Abstract

This research was carried out to examine the development of creativity in early childhood at the Nurul Muslimin Mosque Kindergarten. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this research were teacher educators at the Nurul Muslimin Mosque Kindergarten. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observation and documentation. Through observations and interviews, this research identified several obstacles in developing children's creativity, namely limited space for expression, differences in levels of self-confidence, and difficulties in working together. Several strategies are designed to overcome the identified barriers by providing a wide space for expression, varied media, fun and dynamic learning, encouraging social interaction, and eliminating the fear of mistakes. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of creativity in early childhood by providing practical and innovative solutions that are easy to implement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine strategies for using standardized language in improving children's language skills. Standardized language is an important foundation in establishing the basis of good language skills and ensuring children have a strong foundation for effective communication. The research method used in this study is a qualitative literature study by analyzing various relevant sources such as scientific journals, research reports, textbooks, and other secondary data sources. The results of the study show that in general there are still many children who still do not fully understand the difference between standard and non-standard language. Children still rely on the language they hear and use daily. This research emphasizes the role of teachers and parents is very important in improving standard Indonesian language for children. Some of the strategies described in this study to help children improve standardized language such as inviting children to talk with interesting topics and by telling stories.

Abstract

Environmental cleanliness is a socially relevant yet underexplored theme in early childhood cognitive development. While preschool education often introduces hygiene routines, little is known about how young children cognitively construct meaning around cleanliness. Most studies have focused on abstract academic domains like literacy and numeracy, while real-world issues remain marginal despite their potential to stimulate rich cognitive processes. This study investigates the cognitive profiles of six-year-old children on the theme of environmental cleanliness, grounded in Piaget’s theory of the preoperational stage. It explores how children demonstrate development across four domains including symbolic thinking, memory, language use, and imagination. A thematic assessment instrument was developed and validated through expert review, comprising 13 observable indicators. Data were collected through structured observation and guided interviews with seven children in three kindergartens in Medan, Indonesia. Findings revealed that most participants were categorized as established in memory and language use, indicating strong recall and verbal explanation of cleanliness routines. However, symbolic thinking and imagination remained in the developing range, particularly in tasks involving abstraction or causal reasoning. These results highlight the importance of contextualized, thematic assessment in revealing nuanced developmental patterns and underscore the need to foster symbolic and imaginative reasoning as part of early environmental education

Abstract

The golden age  period (0-6 years) is a critical phase in shaping a child’s character, where effective communication serves as a strategic tool for instilling core values, thought patterns, and behavior. This study aims to analyze the role of effective communication in early childhood character development through a library research approach, reviewing relevant and up-to-date literature. The findings indicate that caregivers’ communication patterns influence not only socio-emotional aspects but also children’s neurological development, particularly in the prefrontal cortex and limbic system, which regulate emotions and morality. A democratic communication style proves most effective in fostering cognitive skills, creativity, and conflict resolution, compared to authoritarian or permissive approaches. However, challenges in the digital era, such as high screen time (averaging 3.5 hours/day), may reduce essential face-to-face interactions. In Indonesia, 62% of parents still use one-way communication, which hinders critical thinking development. This article emphasizes the need to balance technology use with direct interaction and highlights the importance of training parents and educators in effective communication to cultivate a generation with strong character and adaptability.
