Abstract

Introduction: Complementary therapies have now become part of innovations that play a role in COPD patients so that they become essential as treatment supporters that have benefits, especially in improving the respiratory system, especially in COPD patients who return after exacerbations. Objectives: This study aims to determine strategies in improving the respiratory system in COPD patients through comprehensive therapy. Methods: Selection of articles using PRISMA guidelines using databased in the form of Scopus, CINAHL, Cochrane, ProQuest so that a narrative review is formed. The criteria for eligible articles include RCT or non-RCT with pre-test and post-test design, published between 2018-2023, full text, English, not considering control group, not studies related to drugs to treat diseases and complications. Results: The results obtained in this study after adjusting to the study criteria were 9 feasible articles. Complementary therapies in COPD patients can include breathing techniques, suppression techniques, music therapy, energy muscle techniques, and pulmonary rehabilitation. The complementary therapies in the study had almost mostly an impact on improving the respiratory system status of COPD patients Conclusion: Complementary therapy of COPD patients can be a holistic approach that must be a concern that can be implemented into various stages of treatment of COPD patients by involving multidisciplinary teams so that there is defense and improvement of the respiratory system

Abstract

Background The family plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and well-being of its members. One of its essential functions is health care, including disease prevention, caregiving, and health-related decision-making. This function becomes particularly important during times of crisis or illness. Family resilience refers to the ability of a family to adapt, recover, and grow stronger in the face of adversity. A strong health care function within the family may contribute positively to building this resilience. However, the direct relationship between family health care function and family resilience remains underexplored, especially in the Indonesian context. Understanding this relationship is important for developing family-based interventions to promote health and resilience. Therefore, this study aims to examine the correlation between family health care function and family resilience. Objectives This study aims to determine the relationship between the implementation of family health care functions and family reliability. Methods The design of this study is a correlation study with the type of analytical correlation research through a cross sectional study approach Results The results of the bivariate analysis can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between health care function and family resilience in respondents (p = 0.001). The results of the multivariate analysis can be concluded that respondents who have a high income have a 15,897 times chance of having good family reliability compared to those who have a low income. Conclusion The family needs to improve the function of family health care where the family must recognize health problems experienced by family members.

Abstract

Breakfast is the first meal consumed in the morning before starting activities, usually before 10 a.m. Breakfast plays an important role because it provides 20-35% of the calories needed by the body to carry out daily activities. In addition to providing energy, breakfast can also improve concentration, memory, and information processing speed. Glucose obtained from breakfast supports nervous system activity, mood, and cognitive function. Cognitive function is very important in the process of learning, thinking, and decision making, and is greatly influenced by breakfast intake. Physiologically, the brain needs glucose as its main source of energy, and breakfast helps restore energy supplies after fasting overnight. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational and cross-sectional design, involving 40 eighth-grade students with total sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires, digit symbol tests (DST), and observations. The results of the analysis using the Spearman rho test showed a positive relationship between breakfast and learning concentration, with a value of r = 0.521 and a value of p = 0.001. This study is expected to contribute to education and health policies, including education on the importance of breakfast to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Administrative services are a crucial component of the healthcare system, especially for patients using Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (BPJS). Despite the implementation of digital tools such as the Mobile JKN application, many patients still report complaints related to long waiting times, unclear procedures, and a lack of empathy and responsiveness from administrative staff. This study aims to explore the experiences of BPJS patients regarding administrative services at Jakarta Islamic Hospital Sukapura, Kelapa Gading. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive phenomenological method. Participants were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria such as age (20–60 years), being a current inpatient or outpatient, and being able to communicate effectively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The study identified two main themes: responsiveness of administrative staff and empathy during service delivery. Most participants perceived administrative services as inefficient, citing long waiting times, insufficient information, and unresponsive staff when addressing patient concerns. Additionally, the level of empathy demonstrated by staff was considered inadequate, as some patients felt misunderstood or unheard. The study recommends enhancing staff training, improving the hospital’s information systems, and conducting regular evaluations of service quality. Increasing responsiveness and empathy is expected to foster a more positive experience for BPJS patients and contribute to greater patient satisfaction
