Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine multidisciplinary scientific learning at Khadijah Middle School in Surabaya as an alternative to the national exam which has been abolished. This research uses field research, in the form of phenomenology. The data sources obtained came from interviews, observation and documentation. So the conclusion of this research is that multidisciplinary learning projects from the 7 (seven) selected subjects can provide their own color to the students' perspective, so that they are able to provide a cooperative, respectful, responsible character and produce quality decisions.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of the application of the expository method in tarbawi tafsir lectures on improving the thinking skills of students of the Islamic Education Study Program (PAI) at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The expository method is implemented as a learning approach that focuses on delivering information in a systematic and structured manner, with the hope of strengthening students' understanding and skills in interpreting tarbawi tafsir texts. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a control group and an experimental group. The research participants were 3rd-semester students who were taking the tarbawi tafsir course. The research instruments involved a proficiency test before and after the application of the expository method, as well as a questionnaire to collect data on students' perceptions of the learning method. The results of data analysis showed a significant improvement in the proficiency of students who attended the tarbawi tafsir lecture using the expository method compared to the control group. In addition, students' positive responses to the use of the expository method indicate that this approach contributes positively to students' understanding and skills in interpreting tafsir tarbawi texts. This research makes an important contribution to the development of learning methods at the university level, especially in the context of Islamic religious education. Implications.

Abstract

The ability to clearly articulate ideas and engage an audience is not only essential for academic success, but also for future professional endeavors. Therefore, the development of public speaking skills is an integral part of the educational landscape. This study aims to evaluate the importance of public speaking skills in the context of 21st century education by conducting a systematic review of relevant literature. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research analyzes various studies that address public speaking from the perspective of educators and learners. The database used for this review was Google Scholar, which provides access to a wide range of scholarly articles. A total of 9 articles published between 2020 and 2024 were included in this analysis, based on specific inclusion criteria. The search strategy used keywords such as “educators‘ public speaking skills” and “learners’ public speaking skills.” Thematic data analysis techniques were used to identify key themes in the selected literature. The results showed that public speaking skills play an important role in improving the quality of learning. Educators with strong public speaking skills can foster a more interactive learning environment, motivate students and deliver materials effectively. For learners, public speaking contributes to the development of self-confidence, critical thinking and communication skills. However, there is a noticeable gap in research regarding the development of public speaking skills among educators. This research underscores the need for sustainable and integrated training programs to meet the needs of educators in improving their communication competencies. The new findings in this study resulted in 3 important points, namely the need to be an important point in public speaking for educators, namely as a Motivator, Catalyst, Facilitator.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze in more depth how tahfidz is taught in class with the flipped classroom method. This study uses a case study method, with observation and interview data collection techniques. The results of this study, the tahfidz program at SMP Khadijah has not been implemented perfectly using the flipped classroom method. With notes, reactivating the tahfidz guidebook as educational communication to parents and guardians of students; implementing collaborative mentoring in muroja'ah both at home and in class; There needs to be concern from parents and guardians of students to control the development of students' memorization of the Al-Qur'an. So there needs to be a flipped classroom method with parents as one of the means of successful tahfidz learning. Learning to memorize the Qur'an in schools as an actualization of formal education, as well as family education can function as informal education, in addition the connecting media is the student's tahfidz guidebook which is shown to teachers and parents of students.

Abstract

slamic Religious Education learning is still often teacher-centered, limiting students’ active participation and the development of 21st-century skills. This study aims to analyze how the Marketplace Activity (MPA) model and variations in grouping strategies foster the four Cs (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity) in Islamic Religious Education classrooms. Using a qualitative case study design at a public senior high school in Sidoarjo, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings show that MPA promotes dynamic and meaningful learning interactions. Heterogeneous groups encourage diverse ideas, dialogic exchange, and critical reflection, while homogeneous groups support task efficiency and clarity of roles. The four Cs emerged as Islamic value-based learning outcomes: value-driven collaborative communication, spiritual-intellectual collaboration, reflective faith-based reasoning, and integrative Islamic creativity. This study concludes that MPA has strong potential as an integrative learning model that connects cognitive skill development with spiritual character formation, making Islamic Religious Education more relevant to the competence and morality demands of the 21st century. Practically, teachers are encouraged to design student-centered activities, apply flexible grouping structures aligned with learning objectives, and integrate faith-based values with higher-order thinking to strengthen both academic and spiritual outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Aqidah learning in higher education plays a vital role in shaping students' faith. However, many students still struggle to apply the aqidah theory to their daily lives. Therefore, the application of scientific methods in aqidah learning is urgently needed to enhance students' understanding and deepen their faith. Objective: This study aims to elucidate the importance of scientific methods in aqidah learning from the perspective of Imam Al-Ghazali. Method: This study employs a literature review, analyzing the works of Imam Al-Ghazali and related literature. Result: The scientific method, which involves a rational and critical approach, enables students to understand faith more deeply and practically. Imam Al-Ghazali emphasizes the importance of integrating faith and morals, which can be strengthened through a scientific approach. Conclusion: The application of scientific methods in the study of aqidah significantly contributes to strengthening students' faith, enhancing the quality of teaching, and fostering a more rational and systematic understanding of religious teachings. Contribution: This study aims to introduce the application of scientific methods in aqidah education, which can serve as a reference for the development of religious curricula and teaching in higher education.
