Abstract

Pelajaran matematika memerlukan pemusatan pemikiran untuk mengingat dan mengenal kembali materi yang dipelajari sehingga siswa harus mampu menguasai konsep materi tersebut (Murnak dkk 2018: 164). Aspek yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah pemahaman konsep. Pemahaman konsep matematika adalah mengerti konsep matematika dengan benar, yaitu siswa dapat menerjemahkan, menafsirkan, dan menyimpulkan suatu konsep matematika berdasarkan pembentukan pengetahuannya sendiri, bukan sekedar menghafal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara rasa ingin tahu dengan pemahaman konsep matematis pada siswa kelas VII di SMPN3 Barusjahe. Melalui analisis kolerasi sperman terhadap data yang diperoleh dari angket rasa ingin tahu dan tes pemahaman konsep matematis, penelitian ini menemukan adanya kolerasi yang signifikan diantara kedua variable tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa altivitas siswa yang paling sering melibatkan diskusi tentang gejala alam atau pembelajaran baru memiliki hubungan yang kuat dengan kemampuan mereka dalam memahami konsep matematis tertentu, seperti mengelompokkan objek berdasarkan sifat-sifat tertentu dan menerangkan Kembali sebuah konsep.

Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the extent to which differentiated learning influences students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. The focus of this study was the probability material, which was taught to grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The experimental class was taught with a differentiated learning approach in the form of practicums. Data collection instruments consisted of observations and tests. Based on the results of the analysis, a significance value (Sing. 2-tailed) of <0.001 was obtained, which is below the 5% significance level (0.05). this indicates that there is a significant influence of differentiated learningin the form of practicums on students’ understanding of mathematical concepts on the probability material in the grade X of SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The results of the data analysis showed that the influence of differentiated learningin in the from of practicums on conceptual understanding was 71,3%.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of mathematical problem-solving skills among students at the Jambi Medan Private Vocational High School, which is attributed to the use of conventional teaching methods that do not sufficiently encourage active engagement and deep understanding. The objective of this study is to determine the influence and magnitude of the impact of the Deep Learning approach on the mathematical problem-solving skills of 11th-grade students in matrix material. The research method used is a Quasi-Experiment with a Post-test Only Control Group Design. The research population includes all 11th-grade students, with a sample selected through Cluster Random Sampling consisting of class XI MPLB 2 as the experimental class and XI MPLB 1 as the control class. Data analysis results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class (72.62) was higher than that of the control class (46.40). Based on the t-test, a significance value of 0.000 0.05 was obtained, indicating a significant effect. The Effect Size test using Cohen’s D yielded a value of 3.29, which falls under the “very large” criterion. Thus, the Deep Learning approach is effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving skills at the Jambi Medan Private Vocational High School.
