Abstract

Peran matematika adalah Pendidikan adalah untuk mencerdaskan siswa dengan mengandaikan kecerdasan seperti pisau yang perlu diasah dan matematika sebagai batu gerindanya. Terdapat enam jenis kecerdasan yang dimiliki oleh setiap orang. Setiap orang memiliki paling sedikit satu jenis kecerdasan yang lebih unggul. Salah satu area pemecahan masalah matematika adalah kemampuan spasial. Kemampuan spasial dikelompokan atas tiga kategori, yaitu tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan spasial siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 8 MBD, mengidentifikasi perbedaan kemampuan spasial pada level tinggi, sedang dan rendah, serta mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan spasial terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Setelah selesai pembuatan laporan penelitian, direncanakan akan dipublikasikan pada jurnal terakreditasi pada tahun 2021. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif. Dengan analisis data statistic dengan bantuan software SPSS. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji regresi linear dan analisi varian satu jalur. Sebelum melakukan uji hipotesis terlebih dahulu menggunakan uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas, uji homigenitas dan uji linearitas. Tahap pengumpulan data direncanakan akan dilaksanakan sekitar bulan September dengan anggaran yang telah disediakan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Kristen Kalam Kudus Ambon dalam pemecahan masalah sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua peserta didik kelas VIII Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020, yang terdiri dari satu peserta didik laki-laki (JT) dan satu peserta didik perempuan (JLK). Alasan pengambilan subjek tersebut, dikarenakan mereka menjelaskan dengan baik hasil penyelesaian soal pemecahan masalah pada saat wawancara dilakukan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data mengacu pada konsep Miles dan Huberman yaitu tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh data bahwa proses berpikir kedua subjek memiliki proses berpikir yang berbeda-beda pada indikator proses berpikir dalam pemecahan masalah berdasarkan langkah-langkah polanya. Subjek JT dan subjek JLK memiliki proses berpikir konseptual, karena mereka mengungkapkan dengan teliti dan detail dalam memahami masalah, menyusun rencana penyelesaian, menyelesaikan masalah sesuai perencanaan, dan sangat cermat dalam mengatasi masalah yang diberikan dengan berbekal pengetahuan yang dimiliki dan konsep yang telah dipelajari. Subjek menggunakan lebih dari satu alternatif jawaban, dan pada langkah akhir selalu melakukan pengecekan kembali hasil yang diperoleh

Abstract

This research aims to develop a guidebook for the use of GeoGebra in creating mathematics learning media based on ethnomathematics for university students in mathematics education study program at Pattimura University PSDKU Maluku Barat Daya. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with 4D model developed by Thiagarajan et al. (1974) which consists of 4 stages, namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. This method and model are very feasible and systematically supports the development of the guidebook. By involving 2 validators, namely material experts and linguists, the draft of the guidebook was then revised and tested on a small limited group. Furthermore, based on descriptive statistical analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis, it can be concluded that the reference book using GeoGebra has been successfully prepared and meets the criteria of valid and effective. In addition, the use of this guidebook can also increase students' knowledge in understanding material related to cartesian coordinates, especially in drawing graphs of linear functions, quadratic functions, polynomials, trigonometric functions, exponent functions, and logarithms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Ambon pada materi pola bilangan, dengan jenis penelitian mixed method. Sumber data yang digunakan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Ambon dan guru mata pelajaran matematika. Pengambilan subjek dilakukan dengan teknik purpose sampling dan diperoleh 3 siswa yang masing-masing berada pada kategori kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa soal tes dan pedoman wawancara mendalam. Soal tes berbentuk esai dengan materi pola bilangan. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek ST (berkemampuan tinggi) memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan literasi matematis, subjek SS (berkemampuan sedang) memenuhi 2 indikator kemampuan literasi matematis dan subjek SR (berkemampuan rendah) hanya memenuhi 1 indikator kemampuan literasi matematis.

Abstract

The people of Moa Island have a cultural heritage in the form of Lutur Batu. Lutur Batu is a construction of large stones arranged side by side to form a circular wall. Lutur Batu is used to close village boundaries and as a garden fence which aims to protect plants from wild animals. This research aims to determine ethnomathematics studies on Lutur Batu on Moa Island. The ethnomathematics study of Lutur Batu on Moa Island in this research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the local wisdom of the people of Moa Island, as well as contribute to the recognition, maintenance, and preservation of cultural heritage with mathematical value in the region. Furthermore, an understanding of the geometric patterns and construction of Lutur Batu can be adopted in mathematics learning at school to increase students' interest in learning and understanding of mathematical concepts.This qualitative research focuses on an in-depth understanding of ways of thinking and using mathematics in the traditions and practices of making Lutur Batu in Moa Island. The results of the analysis on Lutur Batu and the manufacturing process showed that there are mathematical concepts such as circles, cylinders, comparisons, and statistics. Lutur Batu and the Mathematical concepts contained therein can be used in Mathematics learning at school to enrich learning materials, increase learning motivation and students' understanding of Mathematics concepts. Apart from that, it can increase students' insight and knowledge regarding the cultural heritage of Moa Island

Abstract

The low mathematical literacy skills of junior high school students in Indonesia, especially those living in the Small Border Islands, require serious attention from various stakeholders. Improving students’ mathematical literacy is a shared responsibility that can begin with introducing the form of PISA mathematical literacy questions to junior high school students. One effort to achieve this is through an ethnomathematics-based mathematical literacy competition. This competition aims to provide knowledge and understanding of PISA mathematical literacy to students in the Small Border Islands, particularly on Moa Island. The activity was carried out as a form of community service by lecturers and students, consisting of four stages: initial observation, socialization, implementation, and evaluation. The participants of this competition were students from seven junior high schools on Moa Island, with a total of 57 participants. The increase in participants’ knowledge regarding PISA mathematical literacy question forms was measured using a questionnaire. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding before and after participating in the competition. However, test data also indicated that the mathematical literacy skills of students on Moa Island remain relatively low. Therefore, sustainable programs are needed to improve the mathematical literacy skills of students in the Small Border Islands, including Moa Island.

Abstract

One area in Southwest Maluku Regency that still maintains the culture of its people is Lakor District. Parts of culture that are still maintained today are Lakor weaving, traditional houses, lutur, traditional games, traditional dances, and others. On the other hand, mathematics learning in schools does not accommodate these diverse cultures. Ethnomathematics learning is a way of utilizing local culture as a means of introducing mathematical material. Ethnomathematics-based learning training activities with the help of Geogebra software were carried out with a percentage of 98.83%. Abstract

Ethnomathematics connects mathematical concepts with cultural practices, making learning more contextual and meaningful. However, studies in small border islands remain limited, despite their rich cultural heritage. One example is Koli leaf weaving on Letti Island, which reflects mathematical ideas in daily life. This study aims to conduct an ethnomathematical study of Koli leaf-woven objects on small border islands using a qualitative ethnographic approach that includes literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data is analyzed using content analysis, thematic analysis, and pattern recognition. The findings reveal that Koli leaf weaving involves mathematical concepts, including plane shapes (triangles, circles, hexagons) and solid shapes (hexagonal prisms, cylinders). These findings imply that local cultural artifacts can serve as contextual learning resources in mathematics and science education. The geometric patterns of Koli leaf weaving can be used in geometry lessons to strengthen students’ mathematical literacy, critical thinking, and appreciation of local culture. This research also has implications for the preservation of local knowledge and the development of culture-based mathematics education on small border islands.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis etnomatematika anyaman daun koli menggunakan aplikasi canva pada materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model 4D, meliputi tahap Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas siswa kelas IXF (9 siswa) sebagai uji keterbacaan, IXA (29 siswa) sebagai uji coba lapangan, serta dua guru matematika dan satu dosen pendidikan matematika sebagai validator. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi, lembar keterbacaan, angket respons siswa, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan media berada pada kategori sangat valid dengan rata-rata 96%. Uji keterbacaan dan respon siswa memperoleh rata-rata 95,10% sehingga media dinyatakan praktis. Efektivitas media ditinjau dari peningkatan hasil belajar melalui perhitungan N-gain dengan nilai 0,76 (76,27%), termasuk kategori tinggi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media berbasis etnomatematika anyaman daun koli yang dikembangkan melalui canva efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep bangun ruang sisi lengkung sekaligus mendukung pembelajaran kontekstual sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka. Media ini layak digunakan dan berpotensi dikembangkan pada materi matematika lainnya berbasis budaya lokal.
