Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of comparative adjectives in English by students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UIN SU). Mastery of adjective comparison is important to improve English skills, both oral and written. The research uses a qualitative approach with an interview method to 20 students from various study programs. Interview questions include the use of adjectives in positive, comparative, superlative, as well as irregular adjectives and their exceptions. The results of the study revealed that students experienced difficulties related to the use of irregular adjectives, exceptions in the formation of comparisons, long adjectives, lack of practice and practice, and the influence of the mother tongue. These findings provide valuable information for the development of more effective teaching methods in the topic of adjective comparison in UIN SU. In addition, this research contributes to enriching English learning literature, especially in the context of Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

The competence of educators is one of the major factors in determining the quality of education in an institution. Quality educator personnel not only master the subject matter but also possess pedagogical competencies that can support the learning process. This is listed in Law no. 14 Year 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers that teachers are professional educators who have the primary task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and evaluating learners. The study aimed to analyze the pedagogical competencies of an educator in carrying out his/her duties and responsibilities in schools. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews with a teacher. The results of the study show that the diverse characteristics of students demand teachers to be able to understand them where it is necessary in designing suitable lesson strategies. Teachers adapt methods, media, and forms of assessment to suit students diverse learning styles. Challenges faced by teachers in the learning process such as character differences, social media, and time constraints can be overcome with a professional approach. Within the learning process lie strategies that are not only in delivering the material, but also in shaping students character and social skills.

Abstract

Effective communication is a crucial element in the success of school clerical management. This study aims to analyze the role of effective communication in enhancing productivity and collaboration in the office environment of SDS ISLAM SALSABILA Medan. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results of the study showed that open, structured, and participatory communication contributed significantly to increased staff work productivity as well as collaboration across departments in the school office. The article concludes that effective communication is a key foundation in building quality school administrative governance.
