Abstract

In today's Christian life, there are many people who claim to believe and have faith but in their daily lives do not show the character and way of life of a believer. The reason for this is that there are still many Christians who do not understand the act of faith, so when facing the difficulties of life, they do not show the attitude and actions of a person of faith. Instead what is shown is worry or extreme actions that are misunderstood as acts of faith. The purpose of this article is to discover the acts of faith in the midst of adversity according to Genesis 22:1-19. Acts of faith are needed to overcome problems. The method used in this study is thematic analysis to present the facts of truth contained in Genesis 22:1-19. This article provides a description of the thematic background of the book as well as the application of Abraham's act of faith in the midst of adversity. The result found that Abraham's act of faith in the midst of hardship included: First, responding quickly to God's word. Second, believing even though he did not see. Third, not doubting God.Dalam kehidupan Kristen pada masa kini, banyak orang yang mengaku percaya dan beriman tetapi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari tidak menunjukkan karakter dan cara hidup sebagai orang yang beriman. Penyebabnya karena masih banyak orang Kristen yang belum mengerti tentang tindakan iman, sehingga ketika menghadapi kesukaran hidup, mereka tidak menunjukkan sikap dan tindakan sebagai orang beriman. Sebaliknya yang ditunjukkan adalah kekuatiran atau tindakan-tindakan ekstrim yang di salah pahami sebagai tindakan iman. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk menemukan tindakan iman di tengah kesukaran menurut Kejadian 22:1-19. Tindakan iman diperlukan untuk mengatasi masalah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis tematik untuk menyajikan fakta-fakta kebenaran yang terdapat dalam Kejadian 22:1-19. Artikel ini memberikan uraian tentang latar belakang kitab secara tematik serta penerapan tindakan iman Abraham di tengah kesukaran. Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa tindakan iman Abraham di tengah kesukaran meliputi: Pertama, merespon firman Tuhan dengan cepat. Kedua, tetap percaya walaupun tidak melihat. Ketiga, tidak meragukan Tuhan.

Abstract

Tema eskatologi adalah salah satu tema yang sangat menarik dan terus dibahas sampai hari ini. Berbagai interpretasi dan perspektif dalam memahami tema ini sehingga menjadi suatu kajian menarik. Tetapi realita yang terjadi adalah, bagi anak muda tema ini menjadi tema yang kurang diminati karena berisi hal-hal yang sulit dipahami dan abstrak dalam perspektifnya. Akhirnya ada banyak anak muda yang kehilangan kesempatan mempelajari tema ini secara komprehensif, sehingga tidak mempersiapkan diri dengan baik untuk menjaga hidup di akhir zaman ini. Mengapa harus anak muda? Karena Indonesia akan memasuki bonus demografi, di mana usia potensial dan produktif adalah anak-anak muda. Menjawab realita yang ada, maka artikel ini ditulis untuk mengkorelasikan tema-tema penting dalam Wahyu dengan implikasinya bagi anak muda. Berdasarkan metode kualitatif dalam analisa tematik dan studi literatur, artikel ini menemukan bahwa: pertama, tema surga, neraka dan tribulasi adalah tema yang dapat menarik perhatian anak muda; kedua, tema-tema eskatologi menguatkan anak muda untuk berdiri di atas dasar yang tepat; dan ketiga, tema-tema eskatologi ini, merupakan tema utama yang harus disadari dan diakui kebenarannya oleh anak muda untuk dapat mempersiapkan diri dengan baik. Ini merupakan jawaban bagi para pemimpin rohani dalam mempersiapkan pengajaran tentang tema eskatologi kepada setiap anak muda.

Abstract

The debate between cessationism and continuanism regarding the translation of the phrase τὸ τέλειον (to teleion) continues to this day, through various arguments and interpretations. For this reason, this study aims to analyze the true meaning of the phrase τὸ τέλειον (to teleion) in 1 Corinthians 13:10, which is the basis of the debate between the two groups. Studies that support continuanism have so far interpreted the phrase τὸ τέλειον (to teleion) as a reference to the personality of Jesus, thus making the researcher consider it necessary to comprehensively study to find the true meaning of the phrase τὸ τέλειον (to teleion), using interpretative qualitative methods through the process of exegesis to understand the text in question. This article finds the meaning of the phrase τὸ τέλειον (to teleion) in 1 Corinthians 13:10 does not refer to the personality of Jesus but to the Bible as the Word/Word of God which functions as a medium in shaping spiritual maturity. Thus, the study of the phrase τὸ τέλειον (to teleion) has proven an antithetical interpretation of Jesus' personality according to the view of continuanism.

Abstract

Abstract: The Holy Spirit is a gift and serves as a helper for every believer. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit emerges as a manifestation of God's character in the life of the believer. In many literature studies, research on the Holy Spirit (pneuma) often only focuses on practical contexts, but research on the impact of the Holy Spirit (pneuma) on believers often does not get enough attention. This research uses thematic analysis and literature study as an effort to find a better understanding of how the Holy Spirit works in the life of believers and how it affects the expression of God's character in them. The results of this study show that the acceptance of the Holy Spirit has implications, namely: first, it is a sign or proof of faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is seen as a gift from God for those who believe. The consequence of acceptance of the Holy Spirit is that believers will always be led by the Holy Spirit. Second, acceptance of the Holy Spirit will bring about changes (transformation) in line with God’s will, meaning God’s character will be reproduced in the life of the believer. Third, the fruit of the Spirit is God’s character reproduced in the life of believers by Jesus Christ or through the work of the Holy Spirit. These findings are expected to be a reference for scholars and servants of God in learning about the Holy Spirit and also to prepare teaching materials for the congregation. Abstrak: Roh Kudus merupakan anugerah dan berperan sebagai penolong bagi setiap orang percaya. Melalui karya Roh Kudus, buah Roh muncul sebagai manifestasi karakter Allah dalam diri orang percaya. Dalam banyak penelitian literatur, penelitian mengenai Roh Kudus (pneuma) sering kali hanya terfokus pada konteks praktika, namun penelitian terhadap dampak Roh Kudus (pneuma) bagi orang percaya seringkali tidak mendapatkan perhatian yang cukup. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis tematik dan studi literatur sebagai upaya untuk menemukan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana cara Roh Kudus bekerja dalam kehidupan orang percaya dan bagaimana hal itu mempengaruhi ekspresi karakter Allah dalam diri mereka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerimaan Roh Kudus memiliki implikasi, yaitu: pertama, merupakan tanda atau bukti dari iman kepada Yesus Kristus. Roh Kudus dipandang sebagai hadiah dari Allah bagi mereka yang percaya. Penerimaan Roh Kudus akan menimbulkan konsekuensi bahwa orang beriman akan selalu dipimpin oleh Roh Kudus. Kedua, penerimaan Roh Kudus akan membuat perubahan (transformasi) yang sejalan dengan kehendak Allah, artinya karakter Allah akan direproduksi dalam kehidupan orang percaya. Ketiga, buah Roh merupakan karakter Allah yang direproduksi dalam kehidupan orang percaya oleh Yesus Kristus maupun melalui pekerjaan Roh Kudus. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi para sarjana dan pelayan Tuhan dalam pembelajaran mengenai Roh Kudus (pneuma) dan juga untuk mempersiapkan materi pengajaran bagi jemaat.

Abstract

This research article aims to reinterpret the true meaning of the phrase πᾶσα οἰκοδομὴ (Pasa Oikodomi) in Ephesians 2:21. There are two interpretations in translating the phrase, namely in the literal sense as the temple and in the metaphorical sense as a symbolization of the church as the Body of Christ. If so, what is the true meaning of the phrase πᾶσα οἰκοδομὴ (Pasa Oikodomi)? To answer this question, this research is conducted through a specific and comprehensive study of the reinterpretation of the phrase πᾶσα οἰκοδομὴ (pasa oikodomi). Based on the use of interpretative qualitative method through hermeneutic process, this article finds that the reinterpretation of the phrase πᾶσα οἰκοδομὴ (Pasa Oikodomi) refers to the whole body, and or the whole congregation in the unity of the church. The basic argument of the reinterpretation is that, in the context of the letter to the Ephesians, Paul is talking about unity in the body of Christ, namely the church. Therefore, the novelty of this research lies in its comprehensive hermeneutical approach, which affirms the phrase πᾶσα οἰκοδομὴ (Pasa Oikodomi) as an affirmation of the unified structure of the church as the body of Christ, rather than merely a symbol of a physical building.
