Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural genetik dengan memfokuskan pada unsur instrinsik dan unsur genetik pada novel “Jakarta Sebelum Pagi” karya Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis unsur struktural genetik serta keterkaitan antarunsur dalam novel tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan unsur intrinsik dan genetik didalamnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tema yang dimiliki adalah percintaan dibalut dengan misteri. Pengaluran dalam novel menggunakan teknik linier. Latar tempat yang digunakan dalam novel, yaitu di kota Jakarta, apartemen, Rumah Para Jompo, dan toko bunga. Novel ini berlatar waktu dini hari, pagi, siang, dan malam. Latar sosial pada novel, yaitu gambaran kehidupan masyarakat working class dengan kota Jakarta yang macet dan dipenuhi polusi. Tokoh utama dalam novel ini, yaitu Emina, Abel, dan Suki. Sementara, tokoh tambahan dalam novel ini, yaitu Pak Meneer, Nissa, Keiko, Datuk, Nenek, dan Nin. Sudut pandang yang digunakan adalah penceritaan intern dan ekstern. Gaya bahasa yang digunakan adalah hiperbola. Pengarang memberikan amanat pentingnya mempertahankan harga diri dan integritas pribadi dari lingkungan sekitar. Fakta kemanusiaan yang terdapat dalam novel ini adalah krisis gender dan masalah kesehatan yang serius. Pandangan dunia pengarang tergambar dari kritik mengenai kehidupan masyarakat di kota Jakarta.

Abstract

This research examines the drama script "Storm Throughout the Night" by Max Arifin with a structural approach. This drama raises the main theme of the conflict between idealism and reality in everyday life, especially regarding environmental changes from cities to villages. Through analysis of intrinsic elements such as theme, characters, plot, setting, language style, and message, it was found that the main characters, Jamil and Saenah, face inner conflicts between expectations and reality as well as personal values ​​and social pressure. The storyline depicts their emotional and mental journey in adapting to a new environment and searching for identity. This research shows the importance of maintaining loyalty to idealistic values ​​and the importance of dialogue and interaction in facing social challenges. A structural approach helps reveal the relationships between elements in a drama text, providing a deeper understanding of the meaning and message of this literary work.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking skills of elementary school students in Sukanagara Village, Tasikmalaya Regency through the application of the show and tell method. The background of the study stems from the problems of low student self-confidence, limited vocabulary, and passive participation when asked to speak in front of the class. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, documentation, and field notes focused on four indicators of speaking skills, namely fluency, courage, pronunciation, and vocabulary use. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' speaking skills, from 31.25% at the initial condition to 93.75% at the end of Cycle I, and reaching 100% in Cycle II. In addition, students appeared more confident, more courageous in expressing opinions, and were able to construct sentences more appropriately according to the context. Thus, the show and tell method has proven effective in creating an active, enjoyable learning atmosphere and is able to optimally improve students' speaking skills.
