Abstract

Riko the Series is an Educational animated children's series which present scientific content related to the Qur’an (Quranic Sciences) in each episode. The focus of this study is to analyze the translation of the transcript of an animated short film entitled “My Father Is My Hero and Special Gift. The method used in translating Animated Short Film Riko the Series is literature study and direct practice. The translation techniques used in this study were amplification, variation, transposition, borrowing, and literal translation. During the direct practice, the obstacles faced were the lack of vocabulary, the difficulty in finding the right diction, and the difficulty in equating the accuracy of subtitles with the timeliness of film dialogue. To overcome the obstacles the solutions were looking for terms in the target language from words that are not understood with the help of a dictionary, and learning the features contained in the Aegisub application.

Abstract

English language skills must be improved, especially for educators or teachers. This is especially problematic for madrasah teachers who are not English graduates. For this reason, speechace application training is needed to improve English language skills for teachers of MI Muhammadiyah, Kedungwuluh, Patikraja, Banyumas. The purpose of the course is to provide knowledge and skills for teachers in optimizing information technology, especially the speechace application to support the improvement of English language skills and abilities in the school environment. The implementation method used is the Community Language Learning (CLL) method which consists of the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The results of this service during the training were active participant participation and the results obtained with the pre-test and post-test pre-test and post-test, then out of 21 participants, 95% of the participants This activity is expected to contribute to efforts to improve English language skills among teachers.

Abstract

Revolution of language style is affected by technology and the field majored by the author; in this case it refers to university students. The use of English terms in scientific text is predictably affected by their English skills. This research aims to know the characteristics of English technical terms that are used by the students and its usage in academic scientific text. The data is collected from the thesis. The result shows that students properly use the terms in the form of phrases, consisting of two to four words, that are abbreviated and not abbreviated, because of their familiarity with the terms. The terms are used to mention the name of variable, the name of application, the name of object, and the name of theory. In order to maintain the use of Indonesian language, the advisors are expected to suggest the students use its equivalent that are available in Bahasa and use it daily so that it is acceptable and familiar for the students.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman orang tua wali murid SD Al Izzah Purwokerto, Kabupaten Banyumas, terhadap pentingnya media sosial untuk menangani anti cyberbullying, karena saat ini banyak anak-anak atau remaja menjadi korban dan pelaku cyberbullying. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 42 peserta orang tua wali murid, dengan hasil evaluasi mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya pre test dan post test dengan memperoleh hasil mengalami kenaikan 40%. Kegiatan ini direkomendasikan untuk dilanjutkan dengan cakupan permasalahan yang lebih luas dan pelibatan instansi lain. Rekomendasi setelah pelatihan ini yaitu harapannya ada tindak lanjut secara berkala salah satunya kerja sama dengan dinas terkait agar pelatihan sejenis dilaksanakan kembali.

Abstract

Pengayaan berbasis literasi digital sangat penting dalam pembelajaran untuk mengikuti perkembangan teknologi saat ini, dengan memanfaatkan teknologi digital diharapkan peserta didik dapat mengimplementasikan dan mengikuti perkembangan teknologi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan mengetahui konsep pengayaan berbasis literasi digital sebagai sebuah upaya tindak lanjut dari evaluasi pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data penelitian yang diperoleh dengan prosedur penelitian kualitatif ini berupa kata-kata yang tertulis dan interpretasi dari perilaku seseorang yang dapat diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kegiatan pengayaan berbasis literasi digital memiliki tujuan meningkatkan wawasan dan kemampuan peserta didik yang telah mencapai ketuntasan belajar.

Abstract

In the process of learning English, learners often commit common errors in applying correct grammar. One frequent issue is the occurrence of grammatical errors when describing graphs in English. This skill is particularly important, especially for EFL students, as it is applicable in various academic and professional contexts. Therefore, the present study aims to identify the types of grammatical errors commonly made by learners in this context. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research analyzed 30 samples of students’ written work in which they described a chart in English. The data were categorized using Dulay’s Surface Strategy Taxonomy, which classifies errors into four types: addition, omission, misformation, and misordering. The findings reveal that omission was the most frequent type of error, accounting for 34.78% of the total, followed by addition at 31.88%, while misordering was the least frequent, occurring in 10.14% of cases. It is recommended that students receive adequate instruction in basic grammar to improve their accuracy when describing graphs in English, thereby reducing such errors. Furthermore, the study is expected to provide valuable insights for lecturers in designing a General English syllabus that places greater emphasis on strengthening students’ foundational grammar skills.

Abstract

The Juneng Mijil Community Self-Help Group (KSM) in Karangsalam Lor Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas Regency is a village tourism manager, one of which is Juneng Waterfall. The problem with the partners is that there is no technology used for early flood warning at the Juneng Waterfall and Twin Waterfall tourist sites, as well as low community literacy regarding early flood management. This activity aims to optimize the use of Android-based information technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) applied at Juneng Waterfall and Kembar Waterfall, through KSM Juneng Mijil in Karangsalam Lor Village. The implementation methods in this community service include the Pre-Implementation Stage, Implementation Stage, and Evaluation Stage. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm among participants, as well as an increase in understanding and knowledge regarding the benefits, usage, and maintenance of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Android. This activity is important in the utilization of technology, particularly in optimal and safe flood warning systems for the community.
