Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the impact of job autonomy, innovation culture, and emotional intelligence on the sales performance of MSMEs, with creativity as a mediating variable. Given the intense competition in the business environment, MSMEs must foster innovation and creativity to enhance their sales performance. Job autonomy enables MSME owners and managers to make independent decisions, fostering creativity in problem-solving. At the same time, an innovation culture promotes boldness in generating new ideas, and emotional intelligence strengthens customer and team relationships. Method – This research adopts a quantitative approach using the SEM-PLS methodology, with a sample of 100 MSMEs in Bandung city, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected via an online questionnaire. Findings – The findings reveal that job autonomy, innovation culture, and emotional intelligence significantly and positively affect sales performance, with creativity playing a crucial mediating role. Implications – Theoretically, this study extends the self-determination theory (SDT), organizational innovation theory, and resource-based view (RBV) theory by demonstrating the interplay between autonomy, innovation, and emotional intelligence in enhancing creativity and sales performance. Practically, the findings highlight the need for MSME owners to foster workplace autonomy, encourage an innovative work culture, and enhance employees' emotional intelligence to improve business success through creative approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for enhancing citizen participation in environmental education through program innovations based on multi-stakeholder collaboration and the use of digital technology. The method employed is a literature review with a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, primarily intended to enrich references related to community service in the field of environmental studies. Data were collected from scholarly articles in Google Scholar and credible websites within the period of 1977–2025. From the initial 50 articles identified, 27 were selected through a strict screening process based on relevance, quality, and contribution to the research topic. The findings reveal that enhancing citizen participation is influenced by cross-sector collaboration, innovative learning design, and the application of interactive and inclusive digital technologies. Theories such as Civic Engagement, Collaborative Governance, the Technology Acceptance Model, Self-Determination Theory, Social Learning, and Diffusion of Innovations provide relevant conceptual foundations for understanding the dynamics of participation. Case studies such as the Climate Village Program (ProKlim), Digital Waste Bank in Bandung, and Pentingsari Tourism Village in Yogyakarta provide empirical evidence of the successful implementation of these strategies. This research makes an important contribution to the development of participatory-based environmental education, strengthens multi-stakeholder collaboration, and enriches sustainable community service practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze employee career development strategies based on gamification and microlearning and their impact on human resource (HR) retention and performance. The research employs a qualitative approach with a literature review method, using descriptive analysis of literature obtained from Google Scholar and credible websites between 1964 and 2025. Initially, 50 articles were collected, then rigorously screened to obtain 24 relevant articles for analysis. The review findings indicate that gamification enhances motivation, engagement, and enjoyable learning experiences, while microlearning facilitates short, focused, and applicable learning. The integration of both creates adaptive and personalized career development experiences, contributing to improved employee retention and HR performance. This study provides practical implications for organizations in designing technology-based career development strategies while reinforcing the theoretical foundations of Human Capital and Self-Determination Theory in the context of modern HR development.
