Abstract

Deep learning in a pedagogical context is an in-depth learning approach that involves essential understanding, emotional engagement, and the reinforcement of values and character. In practice, not all teachers have a sufficient understanding of this deep learning approach. This service project aims to improve teachers' understanding of Deep Learning in 21st-century learning on Tidung Island. The activity was conducted as a 32-hour seminar held over three days, from June 10 to 12, 2025, in a hybrid format combining in-person and online sessions. A total of 48 teachers from public elementary schools and kindergartens on Tidung Island participated in the seminar. The event was held at SD Negeri Pulau Tidung 01 Pagi, located in the Thousand Islands archipelago. The seminar materials included: 1) What is Deep Learning?, 2) Deep Learning in 21st-Century Education, 3) The Application of AI in Education: Strategies and Practices of Deep Learning in the Curriculum, and 4) Enhancing Literacy Through Deep Learning, presented by four speakers. The seminar results indicated that teacher training was conducted on Tidung Island through a seminar, and that the seminar increased teachers' understanding of deep learning in 21st-century learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation process of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model and to examine the development of collaborative attitudes among fifth grade elementary school students in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning at SD Negeri Sindang IV Sumedang. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through structured observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The subjects consisted of one fifth-grade teacher and three selected students using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that the teacher implemented all five stages of TGT class presentation, team study, game, tournament, and team recognition systematically and consistently with 100% implementation rate in the Excellent category. After the implementation of TGT, students' collaborative attitudes across five aspects (cooperation, active participation, individual responsibility, peer communication, and sportsmanship) were all categorized as Excellent (100%). However, interview data revealed that individual internalization of collaborative values had not yet been uniform, with some students exhibiting passive behavior, insufficient tournament preparation, and difficulty managing constructive disagreement. This study concludes that the TGT model effectively fosters collaborative attitudes in fifth-grade students, consistent with the cooperative learning (gotong royong) dimension of the Pancasila Student Profile in the Merdeka Curriculum, though sustained implementation is required for deeper and more equitable internalization.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) Students' affective responses to the use of Indonesia Virtual tour learning media on the material of Indonesia's geographical conditions, 2) Factors that influence students' affective responses to the use of Indonesia Virtual tour learning media on the material of Indonesia's geographical conditions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study research type. With the research subjects being fifth grade students of Gunungsari State Elementary School, located on Jl. Sindang Taman, RT 02/03, Jatimulya, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province. Research data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews and questionnaires. The conclusions from the results of this study are first, students' affective responses to the use of Indonesia Virtual tour interactive learning media in learning the material of Indonesia's geographical conditions generally show good results. This is shown through students' attention, activeness, involvement, and enthusiasm during the learning process. Students are able to participate in learning activities, such as discussions, questions and answers, and media exploration, and show positive attitudes such as respecting friends' opinions and working together in groups. Second, students' affective responses are influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include student interest, motivation, and self-confidence, while external factors include the use of interactive learning media, the teacher's role, and the classroom atmosphere. The use of the Indonesia Virtual tour media increased student interest because it presented material on Indonesia's geographical conditions visually and concretely, making it easier for students to understand.

Abstract

Independent learning is one of the key skills that needs to be developed in primary school pupils. However, teaching that remains teacher-centred and the limited use of innovative learning media mean that pupils’ independent learning has not yet developed optimally. This study aims to develop a flipbook-based digital comic to support pupils’ independent learning on the subject of economic conditions in my region. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which comprises the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects comprised 47 Year 5 primary school pupils who participated in individual, small-group, and large-group trials. Data were collected through expert validation, pupil response questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The results showed that the developed media achieved an average validation score of 94.8%, falling into the ‘highly valid’ category. Student responses to the media reached an average of 92.78%, whilst the observation results achieved a percentage of 93.83%; both fell into the ‘very good’ category. These findings indicate that the flipbook-based digital comic developed is valid, practical, and suitable for use, and has the potential to support the development of students’ independent learning through the presentation of visual, interactive, and contextual material.
