Abstract

Toddler weight monitoring is a routine activity carried out by the integrated health post (posyandu). Routinely weighing toddlers means that toddler growth can be monitored intensively. The sooner it is found, the sooner cases of malnutrition or severe malnutrition will be handled. Data from the Ministry of Health shows that 65% of active integrated health posts in Indonesia have not reached the national target of 80%. The purpose of this activity is to optimize integrated health post activities. This community service activity has an influence on increasing mothers' knowledge of the importance of monthly weighing of toddlers.

Abstract

Non-compliance with taking medication in schizophrenia patients can have various negative impacts, both for the patient and the surrounding environment. To reduce this negative impact, it is very important to pay attention to medication compliance in patients with schizophrenia and know the things that cause this compliance. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between insight factors and self-stigma on medication adherence in schizophrenia patients in outpatient clinics at mental hospitals in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative design with a cross sectional study approach. The number of samples was 195 respondents using the systematic random sampling method. Data collection uses 4 instruments consisting of 4, namely Demographic Data, BCIS, ISMI-10, MMAS. Bivariate analysis in this study used the Man-Whitney test and Chi-Square test, and multivariate analysis used logistic regression in backward Wald modeling. The results of the multivariate research found self-review (p=0.000, OR=5.747), and self-stigma (p=0.000, OR= 4.814). The factor that has the most influence on adherence to taking medication in schizophrenia patients is self-awareness with an OR value of 5.747, which means that patients with high self-awareness are 5.747 times more likely to comply with taking medication. It is hoped that nurses will focus more on improving their abilities and skills in providing care to schizophrenic patients with one of the main focuses of care being increasing insight into patients.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic condition characterized by blood pressure exceeding the normal range, specifically 140/90 mmHg. One of the primary contributors to hypertension is insufficient potassium intake. Studies suggest that foods rich in potassium, such as pumpkin, can help regulate blood pressure. Pumpkin is an excellent source of potassium and dietary fiber, which are beneficial in managing hypertension. This health education program aimed to provide the Cot Paya community with knowledge about how pumpkin pudding can be used as a natural remedy to lower blood pressure. The method employed in this activity included a lecture followed by a question-and-answer session, allowing for an interactive exchange of information. The intervention focused on educating families and elderly individuals about the causes of hypertension, its impact on health, and the potential benefits of incorporating pumpkin pudding into their diet. The response from the Cot Paya community was positive, with many participants showing keen interest in the topic. Several parents and elderly residents actively engaged by asking questions related to hypertension and its management. The educational session not only improved awareness about hypertension but also provided practical knowledge on using pumpkin pudding as a dietary tool for managing high blood pressure. By the end of the session, participants demonstrated a better understanding of hypertension, its prevention, and the role of potassium-rich foods like pumpkin in reducing blood pressure. The activity was well-received and laid the foundation for continued health education within the community, particularly in promoting natural dietary interventions to prevent and manage hypertension.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus. This mosquito is a fast-growing mosquito and causes nearly 390 million people to be infected every year. The symptoms of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever are similar to dengue fever. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever has several other symptoms such as continuous heartburn, bleeding in the nose, mouth, gums, and bruising on the vector's skin. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease that often causes outbreaks and causes death, especially in children. The One House One Jumantik Movement (G1R1J) is community participation and empowerment by involving every family in examining, monitoring and eradicating mosquito larvae to control vector-borne diseases, especially dengue fever, through the cultivation of 3M PLUS Mosquito Nest Eradication.

Abstract

Medication non-compliance in schizophrenia patients has the potential to have significant negative impacts on the patient's clinical condition, the continuation of therapy, and the surrounding social environment. Low medication adherence can lead to symptom relapse, increased hospitalization rates, and a decreased quality of life. Therefore, efforts to minimize these impacts need to be directed at improving medication adherence, one of which is through identifying factors that influence adherence and selecting appropriate antipsychotic medications. This study aims to determine the relationship between antipsychotic medication use and medication adherence in schizophrenia patients. The research design used was a quantitative cross-sectional study approach. The study sample size was 195 respondents, obtained using a systematic random sampling method. The research instruments included an antipsychotic medication use sheet and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS). Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test to determine the significance of the relationship. The results showed that patients given typical antipsychotic medications had a higher adherence percentage (49.4%) compared to patients receiving atypical antipsychotic medications (27%) or a combination (23.6%). These findings confirm a significant relationship between the type of antipsychotic medication and patient adherence (χ² = 7.307; p = 0.026). The study's conclusions emphasize that the choice of antipsychotic, particularly typical antipsychotics, can be an important factor in improving medication adherence in patients with schizophrenia. Therefore, healthcare professionals are expected to carefully consider the type of medication prescribed, while still taking into account the patient's clinical condition, side effects, and individual needs, so that adherence and therapeutic success can be optimized.

Abstract

The prevalence of social media addiction is continuously increasing worldwide, including in Indonesia. Instagram has become the most widely used platform among students aged 18–25 years. Although Instagram provides many benefits, spending too much time on the application can cause learning concentration problems, procrastination, and a decrease in Grade Point Average (GPA). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a correlation between Instagram social media addiction and GPA among students of the Diploma Three Nursing Program at Universitas Abulyatama. This study applied a cross-sectional quantitative correlational design. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling, involving 78 students from a total population of 362 students. The research instruments consisted of cumulative GPA data and The Instagram Addiction Scale (TIAS). The study was conducted at the Diploma Three Nursing Program of Universitas Abulyatama from April 26 to May 9, 2025. Data analysis was performed using bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents were in the moderate category of Instagram addiction (56 students, 71.8%), followed by the high category (22 students, 28.2%). Meanwhile, GPA distribution indicated that 35 students (44.9%) were in the very high category, 24 students (30.8%) in the high category, and 19 students (24.3%) in the moderate category. The bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test obtained a p-value of 0.001 (≤ 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between Instagram addiction and GPA. In conclusion, there is a correlation between Instagram social media addiction and students’ academic performance. Although Instagram use is widespread, students are expected to develop good time management skills and prioritize academic responsibilities to minimize the negative impact of social media use.

Abstract

The Emergency Severity Index (ESI) is a triage method that determines the escalation of treatment for patients based on the severity of their emergency condition. In order to improve the level of satisfaction of individuals receiving health services, it is necessary to provide quality services that are responsive to the expectations and needs of patients. This study aims to explore the relationship between the ESI (Emergency Severity Index) level and patient satisfaction in the Emergency Room of Pertamedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital. The research design applied is analytical with a cross-sectional method. From a total population of 500 patients in December, 51 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used included the ESI (Emergency Severity Index) Questionnaire and CSQ-8 (Client Satisfaction Questionnaire), with univariate and bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that in the high ESI index category, most participants (37 people or 92.5%) expressed satisfaction with the services received, while 3 people (7.5%) were dissatisfied. In the moderate ESI group, 9 respondents (90.0%) reported satisfaction, while only 1 respondent (10.0%) reported dissatisfaction. Conversely, in the mild ESI level, there were no patients who were satisfied (0%), and one patient (20.0%) was dissatisfied. Through analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test, a ρ value of 0.009 (≤ 0.05) was obtained, indicating a significant relationship between ESI levels and patient satisfaction. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between ESI classification and the level of satisfaction of service users in the Emergency Department. The researchers recommend that patients gain a better understanding of the ESI stages, and the Emergency Department is expected to provide education, such as putting up informative banners related to ESI (Emergency Severity Index) to increase patient understanding of the triage process in the Emergency Department.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the global public health issues with serious implications as it may lead to severe complications such as stroke, coronary heart disease, and kidney failure. Elderly individuals are among the most vulnerable groups, with the highest prevalence found in the age group of 65–74 years (57.6%) and those over 75 years (63.8%). Non-pharmacological treatment for hypertension includes regular and consistent elderly gymnastics. This study aims to examine the effect of elderly gymnastics on blood pressure among elderly individuals with hypertension at the Rumoh Sejahtera Geunaseh Sayang Nursing Home, Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh. The study applied a quasi-experimental design with a deductive approach. The population consisted of 55 elderly individuals, and 17 were selected as the sample using total sampling technique. The elderly gymnastics intervention was conducted three times a week, from April 17th to 22nd, 2025. Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention using a pre-test and post-test observation sheet. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test, suitable for non-parametric data. Results showed that on the first day, there was no significant difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.091). On the second day, systolic blood pressure showed a significant decrease (p = 0.003), while diastolic pressure remained non-significant (p = 0.161). On the third session, a significant reduction occurred in both systolic (p = 0.000) and diastolic (p = 0.001) blood pressure. Conclusion: Elderly gymnastics has an effect on reducing blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension. This intervention may serve as an effective and applicable non-pharmacological therapy in daily life.
