Abstract

Individuals of Kampung Dukuh have their own uniqueness, which should be visible from their straightforward way of life and submitting to the encompassing standard principles, with this peculiarity turning into a neighborhood insight that can be utilized as a wellspring of social examinations learning, connected with issues that should be visible from the should be visible from the variable of diminishing information on nearby insight. The reason for this study was to get data about the conventional traditions of Kampung Dukuh seen from the presently creating customs like the Cebor Opatpuluh custom. The strategy utilized for this exploration utilizes a subjective contextual investigation technique, which should be visible from the uniqueness of the Dukuh customary town, which has its own qualities. In view of this exploration, the outcomes acquired in villa towns are towns situated in Ciroyom town, Cikelet Locale, Garut Rule, West Java. Dukuh customary town is one of the conventional towns in west Java which actually keeps up with its social practices, including strict qualities, which are areas of strength for exceptionally social standards in light of Islamic regulation. Individuals of Dukuh emphatically trust in the karomah of their precursors and keep up with the standards of their predecessors, including the Cebor Opatpuluh custom that is as yet creating and is as yet feasible today. That custom was made in light of Islamic regulation by the Dukuh people group, it tends to be seen from the time and strage in the execution in view of the standards utilized in Islamic (the strategy for filtration), the qualities contained in the Cebor Opatpuluh twenty first practice of strict qualities, social qualities and social qualities.

Abstract

The low interest of students in social studies subjects is possible because the teacher's efforts have not been optimal to increase the creative thinking of students' learning. Students' critical thinking skills are still low, seen during the current learning process, students are not encouraged to improve their thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to identify an increase in students' critical thinking skills after applying the games-based learning model of memorization. This study uses a quantitative method, this type of research uses a quasy experiment, the sample in this study is class VII students at SMPN 1 Tarogong Kidul, the instruments used for critical thinking skills are pretest and posttest, observation and documentation study. Based on the results of research and data management using the Mann Whitney test, the value of Sig.0.021 and α = 0.05 means Sig. < α, then the game-based memorization learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills. So that students have the skills and abilities to think critically in the social studies learning process.Keywords: Memorization Model, Critical Thinking Ability, Social Studies Learning.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the paradigm of conventional face-to-face learning towards online learning. This situation makes the world of education inevitably has to immediately adaptable to the conditions that occur. Social studies education one of the subjects that have been functions to assist students in overcoming the problems of social and community life has an important role in helping students have 21st-century skills to overcome the problems that occur. The progress of science and technology, especially in the field of information and communication technology, has led to the rapid spread of globalization and has an impact on various sectors. This condition indirectly requires students to has the ability to sort content and information that they get through the internet think or digital literacy. In social studies learning, digital literacy is one of the supports for developing students' knowledge of social issues that occur in society in real time. This study aims to exams the implementation of digital literacy in social studies learning. This type of research is qualitative research. The location of research was carry out in an educational environment in Garut City, to be precisely at Karya Muda Junior High School in Banyuresmi. The method of data analysis in this research is interactive analysis. The validity of the data used is data triangulation. The results of the research implementation of digital literacy in social studies learning was carry out via Whatsapp, Google Classroom, Zoom, and Meet. The results of the study show that social studies teachers' digital literacy skills are still limited to using WhatsApp and Google Classroom media, that is due to the limitations of the applications owned by teachers and students.

Abstract

The cultural environment as a learning resource for students is one way to maintain and introduce local wisdom. The purpose of this study is to shape the character of students through the values and local wisdom of the Hajat Laut tradition, which is the culture closest to them. This research method uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design. Data collection techniques include triangulation (observation, interviews, and documentation). The results of this research are: 1) The tradition of sea celebration is a fisherman's celebration activity that has been carried out since ancient times by the ancestors. 2) The implementation of the sea ritual tradition is supported by positive activities that have cultural and social values that can be used as community guidelines for interaction. 3) The values contained in the Hajat Sea tradition are religious values, cultural values, mutual cooperation values, artistic values, social care values, recreational values, economic values, and the value of love for the homeland and cultural history. 4) Internalization of the competence of local wisdom values of the Hajat Laut tradition, namely by correlating these values to those concerned as well as the material contained in textbooks. Therefore, the tradition of going to sea can be used as a source of social studies learning, which has a correlation with the natural environment, social environment, cultural environment, and economic environment contained in social studies subject matter.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to expand social studies learning resources based on local wisdom in the community by introducing the traditional values of the hajat sasih ceremony in Kampung Naga as a source of social studies learning for students. The research method of this thesis uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods with observation, documentation and interviews with traditional leaders of the Kampung Naga community, local government and educators and students in schools. The results of this study are 1). The values contained in the implementation of the hajat sasih ceremony tradition include religious values, social values and cultural values, 2). The educators at SMPN 2 Salawu strongly support and implement the use of learning resources based on local wisdom by using the tradition of the Hajat Sasih ceremony in Kampung Naga as a social studies learning resource based on the adaptation results of basic learning competencies, 3). The results of internalization at SMPN 2 Salawu students gave very good responses to local wisdom-based learning related to their environment, students showed positive reactions and liked it very much. The values of the local wisdom of the Hajat Sasih tradition can be used as a social studies learning resource by identifying the values of the local wisdom of the hajat sasih ceremony and then adjusting them to the basic competencies of learning.

Abstract

Education is basically a conscious effort to develop the potential of students optimally. In learning social sciences, there are still many who consider it saturated learning and lack of interest by students so that it has an impact on student learning outcomes. One of the efforts to overcome this is the need for innovation and creative learning to package or deliver social studies subject matter so that learning activities become effective. One of them is using the crossword puzzle method. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the crossword puzzle method in social studies learning to social studies learning outcomes. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were students of class VIII, SMPN 3, Tarogong Kidul. Samples were taken by the purposive sampling technique with one experimental class and one control class. The instruments used in this study were test question sheets and observation sheets. Based on the results of the statistical analysis conducted, the initial abilities of the two groups resulted in the same abilities. Meanwhile, for the final test results, the Asymp.Sig.2-tailed value is 0.000 and is 0.05, meaning 0.000 <0.05, then Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there are significant differences or learning using effective methods to be applied. The response of students to the crossword puzzle learning method used in the experimental class resulted in a very good response.

Abstract

The role of the teacher, especially in this case, the social studies teacher, is required to be able to organize classes in accordance with the expectations and demands of society. Teachers must be able to analyze the various dynamics that occur in the classroom. One of the activities carried out by the teacher is to carry out the process of growing self-efficacy in students, especially for students who experience learning difficulties. The research approach uses quantitative research methods, such as the quasi-experimental design, and the research design uses a nonequivalent control group design. Then the purposeful or judgmental sampling technique. Research data collection techniques using tests identified through pretests and posttests and non-tests through observation, interviews, and documentation studies Data validation analysis techniques use validity tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and normalized gain tests. The results of the study show that based on the results of data analysis and statistical calculations using Microsoft Excel 2019, there is no significant difference in pre-test results between the experimental class and the control class before learning begins. Based on the results of the data analysis after the teacher played a role in overcoming students' learning difficulties in social studies subjects, there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class after learning took place. In this way, social studies teachers play a role in supporting students' self-efficacy.

Abstract

Social studies education is textual learning, and is based on textbooks only, thus providing a lack of digital-based literacy in social studies learning. Where social studies learning must be aware of technological developments and learning media, as an effort to provide interest in learning for students. The tendency so far used by teachers is that social studies learning is only focused on textbooks, without providing innovative learning media that can integrate digitally. Social studies learning will provide literacy skills which are a challenge in the 21st century era, especially in realizing digital literacy skills, one of which is using augmented reality media. The aim of this research is to analyze the improvement of digital literacy skills with augmented reality media in social studies learning for students. The research method used is quantitative through a quasi-experimental research design by applying pretest and posttest instruments carried out by junior high school students. Next, the data was analyzed using SPSS IBM 26 analysis software. The results of this research can be identified that the application of augmented reality media has an impact on increasing students' digital literacy in social studies learning with the level of difference between the control class and the experimental class being quite significant. Through the implementation of augmented reality media, it can increase students' interest in literacy in social studies learning. Therefore, the implementation of augmented reality media can improve students' digital literacy skills in social studies learning quite significantly

Abstract

The development of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in West Java, which is increasingly becoming a health problem, has an impact on various sectors of people's lives. Where this disease must still be watched out for because the rate of spread is relatively fast, thus causing a higher mortality rate that cannot be ignored. The process of developing the Covid-19 pandemic in the West Java region, including Garut regency, is quite natural, making people need to increase their immunity, in addition to implementing the rules on health protocols. In an effort to increase the body's immunity, the public can consume foods that are in accordance with health recommendations. One of the herbal drinks that can increase the body's immunity is the Red Ginger drink. Red is an herbal product from local resident's agriculture in an effort to increase body immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method through case studies and literature reviews. The results of this study indicate that; (1) Youth Organizations in Garut regency play a very important role in achieving Red Ginger agricultural products which are managed into herbal drinks to increase immunity of the community during the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) Karang Taruna Garut Regency play an active role in distributing Red Ginger drinks but has not optimally until only technology such as social media or media partners, (3) The activity of managing Red Ginger as a herbal drink by Karang Taruna, Garut Regency, has become an alternative driving force for the economy during the Covid-19 pandemic for farmers and foster and entrepreneurial spirit for the youth.
