Abstract

Character education is an important aspect in developing individuals with integrity and good personality. One of the essential character values is the value of tolerance, which plays a key role in building harmonious relationships in a multicultural society. Elementary school has an important role in shaping children's character because it is the initial stage in their learning process. Extracurricular activities, such as Scout activities, are considered an effective means of instilling character values in a formal education environment. This research aims to explore the influence of the implementation of instilling the value of tolerance through Scout extracurricular activities on the character education of students in elementary schools. The main focus is to understand how Scout activities can play a role in strengthening the value of tolerance among students. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide deeper insight into the role of extracurricular activities in shaping student character, especially in terms of developing attitudes of tolerance towards differences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the form, structure, and strategy of instructional phrase usage by teachers in bilingual learning in elementary schools. The type of method used is descriptive qualitative research. The results show that teachers use instructional phrases in the form of simple imperative sentences, both in full English and mixed with Indonesian (code-mixing). The translanguaging strategy is the main approach used by teachers to adjust instructions to the students' level of understanding. Translanguaging is used in the form of bilingual repetition, meaning clarification, and context adjustment. This study concludes that the strategic use of instructional phrases in a bilingual context can improve students' understanding and engagement in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of dance extracurricular learning in developing kinesthetic intelligence and shaping student character at SDN 2 Trompo, Kendal District, Kendal Regency, Central Java. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using field research methods conducted from December 2025 to January 2026. Data were collected through structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model with source and technique triangulation to ensure data credibility. The findings reveal that dance extracurricular activities significantly contribute to the development of five aspects of kinesthetic intelligence, namely movement coordination, body balance, flexibility, movement accuracy, and motor memory. The dance learning process also fosters four student character values, including self- confidence, discipline, responsibility, and cooperation and mutual assistance. A key finding of this study is that both aspects develop simultaneously and are integrated throughout every stage of learning, from the introduction of basic movements to performance experiences before an audience.
