Abstract

Environmental degradation is a global issue that has a significant impact on human health and welfare. This research aims to analyze in depth various forms of environmental degradation that harm human physical, mental, and social well-being. This study uses secondary data analysis methods from various related research studies as well as an interdisciplinary approach to digging deeper into the relationship between damaged environments and disease prevalence, as well as deterioration in quality of life. Environmental degradation, which includes air pollution, habitat destruction, water pollution, and climate change, is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity today. Through a multidisciplinary approach combining data from epidemiological, ecological, and public health research, this study explores the relationship between declining environmental quality and the increasing prevalence of various diseases and their impact on quality of life. It was found that long-term exposure to harmful pollutants increases the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, while ecosystem damage significantly affects food security and nutrition. Furthermore, climate change is increasing the occurrence of extreme weather phenomena, which not only pose physical risks but also psychological stress. This article emphasizes the importance of effective policies and interventions to reduce environmental impacts on human health in promoting greater environmental sustainability for a healthier future.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between urban environmental degradation and community mental health disorders, focusing on the interdependence between the two. Environmental degradation, which includes air pollution, decreasing quality of green spaces, and increasing deterioration of city infrastructure, has been shown to contribute to a decline in the quality of life in urban environments. The impact on people's mental health, such as anxiety, stress, and depression, becomes more significant as environmental conditions worsen. Air quality degradation and lack of open space often affect psychological well-being, increase levels of discomfort, and worsen mental health conditions, especially among people living in more vulnerable areas. This research methodology uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional and longitudinal design to analyze the relationship between environmental degradation and mental health. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling, where the population was divided based on the level of environmental degradation (high, medium, low) in major cities in South Sulawesi. The sample included approximately 500 respondents for the cross-sectional design and 200 respondents for the longitudinal design. Mental health was measured using standardized psychological questionnaires to evaluate levels of anxiety, stress, and depression, while environmental conditions were measured using parameters of air pollution, quality of green open spaces, and infrastructure degradation. The findings suggest that integrated environmental improvements, such as green open space management and pollution control, can improve the physical and psychological conditions of urban residents. This study recommends the design of more environmentally friendly urban policies to improve the quality of life and psychological well-being of city residents.

Abstract

The government created the Healthy Family Indicators (IKS) program to assess or measure the level of progress of healthy families in each region. The Healthy Family Index (IKS) is a calculation of the twelve healthy family indicators for each family whose size ranges from 0 to 1. Families classified as healthy families are families with IKS > 0.8. IKS achievements are still relatively low for several regions in Indonesia, the results of IKS calculations from the 9 initial target provinces namely North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Banten and South Sulawesi as of June 8 2017 obtained families who have IKS above 0.8 of 0.163 out of 570,326 families (Pusdatin, 2018). This study aims to describe the family indicators and index of healthy families in Barombong Village. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research. Based on the results of the study showed that the healthy family index of 95 families consisted of 32 (33.7%) healthy families, 27 (28.4%) pre-healthy families and 36 (37.9%) unhealthy families. Meanwhile, 62 families (69.7%) participated in the Family Planning program, 6 families (75%) gave birth to mothers, 5 families (83.3%) babies received complete basic immunization, babies received exclusive breastfeeding there were 5 families (55.6%), Toddlers who received growth monitoring there were 10 families (62.5%), there were no pulmonary TB sufferers in 95 families (100%), Patients with hypertension who received regular treatment there were 3 families (50%) ), no mental disorders were found in 95 families (100%), 68 families (71.6%) smoked family members, 75 families (78.9%) had become JKN members, 95 families (100%) these already have clean water facilities, and 95 families (100%) already use healthy latrines. It is recommended that the local puskesmas make policies and efforts to increase family planning participation so that couples of reproductive age (PUS) realize that participating in family planning is to limit birth rates in the long term, make regulations and make appeals not to smoke, especially for areas that are close to members' activities. family.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of cutting forces, describe and identify the reactionforces on the base (bed) of a lathe machine, and to find the relationship between depth of cut andthe reaction forces on the machine bed resulting from the distribution of cutting forces during theturning process. The experiment was carried out by turning a concrete iron rod (low carbon steel)with a diameter of 25 mm. The turning process was conducted by varying the depth of cut from0.125 mm to 0.625 mm (with 0.125 mm intervals), spindle speeds of 85, 180, 540, and 800 rpm, andfeed rates of 0.1 mm/rev and 0.2 mm/rev. The analysis of the cutting force distribution on themachine bed resulted in the identification of reaction forces and torque moments. The results showthat an increase in cutting depth leads to an increase in cutting force, which in turn increases thereaction forces and torque moments on the bed of the machine due to the distribution of cuttingforces. The components of the cutting force are as follows: tangential force = 72–81%, longitudinal(axial) force = 55–60%, and radial force = 27–31% of the total cutting force. The reaction forcesacting on the machine bed include forces distributed along the bed, which are equivalent to thelongitudinal (axial) force component, and downward forces acting on the middle part of the bed.Torque moments occur at both ends of the bed, specifically under the headstock and tailstock (inthe clockwise direction). The final results indicate that torque moments have the most significantimpact on the structural safety of the machine bed. The magnitude of the reaction force at the center
