In relating with other people, the cooperative principle may be done to make a dialogue run well and efficiently. However, there are chances when speakers have to violate a maxim because of some reason. Maxim of quality talks about; first, the participants in conversation. Second, they should not say something without adequate evidence. Maxim of quantity is concerned with providing information as required. It should not be less informative or more informative. Maxim of relevance recommends that the utterance should be relevant to the topic being conversed. Maxim of manner requires the speaker's utterance to be understandable or comprehensible or not ambiguous. It should be not be blurred. This study aims to determine the kinds of maxim violations done by the students during classroom interaction and the reasons behind the students violating the maxims. This study used observation and interview methods to collect the data. The study results show that there are three maxims violated by students, namely violating the maxim of quantity, relevance, and quality, with a total of 25 utterances. The students violate the maxim because they want to save face and build someone’s belief. This study found that the students violated three maxims when interacting with the teacher. They were violating the maxim of quality, violating the maxim of quantity, and violating the maxim of relevance. This study found 2 violating the maxim of quality, 14 violating the maxim of quantity, and 9 violating the maxim of relevance.

Abstract

Curriculum change is conducted as an effort to raise the standard of education. In Indonesia context, the education curriculum has been shifted from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum. This change brings out some pros and cons in which some teachers support this alteration, meanwhile, others say no to this change. In response to that claim, this research aimed to analyze the differences between the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum from the teacher’s understanding. To achieve that goal this qualitative research was conducted through the use of semi- structured interviews as the data collection. The data were collected from an English teacher in one of the senior high schools in Garut, West Java. The result showed that the respondent has quite understood the difference between the 2013 curriculum and the Merdeka curriculum in the aspect of the general characteristics of the curriculum and the learning method used. Even the findings revealed that understanding of the curriculum can be captured more for the Merdeka curriculum than the 2013 curriculum, meaning that there are many aspects of the 2013 curriculum that the teacher has implemented but she still does not fully understand. In spite of these findings, the teacher claims that there are challenges such as insufficient infrastructure or supporting factors of facilities to help her in conducting the Merdeka curriculum

Abstract

The importance of understanding the complex dynamics between product differentiation, service quality, and consumer satisfaction in the ever-evolving digital era. Service quality is associated with purchasing decisions, where consumers are more likely to be satisfied if the company provides services that meet or exceed consumer expectations. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze consumer satisfaction from product differentiation and the quality of services that have been provided. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive study by analyzing the influence of consumer satisfaction, data collection techniques using observation and questionnaires, data analysis is carried out by testing validity, reliability and multiple linear regression. The results of data analysis show that the coefficients are interpreted that the constant value with a significance of 0.598 and the value of the dependent variable, namely Y, is 0.00. The coefficients in the variable coefficient model, in particular, help reveal the dynamics of the relationship when the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable varies depending on time or other conditions. Therefore, Service satisfaction from product diversity also provides an optimal impact on people's lives.

Abstract

One of the main challenges in learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at the Junior High School level is students' low ability to write recount texts that conform to the correct grammatical rules and text structure. Although recount texts are a type of text that is routinely taught, many students still experience difficulties in terms of the use of proper grammar, development of ideas, and cohesion between parts of the text. This suggests the need for an in-depth evaluation of the quality of students' texts, not only in terms of content but also in terms of their structure and function in the context of communication. This study is significant because it provides a thorough analysis of students' recount texts using the Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) approach through three metafunctions: interpersonal, experiential, and textual. Thus, this study not only reveals the extent to which students fulfill the expected generic structures and linguistic features but also identifies areas of weakness, particularly in aspects such as tense usage, subject-verb congruence, and cohesion devices. This finding is crucial for informing the development of more targeted learning strategies, particularly in enhancing the grammatical consistency and cohesion of students' texts. By understanding the linguistic aspects that students have not mastered, teachers can design more targeted teaching interventions to improve the overall quality of student writing.

Abstract

Effective performance management and recruitment training are urgently needed for MSMEs. Effective human resource management is crucial for building a strong work team and supporting business sustainability. The integration of performance management and recruitment training is rarely examined as a single program. The training is implemented through interactive lectures, case studies, discussions, simulations, and evaluations. This training employs a participatory and applied approach, prioritizing the active involvement of MSME participants throughout the entire process. The results of the performance management training demonstrate that MSMEs need to develop the skills to develop key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly monitor and evaluate employee performance, and provide constructive feedback. The recruitment process is also a weak point for many MSMEs. Therefore, a sustainable strategy for strengthening MSME human resource capacity, oriented toward increasing productivity, operational efficiency, and business competitiveness amidst increasingly competitive economic challenges, is essential.

Abstract

This problem arises from the lack of specific training integrating language and communication aspects in the context of entrepreneurship. The lack of explicit instruction on appropriate, logical, and persuasive language use results in students lacking confidence in conveying their creative ideas. This method was chosen because it aligns with the objectives of community service activities, which are direct and participatory interventions, and allows for continuous reflection and improvement based on the results of the activities. Grammar training is effective as a medium for improving students' communication competencies in entrepreneurial projects, while simultaneously supporting the development of creative, communicative, and self-confident character traits at the elementary and secondary levels in Cilawu District. Teachers are encouraged to act as facilitators, assisting students in honing their communication skills, rather than simply as language instructors. Therefore, Grammar is effective as a medium for improving students' communication competencies in entrepreneurial projects, while simultaneously supporting the development of creative, communicative, and self-confident character traits at the elementary and secondary levels in Cilawu District.
