Abstract

The research objective is to mapping the potential and priority of small and medium the creative industry in Banten Province through indicators with qualitative approach. Research used qualitative descriptive methods by conducting a survey of creative industry actors in Banten province. Primary data was obtained by interview method, and questionnaire while secondary data was obtained from relevant data from other sources such as BPS, Disperindag and literature study. Data analysis using the Analytical Hyrachy Process (AHP) is a decision-making approach designed to provide solutions to problems involving complex criteria, determine priorities with multiple criteria, and determine alternative models to solve various problems. AHP calculation results by crossing the Priority Criteria with the Subsector's Priority Ekraf, obtained the number 0, 496243386 in the first position for Kriya, 0.404603175 for the Fashion sub-sector in the second position and 0.099153439 for the Culinary Subsector in the third position. The three subsectors of this creative economy become the most dominant subsector chosen by the respondents and the ranking position above becomes a picture for the government to provide more stimulus to the existing sub-sector micro, small and medium creative Industry sector in Banten Province.

Abstract

Background: Regional autonomy has been implemented for more than two decades, but local governments can still not manage their local finances independently. Problems that occur in the implementation of regional autonomy can occur from within and outside the country. Domestic conditions indicate that people want openness and independence, while foreign conditions indicate that the increasing progress of globalization demands the competitiveness of each country, including the competitiveness of local governments. Methods: This study uses panel data consisting of time series data from 2018 - 2022 and cross-section data on 140 districts in Indonesia that have primary leading sectors. The analysis method is the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method with the System Generalized Method of Moments approach to address endogeneity problems and dynamic economic correlations. Findings: The results of this study indicate that the primary output variable and tax ratio have a positive and significant effect on regional financial independence. In contrast, natural resource revenue-sharing funds and general allocation funds have a negative and significant effect. Meanwhile, the special allocation fund variable does not affect regional financial independence. Conclusion: This study concludes that enhancing primary output and optimizing tax ratios are crucial for improving regional financial independence. However, reliance on revenue-sharing funds and general allocation funds can hinder financial autonomy. Policy implications suggest the need for local governments to strengthen their economic base and reduce dependency on central government transfers to achieve greater fiscal independence. Novelty/Originality of this Article: This study provides a novel approach to analyzing regional financial independence by utilizing the System Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to address dynamic economic correlations and endogeneity issues.

Abstract

The disparity in socioeconomic conditions across Banten Province is suspected to contribute to regional inequality, stemming from uneven economic development. This is evidenced by certain areas with significantly higher economic levels than others. This study uses correlational and spatial approaches to analyze the influence of these socioeconomic conditions on the high level of regional inequality in Banten Province. The socioeconomic variables examined include the Human Development Index (HDI), labor force participation rate, poverty rate, base economic sector, and economic growth. The findings indicate that the poverty rate significantly correlates with regional inequality in a non-spatial context. Meanwhile, the base economic sector (particularly manufacturing) and economic growth show significant spatial effects on regional inequality.

Abstract

Research Originality: This study focused on addressing the goal of reducing extreme poverty (EP) to 0% by 2024 in Indonesia, an objective that has been underexplored in global literature. Research Objectives: This study examined convergence in EP across Indonesia and analyzed the impact of economic as well as social variables on poverty reduction. Research Methods: Panel data from 34 Indonesian provinces (2017–2022) were analyzed using Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and K-means Cluster analysis for regional classification. Empirical Result: The results showed that provinces in Indonesia were reducing EP at an annual rate of 1.19%, with a half-life of 1.6 years. This process signified that the country was on a path to achieve near-zero EP by 2024. Major socioeconomic drivers identified during the study included employment expansion and investments in education. Moreover, K-means Cluster analysis identified Cluster 1 (Central Sulawesi, North Maluku, Papua) with the highest EP rate of 1.52%, showing critical geographic disparities. Implications: The Government should adopt a multilevel strategic framework prioritizing regions with the highest poverty rates. Job creation and better access to education played a crucial role. Additionally, Indonesia's success could serve as a model for sustainable EP eradication in developing nations. JEL Classification: I32, P46, Q01

Abstract

This community service program was carried out in Kampung Wisata Pipitan with the aim of enhancing local community capacity in managing food waste through the empowerment of Bank Sampah Pipitan Lestari Sejahtera. The activities included socialization, technical training on bokashi composting, packaging design workshops, and digital marketing practices using a participatory approach. The results demonstrated improved knowledge and skills among participants in processing organic waste into marketable compost, the emergence of new entrepreneurial initiatives, and the development of collective awareness regarding sustainable waste management. The program concludes that integrating appropriate technology with active community participation provides a practical solution to reduce food waste while simultaneously creating new local economic opportunities.
