Abstract

Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler disekolah dilaksanakan agar dapat membantu anak dalam mengembangkan potensinya baik itu keterampilan, komunikasi dan juga kemandirian. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya membutuhkan peran aktif antara pihak sekolah dan guru saja, melainkan membutuhkan dukungan dari orang tua serta keinginan dari siswa itu sendiri terutama bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pengimplementasian kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dalam meningkatkan kemandirian anak di SLB Negeri Keleyan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitiannya yakni salah satu guru yang terdapat di SLB Negeri Keleyan. Metode pengumpulan datanya adalah wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi dengan menggunakan alat penelitian berupa lembar wawancara dan juga dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan 3 tahap yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pelaporan. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa sekolah SLB Negeri Keleyan ini telah melaksanakan atau mengimplemetasikan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang berupa: Vocasi Tata boga, Vocasi cuci motor, Vocasi, Vocasi Laundry serta vocasi musik. Dengan adanya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler ini dapat kita lihat bahwa kegiatan ini telah membentuk anak menjadi lebih mandiri dan tidak bergantung dari orang lain sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa dengan adanya penerapan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler ini dikatakan berhasil. Sebab, anak menjadi lebih mandiri dalam mengerjakan apapun akan tetapi masih di dalam pantauan guru maupun orang tua.

Abstract

The Role of Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) in Management of Pandela Beach Tourism Objects. Currently, the tourism sector is one of the largest industries as well as a mainstay industry that can make a significant contribution to the economy for both the state and the region. So far, many new natural tourism potentials in Bangkalan have been discovered, one of which is a beach located in Lajing Village, Arosbaya District. Pandela Beach Tourism needs one of the roles of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). Because its function is to bridge the community so that it can realize its potentials. owned in managing and developing Pandela Beach natural tourism. This study aims to find out the role of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in managing the Pandela Beach tourist attraction and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in managing the Pandela Beach tourist attraction. There are several supporting factors, namely, the Pandela Beach tourist spot is the closest beach to the Suramadu Bridge and village officials who are very supportive. As for the inhibiting factors, the people's mindset in understanding tourism, limited sources of capital, and the management of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) themselves are still unable to be consistent in developing Pandela Beach attractions. The activities carried out in the research were socialization of tourism potential, revitalization of Pokdarwis, training on the abilities and skills of Pokdarwis members and the community in managing the tourism business sector. Suggestions that can be given are that there is a need for an icon or attraction for tourism, immediately realizing crafts to be traded so that they can be made special, and more controlling the role of each Pokdarwis member in managing Pandela Beach tourism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze educational services for children with Down Syndrome at SLB Negeri Keleyan. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method, using in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that educational services at SLB Negeri Keleyan involve adaptive and individualized teaching strategies, emphasis on daily living skills, the role of teachers as both emotional and academic facilitators, and strong collaboration with parents. Challenges identified include the limited number of special education teachers, insufficient inclusive learning facilities, and the lack of flexible curriculum design. These results suggest that the success of educational services for children with Down Syndrome depends not only on pedagogical approaches but also on synergy among teachers, families, and school environments. The study recommends strengthening teacher competencies, providing adaptive learning tools, and encouraging active parental involvement in the educational process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using picture card media on the early reading skills of a child with indications of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The method used was a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subject was an 11-year-old male student with indications of ASD at SDN Petaonan 4, who was selected through purposive sampling based on his ability to follow simple instructions and his basic letter recognition. The intervention was carried out through individualized learning using picture card media that integrated visual elements such as pictures, letters, and simple syllables. The results showed an increase in the early reading skill score from 18 (moderate category) in the pretest phase to 30 (high category) in the posttest phase, indicating an improvement of 12 points. This improvement was evident in letter recognition, letter-sound pronunciation, reading simple syllables, and the ability to match letters with corresponding pictures. The success of this intervention was supported by the visual and concrete nature of the media, its alignment with the visual processing characteristics of children with ASD, and the implementation of individualized learning that allowed for pace adjustment. These findings suggest that picture card media can serve as an effective and practical alternative learning tool to support the early reading skills of children with ASD in inclusive schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of basic arithmetic skills among slow learners due to suboptimal teaching approaches in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of an individualized approach on improving the basic arithmetic skills of slow learners in Class 2A at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bangkalan. The study employed a quantitative approach using the Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an A-B design, comprising a baseline phase (A) and an intervention phase (B). The subject was a student with the initials YZK, identified as a Slow Learner based on teacher observations and recommendations. Data were collected through tests, structured observations, and documentation using a calculation test instrument consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions and 5 short-answer questions, and analyzed using graphical visualizations. The results showed an increase in scores from 60 in the baseline phase to 73.3 in the intervention phase, representing a rise of 13.3 points (22.2%). The 0% overlap percentage between conditions indicates that this improvement is a genuine effect of the intervention. Positive changes were also observed in the subjects’ learning behavior, including increased focus, engagement, and self-confidence. It is concluded that the individualized approach has proven effective in improving the basic arithmetic skills of students with learning difficulties and is suitable for implementation in inclusive education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Total Communication (Komtal) method in the learning process of deaf students at SLB Negeri KeleyanBangkalan, encompassing the implementation process, challenges faced by teachers, and its impact on students' communication abilities. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects consisted of four classroom teachers and eight deaf students at the elementary special education level (SDLB). Results indicate that Komtal implementation combines oral language, sign language (SIBI), gestures, facial expressions, and visual media simultaneously. This approach demonstrably increased students' active participation in learning and strengthened two-way communication between teachers and students. Primary challenges identified included teachers' limited proficiency in standardized sign language and the diverse levels of hearing impairment among students. The study concludes that the Komtal method exerts a significantly positive impact on communication quality and learning outcomes of deaf students at SLB Keleyan Bangkalan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the strategies used by classroom teachers in assisting slow learner students during the learning process in Class II of SDN Banyuajuh 3, Bangkalan Regency, East Java. Slow learners are students who have below-average learning abilities, especially in reading and writing skills, but are not categorized as students with intellectual disabilities. The background of this research is the finding that several second-grade students were not yet able to read and write independently, causing difficulties in participating in the learning process. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The data analysis process used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that slow learner students in Class II experienced significant difficulties in reading and writing, which affected their performance in all subjects because learning at this level requires independent literacy skills. The classroom teacher implemented three main strategies in assisting slow learner students: (1) providing additional guidance and gradual repetition of learning materials, (2) applying an individual approach during the learning process that addressed both academic and emotional aspects, and (3) maintaining active coordination with students’ parents. These strategies had a positive impact on the development of students’ reading and writing skills as well as their self-confidence, although progress occurred gradually. This study concludes that the successful assistance of slow learner students requires teacher patience, flexible learning strategies, and strong cooperation between schools and parents.
