaan, serta mulai terbiasa membaca secara mandiri. Dengan demikian, GERBANING terbukti menjadi strategi literasi yang efektif dan berpotensi untuk diterapkan di berbagai satuan pendidikan dasar lainnya.

Abstract

Reading and writing skills for a teacher are very important skills to be mastered by every student. So that this is used as a background by the teacher in carrying out classroom actions. In addition, low student learning outcomes in Indonesian subjects make it a reference for teachers to conduct research in order to improve student learning outcomes in class VIII in Indonesian subjects. The purpose of this classroom action research is to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students in Indonesian subjects at MTs Sabilunnajah Patumbak Deli Serdang by using the Direct Learning learning model. This research process goes through stages that begin with the pre-cycle, Cycle I and Cycle II. The results of the research carried out in class VIII of MTs Sabilunnajah Patumbak Deli Serdang experienced changes in increasing student achievement. The increase itself can be seen from the level of complete learning of students who reach the KKM. This can be seen in the pre-cycle stage, the level of completeness only reached 47% or only 9 students completed, and experienced an increase in learning mastery in the first cycle to 63% or only 12 students completed, and again experienced an increase in mastery in the second cycle which reached 89%. or 17 students who completed. The data from this research shows that classroom action research using the Direct Learning learning model is able to improve student achievement in Indonesian lessons.

Abstract

This research is entitled strategies for increasing digital reading houses. The aim of this research is to look for various strategies that can be used to improve digital reading houses that can be used for the general public and especially for students as an effort to increase student reading literacy. Reading houses will be an alternative for reading digitally. This research uses a qualitative phenomenological method. The phenomena discussed in this research are the obstacles and challenges in improving digital reading houses and effective strategies used to improve digital reading house strategies. The results of this research state that there are six functions that must be carried out simultaneously to improve the digital reading house. The results of this research can then be analyzed to answer research questions, namely the challenges of digital reading houses, how to increase reading interest with digital reading houses, and strategies for improving digital reading houses. The conclusion of this research is that there are various challenges faced in improving digital reading houses. This challenge can be faced with various strategies, namely by offering free access to various types of reading materials that have been adapted to age and interests, activating reading communities, providing rating and review pages.
