This study uses a qualitative approach of the case study type. The subjects of the study consisted of caregivers, heads of Islamic boarding schools, Islamic boarding school administrators, guardians of students, public relations, and students. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that optimizing press agentry in pesantren can improve the visibility of institutions by utilizing modern technology, as long as the messages conveyed are in accordance with the character of the audience and still reflect the values of the Islamic boarding school. Effective use of technology can strengthen the image of Islamic boarding schools, but it is important to maintain a balance between modernity and tradition so that their Islamic identity is not disturbed. In conclusion, a communication strategy that combines Islamic boarding school values with technology can strengthen the visibility of institutions and build better relationships with stakeholders, without sacrificing the identity and basic principles of Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The education system in Pakistan faces challenges in effectively teaching English as a second language, prompting students to seek external support through coaching classes. This studyexplores the impact and implications of coaching classes on English language learning, examining their influence on academic performance and their emergence as a parallel education system. A mixed-method approach was adopted, utilizing surveys of 300 participants, in-depth interviews with 30 students, teachers, and parents, and classroom observations conducted in 10 schools and coaching centers. Quantitative analysis revealed that 75% of students attended coaching classes, with significant academic improvements in English performance noted for coached students compared to non-coached students (p < 0.05). Qualitative findings highlighted both the benefits and challenges: while coaching classes offer personalized attention and enhance exam preparation, they also impose a financial burden on families and reflect inadequacies in formal education. The study concludes that while coaching significantly enhances students’ English skills, it underscores the need for improvements within schools to provide more comprehensive language education. Addressing gaps in formal education could reduce over-reliance on coaching classes, ensuring more equitable access to language learning opportunities.

Abstract

Islam as a religion covers various aspects of human life, but research on Islam is often limited to theological or historical perspectives. This research aims to develop a methodological framework that integrates multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches to understand Islam as a comprehensive way of life in the context of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). P5 aims to develop the character of students who are faithful and devoted to God Almighty, have a global outlook, cooperate, be self-reliant, and think critically, and creatively. To achieve this goal, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using methodologies and tools that support systematic thinking, identification, feasibility testing, and meta-analysis through journal articles, books, research reports, and other sources published in the last 10 years. Literature Selection and Quality Assessment consists of Inclusion Literature that discusses about Multidisciplinary approaches are used to combine perspectives from sociology, anthropology, psychology, and economics. The interdisciplinary approach integrates theories and methods from different disciplines to create a deeper understanding of how Islamic teachings can support the character development of Pancasila learners. The transdisciplinary approach involves collaboration between academics and practitioners from different fields to produce practical solutions based on academic research from Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, Eric, Crossref, and Science Direct databases. The research findings show that Islamic teachings influence public policy and governance, and interact with local culture in daily religious practices. The integration of Islamic teachings with Pancasila values can teach students about the importance of social justice, collective responsibility, and mental health.
